Friday Night Funkin' is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io.
The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn't approve of him. It's up to Boyfriend to rap battle his way through him and anyone else that stands in his way so that he can finally get freaky! Think you got what it takes?
Friday Night Funkin' is an ongoing project that will continue to receive updates, bug fixes and new content. A full version of the game is currently in development, having been successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign. Check the changelog here for information on the latest updates. Mario's Madness is a mod directed by Marco Antonio The mod is centered around Mario.EXE; a creepier version of Mario from a well-known piece of artwork from DeviantArt. It also features a few other appearances from other official and unofficial horror-based Mario characters.
STORY
"It's a Friday noon, you're hanging out at your girlfriend's house, when all of a sudden, a package arrives at the door, you and your girlfriend receive it and open it, you realize it's an NES cartridge, you insert it into his father's console and start playing, not knowing you've unleashed a demon.
you and your girlfriend are dragged into the tv by a pair of gloved hands, you wake up in an empty space, you look up at the sky, and then, you see him...
you're not alone here."

Sonic the Hedgehog is a Japanese video game series and media franchise created by Yuji Naka, Naoto Ohshima, and Hirokazu Yasuhara for Sega. Genesys is a creepypasta character made by Newgrounds user Revie03, based on a corruption of Sonic The Hedgehog on NES that happened during one of Vinny's Corruption Stockpile streams from 2017. In said corruption Sonic loses a life to the first boss, Robotnik in his Egg Wrecker, but instead of reloading the level at the last checkpoint the game glitched out, froze and showed a black screen saying "SONIC HAS PASSED" in all red letters before loading a rom of Somari, replacing Sonic with Mario has the former had passed away.
Genesys is an entity made by Revie_03 (ex director of VS. Sonic.EXE and EXE’s creator) that would later on be owned by Dumbie. This Eggman-based entity has taken full control of the entire game he resides in, and he uses Sonic's dead body as a toy that he kills over and over again.

Lore: Over on the Vinesauce channel, Vargskelethor Joel was hosting a special livestream revisiting some of the games he had played over the years when Boyfriend and Girlfriend literally fell out of nowhere.
"Hello everyone, Joel here, and today to celebrate another Vinesauce milestone, we're going to replay some games that we've done in the past and...*cue the rapping duo falling into the livestream* What the? Who are you, and how did you get here? *whispering is heard as Joel looks back* Really? Well alright. Say, you two have arrived at a very special occasion. How would you two like to play some of the bootleg games we've had planned?. Great, lets get started".
Starting with the infamous Sonic NES port, Boyfriend found himself rapping against that games Eggman, whole while seeming a bit off, still behaved as normal. In the middle of the song, however, the mad scientist began to glitch out and corrupt everything in the game, even more than the last time Joel had played, til it was nothing more than a monstrous pile of corruption with Eggman's body as its shell. And Boyfriend was its next target.

also the "Sonic NES port" was iirc, an improvement hack for the original Somari bootleg which added stuff like a playable Sonic n whatnot, you may have to look more into that tho

Whoops, my bad. It’s hard to not mix up Joel and Vinny considering they’re both well known. Also, in my lore Genesys is a mix of the original corruption from that video and Revie’s take on it.
