Thanks David, was good to catch up with you too, what a great run out that was and for such a good cause. I'll add you to the list for the exhaust draw for the 29th, good luck! Best wishes, Jon.
I think so, it’s not obnoxious even with the baffle out, the cat takes a lot of the noise out. If you want to have a chance of getting it free you only need to be in the UK and dubbed to the channel on the 29th September to be in with a chance. Good luck!
Good maintenance video & that must be the biggest baffle I’ve ever seen,I have the Black Widow end can (baffle Out) on my 2017 DCT & personally I prefer the sound it makes.
Thanks John, much appreciated. It’s certainly an unusual design isn’t it? It’s nothing more than a shaped pipe blocked at one end with no perforations. The gases simply pass around the baffle rather than through it. I also tested a 300mm Blackwidow can a few weeks back and that too impressed. 👍
Good review on after market exhaust cans again Jon, I am very happy with your previous Black widow can but enjoyed your comparison with the two. I am not so sure about the design of the baffle removal on this one compared to the black widow, good luck to who ever wins your great prize. Gerry 👍
Thanks Gerry, appreciate your kind words. Trying to split them on value is a tough one, you can see where the extra money went on the Black Widow in fairness. Quite what the advantage is to the weird baffle arrangement on the Delkevic I’m not sure. 🤷
Thank you for a very informative video. I have just ordered my NC750X I Took it out yesterday, for a test ride. Mainly I wanted to See how it coped with pillion passenger. I Was blown away performed brilliantly. Really can’t understand when people say it won’t cope with a pillion passenger and is under powered 🤷 Please Count me in the draw 👍🏻 Thank you
Thanks for the feedback and yes, I agree. Some people see mid fifties bhp and write it off, but they forget that at low / mid revs it pulls harder than most similar cc bikes and that makes for a very easy going and surprisingly capable bike, even two up. I'll pop you on the list for the exhaust, good luck!
Hi, thanks for the feedback, I've tried a few now and to be honest if you're retaining the cat then they all sound much of a muchness, especially out on the road. The longer cans tend to be a bit quieter and the stubby cans a little more noisy but it doesn't make as much difference as you might think. I'd go on quality / price / looks depending on where your priorities are in honesty. Good luck!
Hi, thanks for updating us all, that sounds like a much better idea, who wants to take the can off to pop the baffle in or out? I’d be interested to hear what you think of it.
@@BikingChap It sounds perfect not too loud with the baffle out, we have the exact same end can (purchased a month ago) on my sons 2016 yamaha wr125 and the baffle was in the other end like yours we had to pack around the baffle with wire wool on his as even with the baffle in it sounded like a crf450 he is 17 and it was even to loud for him, will get a clip of mine this weekend. I was going to email Delkevic as like you said its a bit of a job to remove the baffle and is way louder than my one on the nc750. appreciate your reply thanks.
Good luck everyone. That sounds and looks good. Great value for money and without looking, who would know? Count me OUT please. I don't think it'll fit my cb125f 🤣🤣 Keep up the good work!
I certainly will, if you’re not already subbed to the channel make sure you are by the 29th September and I’ll add you to the list I’ll pick from random. Good luck!
This type of Can doens't have a catalytic converter in it right? does it give any problems while riding? i mean with the ignition or somthing like that? did you lose any power?
Hi, that's right this type of is just a straight through muffler with a removable baffle that tones down the noise when fitted. No problems when riding as the cat is still fitted at the front of the existing part of the exhaust, so no fuelling problems, no need for any ignition changes and no noticeable change in power. You only tend to run in to issues when you remove the cat at the front of the exhaust, noise, altered power characteristics, increased fuel consumption etc. Hope this helps.
Hi Jayne, to be honest they sounded much the same. With the baffles out you have the cat at the front of the system and two straight through cans one 300mm long and the other 330mm long. I think you can safely buy based on the style, quality and price imho.
BikingChap, these are really great reviews. I watched the Black Widow one yesterday and then today this one came up. It's always hard to get a feel for how an exhaust really sounds from a video but I think your method has it as close as it'll get, especially with the sound meter reading. I'm now subscribed so please sign me up for the draw as I'd love to win this one. I'm in Canada but if I win I'll gladly pay shipping. And please keep making these kinds of videos.
Hi, that's really kind of you, thank you. As you say it's really hard to capture a sound, even using Rode mics, and though the sound meter is a cheap affair it gives a rough guide as to how loud it registers at 1m. Thanks for the sub, that really does help and sure, I'll put you on the list for the chance of winning the exhaust on the 29th. Thanks again for the comments!
@@BikingChap Went for a great ride yesterday. The weather was perfect, sunny and 22C, so I just took it easy and enjoyed being in motion on a motorcycle. But it highlighted the lack of quality sound from my bike. At low speed there's a bit of v-twin quality rumble dying to be released but as soon as I hit about 60km/h, it's gone. I've never been a fan of loud bikes and I don't want my NC to be loud, but I feel like it needs some subtle enhancement to let it realize it's a real motorcycle.
Hi Robert, it is a strange one as what can sound quite quiet on the road at speed can sound ok when driving by. With the cans I've tried so far a pattern is already emerging. With baffles fitted they tend to be a little more vocal at idle but not by much. On the road they are noticeably louder but far from objection but they still become near silent as speed increases, I guess you leave the noise behind. With the baffles removed they are noticeably louder at idle and more so when pulling away. On the road the note is there all the time, even at higher speeds and whilst fun for shorts bursts, I can imagine that it would be tiring on a longer trip. As ever it's all very hard to describe and very personal as to what one person likes. Good luck if you decide to change it out! Regards, Jon.
@@RobertSmith-bh5cv not as yet but i quite like the look of the stubby one from Ixil. It's early days yet but I think for me quality, value, ease of fitting and looks are the things that tend to differentiate the different brands in my view, the noise and tone variances aren't that marked, mainly because the cat itself takes away a lot of the noise I think. Hope that helps. :)
Aw rats sorry about that. Thanks for the feedback though and going forward I’ll look to see how I can open up any giveaways to the wider audience as I’m chuffed to see so many US and Canadians visiting the channel! Thanks buddy.

Hi JP, the Delkevic weighs 2.3kg, I have to say I didn’t weigh the original. What I would say is the original is surprisingly light for an OEM can and I didn’t register a marked difference, I’d be surprised if the difference was more than a kilo and you certainly don’t notice a difference when riding. I’ll through your hat in the ring provided you’re subbed by the 29th September and wish you good luck!
