Kim Wilde (born Kim Smith; 18 November 1960) is an English pop singer, author, DJ and television presenter. She first saw success in 1981 with her debut single "Kids in America", which reached number two in the UK. In 1983, she received the Brit Award for Best British Female solo artist. In 1986, she had a UK number two hit with a reworked version of the Supremes' song "You Keep Me Hangin' On", which also topped the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1987. Between 1981 and 1996, she had 25 singles reach the Top 50 of the UK singles chart. Her other hits include "Chequered Love" (1981), "You Came" (1988) and "Never Trust a Stranger" (1988). In 2003, she collaborated with Nena on the song "Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime", which topped the Dutch charts.

I agree Matt. I've introduced my nieces and nephews to 80's music and they love it. Oh, and the artists back then didn't have "auto-tune". My niece asked for an example and I played Boston's "More than a feel'in" and she couldn't believe it.
There were so many Genres. It was a mixup mash up. Record companies would through it all on the wall and see what would stick.
I'd have to go with the 60s. Radio programmers had no idea what the public wanted and on AM music radio you could hear a dozen genres in one hour.
It's just a matter of "been there, done that"! I'm wondering how people still come up with new stuff nowadays. No, it's not all good in MY opinion, but there still is new stuff coming out. A bit more few and farther between, but you also have to consider the last two years were difficult for everybody including music artists. The fact that you put three notes together and make money out of that makes you also a target for everybody and his uncle to sue for plagiarism too. Another thing... Since less and less people are actually buying or want to buy music doesn't help. I was there in the 80's as well and I consider myelf lucky there are still people who get their guitar out to work on new stuff. I still buy and download my music.

If you were lucky enough to be of age, 20's or so, the 80's were AWESOME. The music was awesome, the clubs were awesome. It was the decade of extreme, over the top, the music, the clothes, the big hair, padded shoulders, dance hall glamor. To go back in time, that's where I would go..

I don't normally condone remakes, but in rare instances, such as this, the artist refreshes the song with their own personal touch. Kim Wilde did a stellar job here and bought this song into the 80s✌🎵
