It's always bothered me that the GC version's audio was desynced more than it was lower quality. Pirate's Wrath is almost a full 3 seconds out of sync with the visuals. I like the GC version's extra content but I have a soft spot for the DC original, excess sky battles and all.
I'll add a couple. You can win the Recumen and Grendel gigas fights normally with a ton of patience or using cheats. The fights end the same way though with no extra rewards. The regular cutscenes simply trigger anyway.
To say the gamecube audio for the tracks is bad is an understatement. I have the original OST a long time ago and still do. The Dreamcast ones are literally superior.
Did anyone else save the Captains Stripes from the Little Jack ship Boss fights, and save them to upgrade the health of the Delphinus? Really makes the late game ship boss fights much easier.
There's another small detail missing from the gamecube version that was in the original dreamcast version. When you acquire the little jack, the engine room is noisy until you steal Belleza's engine from her airship. Then, the engine room is quiet. In the gamecube version, there never is any noise in the little jack's engine room.
Fina actually isn’t a recruit able character in Valkyria Chronicles. She is in the game. But only as a medic Also the Bios do Vyse and Aika heavily imply that the ones in VC and the ones in Skies of Arcadia are the same people. And as another bonus, if Vyse walks up to Aika when she’s knocked down. He’ll say “Aika Baby”
Vyse & Aika are not exactly the same, but rather a version of them if they have been born in Galia. As for them being a couple... don't remeber their after-war profile update pointing them doing the same thing. Something else on Fina is that she's one of three sister medics
God, the Valkyria designs of Vyse and Aika look like they've had their souls removed... which I suppose they would feel that way, going from pirate to military dog, so that checks.
I think Elcian is a black looper, because Galcian had something to do with the Black Moon. When you find the discovery of the Black Moonstone, it says it converts negative energy to positive, and vice versa. I'm pretty sure this is how Galcian turned Ramirez evil. Ramier even has a line about his "Sword of the Dark Moon". The Dark Moon is most likely responsible for the Dark Rift. And Galcian had ties with the Dark Moon. Hence why his Looper soul is sent there. You can fight him over and over again as well. So i guess that implies some kind of immortality. Either way: The influence of the Dark Moon is felt, but never talked about.
Interesting theory! The dark moon stuff was always so mysterious, it feels like they were planning on expanding upon it in a sequel that never happened
I would love the all extra content from the GC version with the audio quality and encounter rare of DC version. Yeah, not joking about the encounter rate. I was grinding as hell in the DC version to win all bosses in a breeze
Incorrect on GameCube having a lower encounter rate. No idea where this rumor ever started (did Sega say this?) but recently speed runners have been testing the encounter rate plus the idea with it that rewards and exp from fights have been adjusted along with it. The first few battles you get more exp and magic points on GameCube and that’s all. The rest is exactly the same as Dreamcast. The Black Map and White Map also change the encounter rate in the exact same way as Dreamcast as well.
I've beaten this game probably 4 times. Of those 4 times, I 100% completed it only once. Worth it in the end? For me, yes, but for most people, probably not lol.
Who has their own easter eggs, Secrets, or trivia they'd like to share for Skies of Arcadia?
More Skies of Arcadia content is *always* a great thing! I'm currently on another playthrough of it, and it's fun every time.
It really is a good time. I played it recently on Dolphin and I'm currently trying to get a CRT Tv and gamecube setup so I can replay it again
The CD secret is so cool.
Also, Aika responding to the player snooping around was funny too,
So much love and creativity was put into this game.
Hell yeah dude I am HERE for the future SoA vids!
Glad to hear it!
The Gamecube audio does not sound as bad as I thought, I'm sure it was not perceivable on our TVs back then
I mean it's noticeable if you're being picky. There's entire instruments and riffs in the songs that are compressed into oblivion

Vigoro doesnt deserve such a prominent spot. He deserves to fall for eternity in a void
To say the gamecube audio for the tracks is bad is an understatement.

Proudly got the 100% completion. Hell of a game.
The Studio Ghibli movie 'Castle in the Sky' was a major influence on SoA, so check that out if you want more sky pirates
I love that film! I actually mention this connection on my skies retrospective video!
I actually never knew this but wasn't a huge fan of that movie growing up. I'll definitely be giving it a re-watch!
Anything Skies of Arcadia is a +1 and easy sub for me, neato video.
Glad to have you onboard

I do that all the time, especially with the rebalance mod
@@RGBHD404 I need to pick up an emulated version of this, never even considered a rebalance mod could exist. I'd like to try that!
Best RPG ever, needs a Switch port like yesterday. They could even add back a new version of Pintas quest playable from the menu.
That would be rad
This is my favorite game of all time and I learned something new! Still have the dreamcast disk but sadly dont have a CD player any more lol
More skies of arcadia!!! This game is so good
This is the best game ever made. Subscribed for mor SOA!!! ♥
Thanks friend!
i need to replay skies, i don't think i ever bother to track down EVERY moonfish and so i didn't know about the 3 secrets
It's a game I always go back to every few years, definitely worth the investment!

I wouldn't have noticed this in a million years, thanks for the obscure trivia, I love it

So Vyse and Aika are the canonical pairing I guess

2:18 Heh, heh, heh... Yeah, boy... XD
4:30 It's also a memory card.
💦

I mean they were really just added as fanservice, so think of them more as "dlc skins" lol
Vorlik Blade 4 Life!
That's a deep cut (literally)

A lot of cool information I've learned from this. (For the past 2 months I've been doing my first playthrough of SoA and I'm loving it)
Not to mention that Elcian drops a Valluan Medallion when you defeat him
I would love the all extra content from the GC version with the audio quality and encounter rare of DC version. Yeah, not joking about the encounter rate. I was grinding as hell in the DC version to win all bosses in a breeze
Yeah the audio is way better in the DC. Funny, I didn't realize what I was missing until I heard the difference
I never knew about that CD message thing. lmao
Still own my Dreamcast and CD's, the loading times and encounter rates cause me to still emulate when I want to do a full playthrough though
Have you played Pintas Quest?
@@WesDoesGames I remember getting literally nothing trying to as a child but all my VMUs I still have are multi-vmus with no screen :'(
@@lipayy9852 ah, that's a shame
Just watched an any% run of skies from ESA. Was craving more skies. Really loved the video.
Glad you liked it :)

More end game content would have been nice, but I still love the game regardless
Amazing video! Thank you so much!
Thank you!
subbing for more skies content 👍
Thanks friend
I already knew all these "facts". Try agian. 😮😊
