Omg! I think she should have been best Orator. I was thinking she took every question and instantly fit it into her argument so flawlessly. And now that I realize she's the Solicitor General it makes sense. She does a brilliant job arguing before the court.
I have seen a lot of moot courts and every single individual has been mind blowing and so talented my brain cannot comprehend it fully but tejinder and one other lawyer really shine in all the moot courts of the ones I’ve seen so far!
Singh and his debate partner also got to the final round of the National Debate Tournament when he was a senior in college. Might be the only person in history to get to the final round of the NDT and Ames Moot Court.
I gained a shit load of respect for these kind of lawyers after watching this. The mental sharpness that's required for this job is so undervalued. The judges are also very sharp. it's sad that we don't have judges and lawyers like this in our other bullshit branches of gov't. I'd like these people to make laws, not a paid off politician.
It’s cool watching this video after SCOTUS ruled on what they are arguing in this video. SCOTUS affirmed that the ministerial exception to employment discrimination applies to most employees of religious organizations.
this man has the patience of a GOD! I assume they try to do this on purpose, but he was ready for all of that bullshit. This was impressive, and a display of American democracy at the highest level.
I’ve been watching a few of these Ames Moot courts for the past few days now and have gotten a deep interest in it. I love the topics that are discussed during these competitions. Mind you I’m a Mock Trailer so this way of oral argumentation is a bit different by how the Judges are using the Socratic method in a way to get certain answers and to simply make the oralist think differently about the topics being discussed. It’s truly amazing how great debaters these people really are.
im legit binging his ames court appearances just b/c he was the funniest most likeable justice by far lmfao even when hes hard pressing on these kids with critical analysis and tough questions it doesnt come off as overtly critical and stern. Its kept professional and serious yet comes across as light hearted.
Since the first minute until 3/4 of his argument, Tejinder was bombarded and he basically circled around the "Why are we here?" and "Can't they still sue after 180 days?" question, but he slipped through eventually. Not the smoothest best oralist among all the other Ames best oralist that I already watched but he pulled it off just enough for that day
I love the Sikh turbine. It makes a lovely sash. You can use it as a tourniquet. Scalia lived in the turbine for several months before fat got the best of him.
This is literally a joke. They just try to grill and get these aspiring lawyers nervous and shaken. While it’s good practice it’s almost like a haze at the same time. If the intention is for them to get practice and get comfortable and referencing cases to strengthen their arguments, fine. It certainly seems to be in there but there are a lot of undertones of essentially verbal hazing.

Tajinder singh is the writer of ames moot court cases since forever wow i finally got to see him speaking
Makes sense!
How about Tjinder Singh, would you happen to know where he is working now?
Tejinder Singh was awarded the best speaker award in this competition. So proud of him
Because he shares your religious belief?
@@timc9372 no because he won... duh
@@timc9372 Yes. I see no problem there.
@@timc9372 I think you can't bear Mr Singh speaking confidently and elegantly. It's natural for a racist and ignorant to throw words like that.

Impressive how all the speakers hold their composure and are able to respond to such a relentless grilling.
I know right!!
True
Everybody is forgetting that Tjinder Singh's co-councel is the current US Solicitor General Elizabeth Barchas Prelogar

All of this was way over my head but I watched it all.
Singh was very impressive, but the speaker after him was pretty great as well.
Well she’s now solicitor general of the United states

says he works as a supreme court litigator now. So its a pretty fitting outcome given that fact lol
He also won the Copeland award that year and was the NDT top speaker.
bruh he won NDT as well? Dang

@@irshviralvideo Well deserved.
In these type of competitions a team always has to present a tougher position. Regardless of who wins all these contestants are superstars.
The great poised minds, eloquence at its best and focus on issues that matter.....Ames Moot Court, 'the game' i can't get enough of.....
That was a fantastic exchange of arguments. Very well done.
The second speaker the woman with dark hair was just nominated by Biden to be the solicitor general of the United states
Elizabeth Prelogar graduated magna cum laude at Harvard. Fletcher graduated summa cum laude and is under her supervision.
