I have been happy with it for 10 months now. Been comparing the exynos version with my America colleagues snapdragon version, when we meet and yes...the Exynos version feels better for both of us...
I haven't noticed any battery improvements yet but hopefully you're right! I haven't used my phone in a way that I'd be able to tell so hopefully I'll find out over January!
I just bought an s22 ultra exynos, I was afraid of the reviews I saw on the exynos chip, that reassures me thank you very much for all these videos. On the other hand I currently have 5/6 SOT in black mode, 60hz, fhd+ display, wifi no bth ect and I bought the phone 4 days ago I hope it will improve in the next few days.
Glad to have helped! Yes that battery should get better over, I find, about 2 weeks of use. You can also install an app called AccuBattery which will help monitor the battery and any apps that are draining it
use120hz and qhd+, when you buy an expansive phone like the s22ultra you want to use it at is full potential, and if you need more battery life just use power saving mode.
@@Drake2k4. Yes, I wrote the review when I had just purchased it. I spend the day working so I don't use the phone, I activate features when I need it. I am now able to reach 6/7h just with 60hz and fhd+ screen.
Thinking about getting the s22 ultra since the s23 ultra prices are a bit too crazy. I play games, but more simple ones and not performance heavy like apex for example. Is the Exynos version still a good pick vs the snapdragon if gaming wouldn't be a priority for this phone? Since the snapdragon s22 ultra is not available in my location. Despite what I've read about the Exynos it's looking good in this vid.
You should be fine - check out my recent gaming test between the Exynos and Snapdragon here: ruclips.net/video/m4RTaaW2Lcw/видео.html you'll see it works perfectly fine in most games (even PUBG has now had an update and it runs at 60FPS (which the video doesn't show))
It really annoyed me everyone slamming the Exynos version chip it was terrible at first but Samsung quickly sorted it out and it still got put down against the Snapdragon. I've just being playing apex for 4 hours straight on the Exynos version s21 ultra was absolutely perfect using normal gfx settings.
It does take time but eventually the developers optimise fort the Exynos chips. For this reason it's not worth buying on day one if you're a big gamer as you'll likely be disappointed to start with. My gaming test with the S22 Ultra Exynos 2200 is coming on Saturday and there are some interesting comparisons with the 8G1...
Great video as usual, I have a question. I own a Note 20 ultra, Snapdragon version, and I did not get the Android 13 update for this moment. What is the reason?
I believe it's out for the Note 20 but depending on your carrier it might take longer for them to push out the update for you - they will customise it with their own software etc. first. Thanks for watching!
Hello dear AA, Thanks for the videos, i am going to buy an S22 ULTRA, and the seller is asking me to choose between the European version, and USA version. the European one have 2 sim card slots, while the USA have only one + e-sim i travel a lot, and i don't know if e-sim works in countries with no e-sim services and for a developer uses, no hard gaming, how long does the battery last ? taking all this in consideration, i would really appreciate, and be thankful for you, if you can advice me on what i should choose, European or USA ? Thanks in advance.
Hi there, if you're not a big gamer then you'll be absolutely fine with the Exynos - that'll alleviate your worries regarding not having 2 SIMs too 👍 I used my Exynos S22 Ultra for a year and the battery life was great!
If that does happen (the Exynos 2200 was supposedly not going to be in the S22 Ultra up until a few days/weeks beforehand) then yep, I'll find something else to compare with - I will also try and put more effort in to the channel in the coming year as I've been so busy 'in real life' I've not made as many videos as I'd have liked. Thanks for watching and have a happy new year!
@Android Addicts please compare S22+ exynos to S23+ snapdragon. I have the S22+ exynos and are curious how it compares to the newer snapdragon chip that is finally coming to the EU.
My broken S20 FE (SD 865) can achieve much better results in benchmarking than my new s22 (SD 8g1). It gets around 3600 in wild life extreme while my S22 gets around 2400 (similar to your tests). It's so sad that I bought a recent high range phone that performs much worse than I 3 year old mid range phone. I noticed that the S22 8gen1 has extreme thermal throttling after 2 or 3 minutes of gaming, even after disabling GOS. Terrible gaming performance
The camera has always tended to be better on the Snapdragon overall (although I prefer some of the colours from the Exynos more). Sadly not much has changed in that department
@@AndroidAddicts thanks for getting back to me, I'm currentky torn between ordering a UK one or paying for a snapdragon from further afield. Your response has helped. 😊
Hi, i live in europe, i wanted to buy a ss22 ultra, the problem is that i don't know what to choose. There are korean versions with snapdragon , global versions with snap dragon, american version snapdragon, vietnamese version snapdragon, and there is europian version with Exynos. Now i am not sure what version to buy. And i am afraid if i buy not the right one, i will have problems with the signals etc. I don't know if korean version will work properly here in Italy where i live. Can somebody that knows how it works, give me the right answer please. It will be much appreciated
Whatever you do I would wait until the S23 comes out (being announced on the 1st Feb - you'll then find the price of the S22 goes down. Regarding the signal I've never had a problem with any phone I've imported here in the UK but you just need to check with your provider what 'bands' they use and then check the phone you're getting supports those bands. You should be able to Google which bands your operator currently uses in your country and then check on the site you're buying from what bands that phone supports
It certainly doesn't overperform in a Samsung. I've heard other manufacturers get better results from it - it could be One UI causing most of the problems...
The battery life depends on the performance level, so running games or benchmarks 24/7 may favour the Exynos. Though having the Exynos S22U and OPPO Find X5 Pro, I get 1.5-2 hours extra SOT with the OPPO in regular use. Seen tests on YT and everyday use of the S22U Exynos or SD8G1, there is little difference. So I would not buy Exynos 2200 S22U as an average user based on the battery results here. My Exynos S22U performs poorly, but I have solved this by running in 720p resolution. It makes it smoother, less laggy, has better battery life, and RAM management has improved by 66%. It is not a perfect solution, but as you cannot give away secondhand S22Us, I use this setting rather than lose £700 reselling. Not all Exynos S22Us suck, so the lucky ones will not need to do this. But there was a reason Qualcomm sacked Samsung Fabs, as well as rubbish thermals; it was their low quality; yields at the beginning were 30% Exynos and 37% SD8G1 (TSMC >70% A15). Good riddance to the S22U, the chip being just one of many poor components. Let us hope Samsung gives us the best with the S23U and no price-gouging charge us for the top-tier features and components.
You definitely shouldn't have to run a flagship at 720p! I feel the S23 could make/break the S series now as there are rumours it won't even ship with an Exynos chip (similar to the ones last year about the 2200)...
Happy New Year everyone! 🎉

Wow, now I am happy with my S22U Exynos, 10% more battery at the end of the test and the performance is very similkar to 8G1.

Any 4g standby test (or impressions)?
I can't really test it as the signal where I live is so weak it would be constantly switching between 3G and 4G sadly.
@@AndroidAddicts that would be a great test though: cell switching is one of the most energy consuming tasks for the modem
