Great work everyone! Special kudos to awesome vocals, harmonies and piano
that piano (or electric organ) player is just incredible. heck they all are. one of my favorite songs also done very well by playing for change
To sit in and sing on this jam session would make my dad so proud! This was wonderful.
The Best!
One of the most beautiful songs ever written, loved the tinkling on the ivories interlude🤗
Thanks so much! We love this one too!✌
Crazy Chester!! The Rick Danko part is vital to the song.
Crazy Chester followed me
And he caught me in the foggg, ah Rick, miss you.
I can see him with his elbows out, singing his verse.
I really enjoyed that !!!
reminded me of my house every Monday night some years ago
Cool, guys..! (from France).

Thanks for commenting....just knowing someone in Argentina is seeing this made it all worthwhile. Thank you!!!
Stellar version of this Robbie Robertson composition. Reminds me of watching "The Last Waltz" in a Portland movie theater and the audience applauding after every song like they were at a live concert. And how fortunate I was to see Levon Helm and his family band perform this song at The Oregon Zoo on Aug. 8, 2010, less than 2 years before his passing at the age of 71.
Appreciate the kind words✌
Well sung, well played...but there's an indefinable something that's missing. Another thing that is missing is the "Crazy Chester" verse!
This was a wonderful version of this great song. Not to nitpick but I just want to point out that the first chorus is "he just grinned and shook my hand" not "shook his head". Feel free to sing it anyway that you want to, I just thought you might want to know that just for your own knowledge, use it or not it is totally up to you my friend.
Yeah, I got confused for a minute, thinking I had it wrong all along. Especially cause it rhymes with “head”.👋
Pretty sure they know. Obviously they've all heard the original more than once.
Nice work.. Levon would be giving you two thumbs up from his drum kit in the sky. Tight.
Where is crazy Chester ?
Where’s Crazy Chester?
This is not acoustic for Christ’s sake , there’s all kind of electric plugged in shit here
nice...very nice...but...hard to cover the masters...no energy/soul in the chorus
Rick had one verse in this song and you did not sing it. Very disappointed as it was otherwise good.
Sorry, but it sounded laboured and contrived. At least try to get the lyrics right.
