After my very first code in Acute Care and watching how amazing the rapid response team was and watching them jump into action, I have decided I want to obtain my ACLS. Your videos will help me get there. Thank you
Your story is so incredible As old by Muriel. It warms my heart to know that healthcare professionals can provide so much inspiration in everyday actions and help empower others to reach for the stars. I am so incredibly proud that you have made the decision to obtain your ACLS and I know you are going to do great things. Your #1 Supporter right here is cheering for you at the side lines.
thank you so much!! My acls renewal is up in January but I'm starting an icu internship in a few weeks and decided to renew with everyone else and auditory is the best way that I learn so this video was super helpful!!!
Congratulations on your ICU internship sassystump ☺️ Most of my experience stems from the Emergency Department and Open Heart Intensive Care Unit. The ICU was one of the best experiences I have had in all my nursing career. I am sure you will love it as well. I truly hope that my ACLS Like A Boss video will be helpful once you experience your first code in the ICU. You got this!
@@NurseCheung thank you so much, I watched your video at least 3 times and recommended it to others. We all passed today! I think this video and your other acls video were a big help!

Thank you for this, I am an RN in a M/S ortho floor and just reviewing this as part of my CMsRN and AcLS cert on Dec
How exciting Mau A. ACLS certification is a great certification to have working in any unit of the hospital. It helps prepare you for any code blue scenario that will require medications and interventions outside of BLS. I can't wait to hear how you passed both your Med Sure and ACLS certifications like a boss ☺️❤️
Just passed ACLS. Thank you so much! 💕
Congratulations R!! ☺️ Here is to another two years of certification.
Will we fail in acls🤔
What do you mean Liya Joseph? I’ve had several people reach out to me that they had to take it more than once. It’s all dependent on the instructor and company.
@@NurseCheung ok Thank you I thought online teaching and hand sections are more comfortable to do it

Tysm this is useful keeping us healthcare personel up to date in ACLS during lockdown... really appreciate it
I am so glad this was helpful . ☺️ Keep up those studies during quarantine.
@@NurseCheung will do😊✌🙋♂️🇲🇾
Hi i love ur videos the only thing i did noticed on the 2020 acls updates was the dosage of dopamine. It changed to 5-10mcg/kg now. No longer the 2-10mcg/kg....😃
You are absolutely correct Bar bi3. There has been some 2020 changes that I was not aware of. I am working on refilming this video based on the new recommendations and guidelines. Luckily, they do not go officially into effect until February 2021. ☺️❤️
@@NurseCheung yess. Its what i was noticing as well because i came for recertification and they are still implementing the old. Till 2021 the new kicks in. Looking foward for the new video. I have the alarm bell on!🤓❤❤❤❤
i love you teaching format. i watch it while doing chores like cooking. i pause to read the literature . put in some thought into it. then listen to you explain it. feels like inremember it better.
You are so kind and I am truly humbled kickboxer 81 💜☺️ I love that you are able to multitask while listening to my ACLS Like a Boss video. You are incredible! Keep up the amazing work you do 💜
An excellent and informative session....please try to make many more knowledgeable and amazing videos like these. Would love to learn...esp. the implications ( those important instructions which one needs to keep in mind eg: fibrinolytic treatment is not given in case of haemorrhagic strokes).
It would be great if you could cover more of pharmacology as well in the same manner.
Thanks😊
Absolutely Chandrani Samant ☺️❤️ I am in the process of creating more informative videos. The ATI TEAS Question Review Series should be done soon and I have recently filmed an entire cardiac bootcamp that should contact many informative information including pharmacology. Once these series end, I will be focusing on different disease processes and pharmacology more in depth. ☺️ I can't wait!
@@NurseCheung looking forward to it.....😊
You are a good teacher and you have the right voice.
Thank you amaroza100. I am truly humbled by your comment :D
@@NurseCheung could you pls make videos for EKG also please, Thank you.
TIME STAMP: 18:12. The 2nd dose of adenosine should be given 1-2 minutes AFTER the first dose. The 2nd dose should be given as rapid as the 1st dose! When injected into the body, adenosine is rapidly absorbed by red blood cells and blood vessel endothelial cells and metabolized for natural uses throughout the body. In light of this adenosine should be administered by RAPID intravenous bolus so that a significant bolus of adenosine reaches the heart before it is metabolized.
Thank you for the review and feedback 😊
Thanks nurse Chaung for a great review and thank you for all your great contributions to the health care profession.
Sincerely
RS
You're very welcome, RS! I'm delighted to hear that you found the ACLS review helpful and that you appreciate the contributions. It's messages like yours that truly make all the effort worthwhile. Great and informative video. CAB = Circulation/Airway/Breathing. A recent change from ABC.
Thank you for the kind feedback Virginia Wolf ❤️☺️ Yes, CAB is a recent change for the ACLS. Best to start chest compressions first so we can circulate the remaining oxygen left in the hemoglobin then manage our airway and breathing ☺️
Thanks!!!!! So simple, and effective

Excellent video. Thank you. Just as a side note, atropine can worsen type2 mobitz and 3rd degree and should not be used as an option.
Thank you for the kind feedback Mo JustUs ☺️💜 I agree with your statement on atropine. The only reason I list it is because it is listed in the ACLS manual for those conditions.

Tysm for pointing out in res potential test questions!!
For the blocks ex-Type 1- could you circle in red the pr intervals to show at which point they get longer then at which point it drops.
Could you also show on a zoll monitor how to set up transcutaneous pacing, setting up for synchronized vs synchronized .
Tysm
Thank you for all the suggestions Sbbs Gee 💜☺️ I have written everything down and will be creating videos soon on these topics. I am planning to redo my ECG video to make it easier to read and will have my hands on a monitor to discuss the different ways to transcutaneous pace, defibrillate and cardiovert. ☺️

what do I need to show heart rhythms using Preston AED to ACLS students please?
Unfortunately, I cannot answer that question Hicham Abboud 😊 I would reach out to the American Heart Association regarding the standards of practice and education for ACLS students.
The 2nd administration dose of Adenosine on the slide is incorrect for SVT.
After the initial dose of 6mg followed by a NSS flush, you wait 1-2min before administering the 12mg dose, following the same rapid push.
Adenosine is pushed rapidly, not over 1-2 minutes.
You are correct Mike D. I misspoke during the making of this video regarding the parameters for Adenosine. You will wait 1-2 minutes between doses but Adenosine is always pushed rapidly. ☺️💜
Great lessons
I am so pleased to hear that my video was helpful Jay Jay 😊💜

Where can I find your content for level 1 please so I can start watching every day and become familiar with. Please help. By the way you helped me pass the Teas and get into the program! Thank you so much.
Congratulations on starting your Nursing Program soon Tara Brown ☺️💜 I am so incredibly proud of you. Which Level 1 content are you looking for? I have a lot of videos on my RUclips that covers various topics you will see in your first semester. Let me know how I can help you progress forward into your nursing career.
@@NurseCheung I need help with Nursing concepts for unit 1 for safety and evidence with the author giddens third edition. My instructor informed us that it's the hardest chapter? Any tips on how to study and overcome this chapter other than reading and notes because I need a new strategy.

You are awesome Maverick Canto 😊💜
Thank you great video!!!
I am so glad my videos were helpful MedicXDm ☺️❤️
Hi Nurse Cheung! I'm currently reviewing my ACLS protocols and I found your video very informative and effective. Thank you for this. However, I would just like to ask why we should put the patient on reverse Trendelenburg position if we are to administer adenosine? According to my research this helps lower central venous pressure, but I still don't understand the rationale to this. Can you help me out please? Thank you!
Great question Vee Manzano ☺️💜 Typically, if we can, we like to place the patient in reverse Trendelenburg to get the medicine to the heart faster. There is also research that positioning can help cardiovert patients faster. I hope that helps answer your question ☺️
@@NurseCheung Hi Nurse Cheung! Thank you so much for your reply. I'd also like you to know that this video helped me pass my nursing clinicals and that now I'm in my final semester as a nursing student. Thank you so much!
God bless you! Thank you!
My pleasure Megan Poe 😊💜 Best of Luck on your ACLS Certification
This is good but please check on the latest dosages
Great catch Joyce Aroka ☺️ This video was recorded prior to the release of the 2020 AHA guidelines. I have a comment pinned to the top of this video that has the most up to date guidelines recorded.
Thanks, about atropine dose, 0.5 or 1mg according to this 2021 update?!
Great question Zingo Ringo ☺️💜 This video was based on the 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines when it was recording in 2020. I currently have a 2021 ACLS Certification Video which discuss the new guidelines. You are correct that the new 2020 American Heart Associate Guidelines now recommends 1 mg of Atropine for Symptomatic Bradycardia. I highly recommend you watch the updated video as there are more changes that took place in 2020. ☺️
Thank you for your videos! I am taking my ACLS tomorrow. Other ACLS what other certs do you recommend for New RN's to make us look better as we hunt for jobs during this pandemic? Its so challenging right now!
Congratulations on taking your first steps as a new RN Mich. The Advanced Life Support Certification is a major component of many intermediate care and intensive care units. Having this certification will set you apart from some of your competition. If you plan to work in the ER, I would recommend also obtaining your PALS certification as well. You may need to take PEARS prior to your PALS for the foundation. When you go to interview create a small binder or folder with your resume, certifications, and any awards or membership you were a part of during nursing school. Many hospitals are wanting to see candidates who were did their diligence with certifications prior to starting and were in involved in their nursing program. This will mean you want to be involved on the unit with Evidence Based Practice initiatives and Unit Nurse Practice Councils. During you interview, make sure you do research about the hospital system and unit if there is anything listed online and also make sure you always ask a question at the end of your interview. "What is the culture of the unit?" "What are your expectations for my position?" "How can I be involved on the unit?" Never ask about pay and benefits because the hiring manager usually don't have that information. I hope this was helpful in making you competitive in your job hunt. Keep me up to date with how your job hunting goes. I want to follow your journey ☺️
@@NurseCheung THANKYOU! I never learned what to do after I passed my boards in school and I have no connections so I am just lost. I passed my ACLS and your videos helped tons I just get confused with the heart blocks! Would IV therapy be a good cert too or should I wait till I am actually in the field? Thank you again Nurse Cheung you're very helpful!
I am so happy that I can help you transition to practice ☺️❤️ As for the IV therapy certification, this is typically used for those individuals who plan to become PICC/Midline placement nurses. It definitely wouldn't hurt to obtain but I feel you will still be competitive based off of following my previous post.☺️ Totally up to you.
Thank you!
My pleasure Nyawira Waithaka 😊💜
Thank you so much for this! The link on here for the cheat sheets and powerpoints won't work for me. Is there a new site?

Good morning. Is there a printable version of this presentation? This is really helpful
Hi Elizabeth Andrade. Unfortunately, I do not have a copy of the printable version of this presentation ☺️ I found that people were selling my powerpoint on Etsy a year ago and stopped providing the printable version.
Thank you so much
My pleasure Jelena Radic 😊💜
Great!👍🏾😊
❤️☺️
Question… at minute 22:45 of the video you said for V-tach we give epi???? It’s listed on the slide. Then you said we give amio right under it… why would we give epi if their HR is already high in Vtach or vfib?
Excellent question! In reference to the slide at 22:45, I'm discussing the management of Pulseless Ventricular Tachycardia and Ventricular Fibrillation. According to the 2020 AHA Guidelines, there are three medications employed during cardiac arrest situations: Epinephrine, amiodarone, and lidocaine. Epinephrine is primarily administered within the cardiac arrest algorithm due to its potent vasoconstrictive properties, which enhance cardiac output. This medication is given before it stimulates an increase in heart rate, improves myocardial contractility, and enhances conduction through the AV node. This ultimately leads to improved perfusion pressure to both the brain and heart.
Thanks !
My pleasure Jason Acosta 😊💜
