"Taylor hasn't done an R&B album"... I mean... Reputation wasn't far away from it. Midnights has tracks that aren't far away from R&B. So did Lover, TTPD, The Anthology...
So you listened to Red before Speak Now? I was thinking you went more in order. Great video though you both did a good job. Definitely entertaining and it was great seeing your progression from then until now 😊
It was a fun video, thank you for your inputs 😊 I'm 37 and I very strongly suspect you would enjoy Folklore, Evermore, The Anthology half of her latest Tortured Poet's Department, a bunch of the tracks off Lover and the 3AM tracks off Midnights if you are into lyric and songwriting. Interesting note: the lyric "I made you my temple, my mural, my sky" comes from a track called Tolerate It on Evermore. It's based on the relationship between the fairly older character Maxim and the younger female protagonist from the Daphne du Maurier novel, Rebecca. I would argue that her attitude is more idolitry of a first, much older love than it is obsessive. She goes on to assure the male character in the track that she will leave if he keeps pushing her away. It's an entire story 😂 There is a track on the same album that describes a breakup, but through the lens of various imagery and references to The Great Gatsby. And she has themes that not only reference other songs across albums... But literally echo literary themes and imagery in her songs across her entire career. If you enjoy Lit&Poetry at all, her work has a loooot to offer. I personally don't love many of her radio hits. But those only make up maybe 1/3rd of each album. There are treasures in the rest of her songs 😬
