Just want to say, this is the best sounding acoustic I have ever picked up, the acoustic sound AND the atmosfeel pickup are equally unmatched, the mic mix is so realistic that many musicians can't even tell that I didn't condenser track them. I'm so glad I bought it and the price is simply unfair. Now looking at getting the FSX3 too.
My only issue is that I have genuine wrist pain from the scale length being larger than I am used to, so just be aware of that.

Just got mine today. It is better than my FG5. The setup was perfect. The best setup I've ever seen on an acoustic guitar. The strings were low. No fret buzz. Just perfection. The Chinese are knocking it out of the park with their guitars.

I bought one last November new...2019 model surprisingly still in stock...I have since put a Bob Colosi custom bone saddle in it and ebony pins, have the action at 2mm at 12th fret with .05 neck relief and it continues to open up. I have at least 200 hours on it now and it is bullet proof and solid as hell. Tuning is consistent always. Really comes alive with Elixir Phosphur bronze lights on it. I tried many different types of strings but Elixir wins the prize.

Best review of this guitar. Nice playing and well done. Have played this and the FGX5. Both excellent guitars with excellent build quality. All you need really.

So excited to get one.........one day! I would change the elixirs, the plastic nut, plastic pins maybe get rid of the pickguard and it would sound like an fg5, maybe better

Picked up the non-electric one. Hard to beat for the price. If gigs warrant it, I can always sell this one off and get one with electronics. Current gigs are fine with a mic. Like that it isn't long scale, while having a wider 1.75 nut, good for hammer on/pull offs next adjacent open strings that are purposely ringing .

If you want to upgrade the FGX3 to the FGX5 specs, the Bone Saddle, Nut, Wood Pick Guard, and Ebony Pins all available on Yamaha's website, delivered for $75. Those items are the only difference between the two guitars.

Not entirely correct. The final tuning (i.e. scalloping of the bracing) is done by hand on the Japanese models while the Chinese models use CNC scalloping. Thanks, though, for the tip on ordering parts from Yamaha - time for me to upgrade my FGX3 (I'll keep the thin plastic pickguard instead of the thick FG5 version).

Hi. Could you give me a link to where to buy the upgrades. I can't find them anywhere?
      Thanks a lot.

Played a FGX3 today for the first time. Glad I did t buy it. Nothing special at all here. How highs and no lows. Sounds like my $399 Jay Turser.
