Just purchased to monitor my two grandchildren who are both type one. My daughter has it, and I used it when they slept over and fell in love with this thing. I will now be able to monitor them without constantly running to their devices. Game changer!

I live in the UK and have a Sugar Pixel. My 4 year old daughter is Type 1. This device is fantastic, especially to be able to check quickly what her numbers are through the night! It's all set up through my phone and it's amazing that the device still displays her readings when I am away from the house.... Handy for my husband or mum looking after her. Works great with CamAPS, G6 and Xdrip. Have ordered another one for my daughter's nursery.

I just got one last week after having seen it on a shelf behind Tom Vesely during one of his Type One Talks videos--I naturally had to ask what it was, he replied, I looked it up and bought it on the spot... I keep mine on the desk in my home office under my monitor so that I can keep tabs during my workday (when I usually have issues) [though I had a compression low the other morning that triggered the alarm 30 minutes before I was supposed to get up...I could hear it from down the hall even with A/C running and my wife running the shower... plenty loud enough...]

That's awesome! It's always great to hear how people discover and integrate new technology into their daily routines. I know Tom we did a collaboration video about a year ago, he's a really good guy. Sounds like you've found a perfect spot for it on your desk, and it's certainly doing its job with that loud alarm! 😄 It must be quite the conversation starter as well. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I love it. It is much easier to see and hear when you're trending higher/lower. I use a G6 with OP5 looped. I have a Garmin watch connected to my G6, but don't check it as often as glancing at this. I move it from room to room in my home. Since getting this I've been able to keep my numbers pretty much 100% in range at home.
I do long car rides at times, I've debated trying to use it traveling with a Hot Spot.

I’m LADA and I have to buy my cgms as I’m not dying from being hypo unaware. Many endos don’t believe adults can get any other types than 2 in my city sadly and I am fighting for coverage for every single thing including my mobility device and soon a lifter.
I believe that a device should be considered for coverage if the need is present no matter what your diagnosis is.

I agree. It’s very unfortunate that many diabetics get over looked and under treated because many physicians or endocrinologists are not yet “impressed” with their situation. If possible try to look for a second opinion. Hopefully someone out there will treat you and guide you according to your specific need and not as just another number.

I bought 2 surger pixels a few months ago for my 7 year old son. One in my bedroom so I can watch his number while he sleeps and one in the livingroom. They work so great I'm thinking buying another one to setup at my parents house when they babysit my son.

I am impressed with this product and would love to have one. I only have 2 issues with it. The cost is more than I am able to pay because more than my income is already going to pay for medical costs. The other reason is that I currently use the Libre so it does not easily access it, hopefully it will in the future. I will have to keep my eye on it and see if I can find some extra money to afford it.

Thanks for providing this content Ben. This is the first time I've seen this gadget, certainly looks very useful. I drive for a living and want a device I can move from vehicle to Vehicle without the need to set up on board wi-fi each time, if even available . My question, will it connect without wi-fi? Bluetooth or 5G maybe? I have a smart watch app, but this would be better.

    • @typ3me
      @typ3me  Год назад +4

Yes! I love my job. It's super rewarding and gives me the freedom to do RUclips on my days off for my community. I aim higher than normal on my days on, but not by much. My goal is to always have 20g of carbs either on me or already in my system in case I get called to an emergency that might require me to be physically active for an extended period of time.

Can you snooze alarms through the app or do you have to do it manually on the device? I’m thinking about getting one and leave it in our kitchen where we spent most of our time. At night I don’t want to come down to kitchen to snooze if it is going off.

    • @typ3me

Pretty strong. Its ability to wake you will depend on the amount of layering you put over it and how light of a sleeper you are.

It connects to the g6 via the Dexcom share app. However it does not talk to the Omnipod. The great news is that as long as it is still connected to WiFi it will share your readings no matter where you go.

@gurugamer8632 Yes. As long as the G6 is sending info to the phone and the phone can relay it to the cloud you can receive it to the Pixel that is connected to WiFi.

This works alongside and with my watch and my phone. It has helped me notice trends quicker because it tells you how many units you were 5 minutes ago or the last reading. The cgm just gives you arrows that aren't sensitive enough (Dexcom G7) . I'm in 97% time in range. I have learned how long my my fast acting insulin is working and can react quicker and stay in range better. I love it. It's always on and in front of me. Well worth the price.
