      He was an NBA point guard for the Buffalo Braves. He was the Rookie of the Year in I think 74, but did not overall have a long career.

    The Philadelphia 76ers were known as the Philadelphia Warriors and not the 76ers til after the Nationals moved from Syracuse.

      The Philadelphia Warriors are now the Golden State Warriors. 'Sixers used to be the Syracuse Nationals.

      but he made over 30 million in 1996!! Nobody would make over 31 million till Steph Curry 34 million in 2017. That is an astounding 20 years. His 30 million salary was basically 20 years ahead of its time.

      His team could not pay him that much. All the teams had to chip in to pay him that. He made them BILLIONS, so the entire NBA felt that they owed him that.

      In what way? Ewing was always a productive big man, put butts in the seats and was a model citizen. He was worth every penny he was paid.

    Wilt wasn't with the 76ers in the early '60s. He was with the Warriors. He was traded to the Sixers in 1965.
    That business about Russ makingn one dollar more than Wilt was nonsense. Wilt made a LOT more than they let on at the time.
    Moses Malone was not on the Sixers in '79-80. H was with the Rockets. Same with '81-82.
    Magic Johnson didn't play for the Lakers in '94-95.
    Those were just the ones I bothered to check. That's a lot of errors.

    In the 47-48 season, Mikan was not yet in the NBA (then BAA) and was in the NBL.
    Minneapolis entered the NBA in the 48-49 season.

      Too much money in the game has completely destroyed and totally ruined both professional and collegiate basketball in my opinion. I refuse to watch either sport anymore because of the influence of money. It’s just gotten totally out of hand.

    Wow. It’s thanksgiving and im super high. When we got to 2026 i was looking at the weed crazy but this isnt my first rabbit hole and to know to buckle up for safety… especially in 2026. Scared to GPS how far of a drive back to 2024 is.😂

      @@MrShaun The players make that much because the market allows (and demands) they be paid that much. If the team they are on doesn't want to pay them like that, some other team will.
      The owners are putting their trust in these guys to stay healthy and win. What the owners make is dependent on whether or not the team performs. What the owners make depends on the teams, I can almost guarantee the lowest owner isn't making what the highest earning player is making after all is said and done with taxes and expenses.

      Yes he did. In the late 1960s. This guy has him listed as a 'Sixer when he was playing for the Warriors.
