im dying to hear more of ''isnt it'' , i love that so much i even had this thing wit a buddy where we'd just break into ''isnt it isnt it'' when agreeing with something ,huge laughs , id there any more clips with a good amount of isnt its !
This is me being them - "ooh, look at me, im flying a Hurricane. Its a shit plane, im rubbish, and my mum goes chippy in her slippers" - that was me being them
@faulknmd Haha, yeah, it all deserved more laughs than it got.. but I figure the laughs were recorded when it was played to the audience at Comic Relief, so they'd probably been laughing on and off for hours at this stage. I don't remember what time it was on, but you get wild whooping for the first two or three hours, tops, and then only genuinely funny things even raise a titter. I mean, depending when it was recorded this could have been seen as going down a storm... it probably was. :)
@IXPrometheusXI watch the end of the armstrong and miller predictive text sketch and you will see modern English youth (but as part of the joke again swearing is changed). This is a joke making old English pilots who should be speaking the queens english as per old films, speaking in the language of todays youth.
No,theyre taking the piss out of the youth of today. The way they speak etc and crossing the context of 1930's-40's because back then people of the same age spoke properly, didnt come up for an excuse for everything etc.Thats why it's funny.
@patricktamayo You know WWII? Yeah, you know WWII? It was like all bad and shit, they had them Nazi's getting all blinged up to do that shit where they imprisoned Jews or some shit. It was like some kinda sci-fi shit or some shit.
As an outsider I don't quite get the "standard" idiom. Is it a play on another bit of slang like the pilots actually saying "Isn't it?" instead of "Innit?".
To hear those words come out of Geoffrey Palmer's mouth was quite a moment. What a great sport.
Love the effortless way Geoffrey Palmer steals the scene. Classic
"Like a mole or a miner or some shit like that", I busted a gut man XD
Geoffrey Palmer is a comedy god his deadpan delivery is outstanding
Miller, Armstrong, Mitchell, Web AND fucking Geoffrey Palmer........WOW. It dosent get much better than that. Pure class.
OMG I was NOT expecting to see these two duos in the same sketch!!! It's like different worlds colliding... funny worlds, colliding...
"then they done escaping up a tunnel like a mole or a miner or some shit like that" I lold so hard at that XD
I love the way David Mitchell said 'Isn't it though', so very posh.
"his mum goes chippy in her slippers..." :D Love it!
Two of the greatest comedy duos in one sketch = death by laughter.
lol Mitchel & Webb + My favourite Armstong and Miller Sketch = AWESOME!!!
Oh my god! Geofrey Palmer! Plus Mitchell and Webb and Armstrong and Miller! AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Brothers in Arms... Sacred bond, isn't it, among young men killing other young men"

@jalexstone Yes, the presence of Geoffrey Palmer in this piece elevates the material considerably.

"That's you, Ian"
"Chalky!"
They done all good flying and war and this that and everything else.
Is it just me or is this awesome?
@MekonInBrisbane The whole comedic premise of this sketch definitely hinges on the type of medals they received.
magnificent
:D

I mean, depending when it was recorded this could have been seen as going down a storm... it probably was. :)
"Oh then why didn't you say that in the first place?"
The ONLY criticism I have of this is that they were not awarded the DSO as said in the clip - the medals are DFCs!
That was absolutely the most brilliant thing in the whole world ever! :)
escaping up a tunnel like a mole or a miner or some shit like that =D
you know you yeah....lol
If i try and talk gangsta, that's exactly how I sound. :P
15 people didn't get medals and shit
loooooooooooved this, thanks red noseday : )
In the advert before this video started, it was voiced by Robert Webb, I thought it was the actual video.
lol they sound exactly like all the chavs I went to school with! (except for the accents which are actually quite posh)
"isn't it"
"isn't it though"
"standard"
GREAT STUFF!
Ha! I love it - it reminds me of the Delta ebonics commercial :)
@OutragedPanda I was explaining what "goes chippy in her slippers" meant to tonemenolc
lol they should do more duo comedys together
They shot us down... twice. LMAO
It just goes to show you can't be too careful!
THAT was great!
OMG, comedy gold.
The older guy from As Time Goes By is Geoffrey Palmer

so clever!
*slow clap* Well done
armstrong comes from my home town!
No,theyre taking the piss out of the youth of today. The way they speak etc and crossing the context of 1930's-40's because back then people of the same age spoke properly, didnt come up for an excuse for everything etc.Thats why it's funny.
@GTA188199 it is "goes chippy in her slippers" by the way
STANDARD... AWESOME
@patricktamayo You know WWII? Yeah, you know WWII? It was like all bad and shit, they had them Nazi's getting all blinged up to do that shit where they imprisoned Jews or some shit. It was like some kinda sci-fi shit or some shit.
I love this XD
@Clarestovold That has to be the best execution anyone will ever get! xP

lol love it :D standard
You know you yeah you know you yeah yeah...LOL
Yep! i agree
lol absolute classic.
isnt it, isnt it, isnt it, standard
@2madmidgets Isn't it though... :)
Haha, it's the DFC, not the DSO but whatever. Still the most awesome sketch concept ever.
@OutragedPanda Just explaining to "tonemenolc" who didn't understand what "goes chippy in her slippers" means.
The medals they received were DFCs not DSOs which is the correct medal as they both wewre officers. Only NCOs got the harder to get DSOs.
2:40 + the man is brilliant :D
That is so unfair. They've just like got given medals and this that and everything else.
How did zey effer vin?
18 people are on free dinners.
@abluecarrot1
No, it's British teen slang.
Isn't it.
Indeed.
So funny - Ian
That's well funnt
As an outsider I don't quite get the "standard" idiom. Is it a play on another bit of slang like the pilots actually saying "Isn't it?" instead of "Innit?".
