  • We freaking interviewed SANJAY from E3D and it was a TON OF FUN! We talked all things REVO, the Rapid Change System, along with, yes, even how Sanjay keeps his hair looking so perfect! In part 1 we discuss the tool changer and it's impact on the community, carbon fiber and its impact on nozzles, Sanjay making a call for busted Nozzle X's, and we get to meet Heatbreak!

    Hi everyone, Grant here, As many of you may be aware, Sanjay passed recently, on November 27, 2021. Being one of the last people to get an interview with Sanjay this hit home HARD for me. He and I are only a year apart in age and damn you can just tell the passion from these videos, this man cared. As of writing this, there is still one more episode left in the Sanjay series, it was set to premiere today, that will be delayed to re-edit given the news. I am very sorry to see such a bright, passionate, and motivated, caring man leave this world so early, but I am thankful to have spent the time I was able to spend with him as well as the amazing amount of good he has done, and what his company, E3D will continue to do in his passing. Over 3 hours we hung out, 2.5 hours recorded and broken up into the videos you see with minimal editing.
    I am saddened to hear this news, as I am sure many of you are as well. Please consider leaving your thoughts on the E3D Discord channel: b.link/E3D-Discord
    We say it in every video, and now more than ever, please do not forget to call your loved ones. Life is delicate, appreciate the time you have with others and cherish the memories when they are gone. I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to interview, hang out with, and preserve the legacy of Sanjay Mortimer. You can see his passion, feel his emotions, and live vicariously through the man himself, even if it is taking Heatbreak out for a walk! Let these videos stand, in memorial of the man, the maker, the legend, Sanjay Mortimer. May he Rest in Piece.

      Likewise.. there's ONE MORE episode in this series but we are not going to be releasing it today. Due to the news it needs to be re edited and of course cleared with E3D.

    Speaking of 3d printer failures, I blew my 3d printer fuse when a bed clip hit the z axis extrusion mid-print. Sparks are fun!! :)

    • @3DMusketeers
      @3DMusketeers  2 года назад

      Hey at least it had a fuse right?? How would a bed clip hitting the z axis cause a short though?? Is the bed live?

      @corid143 2 года назад

      Oh not fun, better the fuse and not worse like the mosfets I managed to fry on two separate boards, though it was through experimenting and stupidity on my part lol

    I have had my printers for about a 8 months now, but with all the messing around I have done just experimenting has resulted in so many “learning” experiences, nozzle changing though was an experience of its own, basically with the Creality hotends it may seem like an ok idea to change it while still attached to the X gantry mount but if you don’t hold the above the heatbreak very still and end up putting even just slight pressure back or forth, the portion where the bolts attach to the gantry mount basically ends up breaking away from the back side after about 15 nozzle swaps, I ended up having to drill them out and make my own stand off bolts with spacers, which was fun since I had to make sure the nozzle was the. Totally square to the framing and gantry, now it would print just fine with out being square but the top surface finish suffers, not needing to be square was proven by the belt printers.

      Seems like it may be time to go to a V6 or wait for the REVO to come out, that is really unfortunate! I am sorry!

      @@3DMusketeers that machine is going with a chimera hooked to a mount I personally designed. Couldn’t believe it but the first rendition lines up really nice. Now my Frankenstein machine has the V6 hotend on it already, I just have to finish up with wire placement and end stop mounts.

    Grant, is there any possible way you could upload this interview (audio only) without the music in the background. I too struggle with some of the same challenges that Sanjay had and I’m unable to listen to this Interview with the music playing in the background. I realize this is a huge ask but please consider it. Sanjay meant a great deal to this community as you’re well aware and some of us may struggle to enjoy his very last interview in its current form. Please consider this request, thank you.
