Farnham & District Model Railway Exhibition 2023 Continuation 2

On Saturday 14th October I visited the Farnham and District Model Railway Exhibition which was being held at the Alderwood Leisure Centre in Aldershot.
The exhibition was open from 10 am until 5 pm on the day of my visit with approximately 27 layouts on display with support from 19 trade stands.
The chosen venue and facilities were an excellent choice with 5 halls being utilised for all of the exhibits and traders.
Parking upon my arrival was very straight forward due to several attendants guiding me to a vacant bay.
The layouts on display were built to a very high standard and all exhibitors should be congratulated for their efforts on the day.

Opening shows for once realistic colouring.....old steam locos are always captivating...always had great holidays Dawlish Warren so this is a great video throughout...

Some really lovely layouts here but yet let down by appalling operating probably through ignorance of how the real railway operated back in the day. Steam locos cannot reverse without the drivers operating the revering gear and it's certainly not as quick as flicking a switch on the controller. Locos do not buffer up to stock without stopping first and then easing up. They don't run into coaches or wagons and continue to push the stock down a platform. There are so many other poor examples! Sad really as there are loads of books out there and you can still see it done properly on numerous preserved lines.
