Lauren, you're seriously so inspiring to me! You are on the work grind and totally owning it. You are such a hard and dedicated worker and it's so incredible to see your grow and achieve your goals. I transferred to a university from community college last autumn and I can't tell you how much time that sucked out of me. I had no time for youtube, no time for creation. Whenever I felt inspired, I just couldn't make the time to chase after my idea. All my time had to be focused on school. And the fact that I wasn't able to create made the spark die. Made the motivation to do what I love die. I had to do school instead. I felt I made the wrong decision going to uni. (I've never liked school and never thought it was for me. I'm just here because I need to get my name on a paper that says I've graduated). So when I came back home for this summer, an explosion of inspiration poured out of me. Everything built up from the school year just poured out. I got a job at Anthropologie 4 days a week to make some money and the three days I have off, I was (an still am) working about 15 hour days at home. I have to create. I need and needed to get content out. I feel like I've been so busy, I've had no time to myself. But I'm doing what I love with the little time that I have. Stressed is something I feel. I feel like time is running out before I have to go back to college. But what I recognize is that this stress, this is from hard work. Really really hard work for three months. I haven't worked this hard ever before. And I know it will be worth it once I transition back to school for another year. I don't watch youtube videos as much as I used to this year because I'm busy creating and trying to build up a career for myself. But I do watch your videos and I do keep tabs on you. You're a constant reminder that hard work pays off. That dedication is important. That dreams are achievable. And because you're one year older than me, it really makes me feel like I can achieve my dreams through hard work. If you can do it, I can do it. And I just wanted to say thanks. Thanks for being such an inspiration and for giving me drive and motivation. You rock Lauren

the youtube lifestyle is so easy and relaxed...most people have to get up at 6 am mon-fri and not get home till 6pm, while youtubers can literally do whatever they want the entire day
Jenna Powers I don't think they just "do whatever they want the entire day." Yes RUclips is a different job than most, but at the end of the day it's still a job. You get to make your own hours yes, but those hours are going to be spent filming, editing (which takes FOREVER and is hella annoying in case you haven't tried it), going to meetings for brands and sponsors and in Lauren's case or the case of other big RUclipsrs, it's also about being on 8 hour or longer day set while trying to accomplish everything else I just named and more. I think because people only see the luxury of what comes with the job, they forget about the hard work these people put into their videos regardless of the type of video. Just something to think and beware of (:
i beg to differ. youtube and content creation is a very different job compared to most but it is a job. I wake up at 7am and sometimes work until 10pm as a content creator. i run a blog (planning, taking photos, writing, marketing), manage my instagram, take all my own photos for blog and insta, shoot all my own video as well as editing which takes HOURS i tell you lol. as well as work a 9hr job four times a week. it may seem relaxed from your point of view, but it's a constant hustle on the back end. especially if you're doing it all on your own (me). granted, i'm not at the status of lauren, i'm still just a beginner in this industry but the goal is to kindof create your own life and do everything you can to make it possible to do whatever you want. aka following your dreams. i hope you see where i'm coming from.
Jenna, all that work is not simple. Editing takes skill and time to learn to do, acting is only a career some can do because it takes talent of convincing an audience your someone that you're not while also being forced to remember all of the lines, and stage directions that you have been given. Not only to mention, that the creation of RUclips videos is about taking video ideas in your head and trying to film and edit it to your image. It's not easy at all and it takes a lot of effort.
