This podcast has reignited my love of reading. I also discovered the world of library audiobooks via this channel which has literally changed my life! I am reading so much more now as well as supporting my local library... it feels great.
Music is so subjective, so it’s hard for everyone to agree what’s a great album. I’m an album person and when I love an album I love it. Meldodrama is one of my all time favourites. And I love The Tortured Poets Department but I know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea ☕️ ❤❤
Watching these videos is such a a cozy way to start my Saturday morning with my tea (Yorkshire biscuit is delicious!) and breakfast. I will admit that my reading tastes rarely overlap with either Ariel or Raeleen. I'm primarily someone who reads high fantasy multi book series and steamy historical romances. That being said, I've followed Ariel and Raeleen for many years on RUclips and even though we don't read the same books, these videos just feel like catching up with bookish friends. Thanks for the beautiful cozy content!
Someone may have already said but the Fox's ginger creme biscuits are currently sold in the UK in green packaging too, not sure if they've changed the packaging since you had them before though!
For some reason it’s always those “wallpaper” albums that are my favorite. Like I can’t stop listening to solar power I’m so into it, and the new Billie one is the only one that’s actually pulled me in so far.
Solar Power is my favourite Lorde album! I didn't realise that people didn't like that much. I don't particularly like lo-fi (wallpaper as Ariel said) music but I do love the beach vibes of album. I feel like there are quite a few song I sing along too and it is the perfect driving album in the summer :)
Mashed potato May is going swimmingly - I finally finished Little Women! And then promptly took a Buzzfeed quiz to find out which of the March sisters I’m most like - it’s Beth, and I’m not surprised, as I found myself highlighting so many of her passages in the book 😂
i have to check out metamorphosis! i've only read the trial (for school) but loved it. i know you guys must have so so many books on your tbr, but i just read a really good book set in nova scotia and have to mention it! it's called the sweet sting of salt and it's set in mahone bay in 1832. it's a queer light fantasy book about a local midwife who's isolated and ostracized from her town and the mysterious new wife of a local fisherman. it's super atmospheric with strong characters and just adds to the growing group of media (along with ariel's house videos) that makes me want to move to nova scotia
Im reading Oh William! By the same author which is the third book in the Lucy Barton trilogy. I’m loving this one much more. Her writing is very chatty and you feel as though you’re sitting in a cafe with Lucy while she tells you all about her life with her first husband. It’s brilliant
Ariel you might be thinking of Foxes Biscuits Golden Crunch Creams. I think they come in an orangey packet! 🧡 I used to do tea swaps with some of my American Friends in the post which was always such fun to receive. A Canadian friend used to send me Banff Maple tea which was a favourite!
I usually watch the podcast on Spotify (as it means I can watch whilst sitting but then also move around the house with it still playing when I'm doing chores) but I had to come across to RUclips to check if anyone else had mentioned the Fox's Cream Crunches. They have so I don't feel the need to explain but since I'm here I wanted to say thank you both for this podcast. I look forward to it every week. Anyhoo, back to Spotify!
Not a squirrel, but a Brushturkey (I'm Aussie) pulled a small plush wombat out of my pocket and buried it in leaves under a bunya tree. So pesky. I also still think Raeleen's sound needs to be called Swamp Ambience.
While watching I realised I'm accidentally participating in mashed potato may👀 I finished a norwegian classic I've been meaning to read for a year, and I'm currently reading The silmarillion which I've owned for NINE YEARS😳 Now I just have to finish it...
Hi you two, seeing Ariel talking about Kafka, I took out my german book (I am from Berlin in Germany) and read up. So in german the first line goes as following: "Als Gregor Samsa eines Morgens aus unruhigen Träumen erwachte, fand er sich in seinem Bett zu einem ungeheuren Ungeziefer verwandelt." The word of interesst beeing 'Ungeziefer', which does not state the exact bug, but translates to vermin or pest....Also I once came across a meme saying that it is the most german thing in the world to wake up as a bug and only worry about how you will make it to work in time. Suming it up so perfectly I think 🤣🤣🤣 Greetings from Berlin

So now I have a word to describe my dreams as well! I’ve had so many dreams where I’m late for work but I just can’t seem to get there because things keep popping up.
Feeling the same about the album, but watched an interview of Eilish and Finneas (on Apple Music on RUclips) and they explain their making of the album and they approached it in a totally different way. I prefer her previous stuff but at the same time I always prefer her live than on her albums so maybe my opinion of Hard & Soft will change when I listen to her sing them live. PS jenny the cat says hi! LOL

I feel like you guys might like some of taylor’s literary lyricism, like on folklore, evermore and tortured poets. Listening to her songs makes me feel like i’m reading a book with amazing prose and that’s why i fell in love with her music and lyrics. This made me laugh because any house project takes longer then you think. My husband has built us 3 houses and it all goes on longer and costs more... People go crazy with remodels.

Raeleen, I love the 3 body problem series! In my opinion the second book (The Dark Forest) is the best so you have a lot to look forward to!!!
