Oh Jessi, when you said you are trying to take all the days in there, so he has less time in NICU.. this is so sweet, and you guys are the BEST parents already - and yes- you are already parents- already considering what’s best for your son. Thinking of you guys, and praying for you all every single day!
Yes that really brought me to tears. A mother’s love has no end ❤❤❤
This just made me tear up!! Such a good mommy!!
You two are going to be fantastic parents.prayingfor you guys.
Prayers 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️
Yes! Yes! They are so incredibly strong.
I'm a preemie. Born at 28 weeks in 1974. I weighed 1000 grams. 2.2 lbs.
I also went through high risk pregnancies and had to live in hospital.
I've been silently watching and cheering for you guys. You are amazing people and you are amazing parents already! Love and light to you.
The chances of a preemie surviving in 1974… 🤯 You’re a literal walking miracle. Wherever you were, the NICU def knew what they were doing. 🏆
My sister was 2.5 lbs in 1962. She lived 53 years.
I was a 2 lb preemie in 1968. 57 still here with kids of my own.❤
I’m a preemie too! 2.5lbs born in 1965 and just turned 60yrs old last November. 😊
I had 33 week twins 13 years ago. That's not the point. 😅
Have any of you seen the project a photographer did with preemies? The adults and children had their pictures taken while they held their NICU photo. It was precious! I had my twins hold their first pictures and the Picture People took the photos. I share it with parents who are waiting for their NICU kids to grow. ❤
Hang in there little Lion 🦁 All your internet aunties and uncles from all around the world are praying for you 🙏🏻💙
Absolutely, beautiful sentiment❤
Yes..we are!!!
For real this baby has the BIGGEST family!!!
Lion for sure! Baby Leo!!
Prayers for you sent from kildare lreland ❤
My friend had a 34w 3d baby boy & she had been in the hospital for 7 wks before she delivered . She had met the NICU Drs & nurses and toured NICU prior to his birth.
When he was born, they took him to NICU, THEN ….. 2 hours later they brought him down to her and said “As much as we adore this little guy, he doesn’t belong w/us, he’s all yours!”
He didn’t need any NICU care ❤❤❤
That's an incredible situation and such a nice way putting it ❤
I had a 35 week 0 day baby and he didn't need any NICU care. Each baby is different.
@DK-zy1tp yep, many babies do very well when born after 34wks
I am hoping for this outcome ❤
I had a 35 weeker who had so many issues he was in hospital for the first year of his life. Now as an 11 year old he is on end of life care. While the weeks are super important they don’t always mean much like that.
each week, each day, each hour, each minute...is a PLUS.
Amen!! I wish I had stayed in 11 more weeks many many years ago!!!
I get a big sigh of relief when I see a new video pop up.🥰
Me 2 😊
I went into preterm labor at 28 weeks. Put on magnesium to stop contractions. Was admitted to hopefully make it to at least 34 weeks. She came at 29 weeks with an emergency c-section. She was 2 lbs 5 oz. Stayed in the NICU 7 weeks and came home at 4 lbs 5 oz. That was 28 years ago. She is now a civil engineer. Premies are strong because they have to be. The NICU nurses are amazing!
Magnesium will work. Hopefully, they will give her that.
Oh I love this! Thank you for sharing your story. My daughter was my 10th pregnancy (after multiple miscarriages). She was always tiny in utero and they prepared me for her to maybe not survive. She was born 9 weeks early (so I was 31 weeks) and I had been on bed rest and hospitalized several times for preterm labor bc I had a placenta abruption/subchorionic hemmorage. I got so many steroid injections bc every time I went to the hospital for bleeding, they just shot me up. My cervix was "incompetent" and we knew she would be early but had no clue what to expect. She was 2 lbs 4oz and also spent 7 weeks in the NICU. They tried to send her home before her due date...she wasn't even 4 lbs! I had a hard enough time trying to find a slcar seat to accommodate a 4 lb baby. She was 4lb 2oz when I brought her home and now she's a happy, healthy (short and has a touch of the 'tism) and super intelligent 14 year old. I am looking forward to seeing Jessi and Alessio bring their baby home. ❤ Thanks again for sharing your story ❤
Magnesium is so gnarly. I was on it twice and it was horrible. Felt like my insides were on fire and I was so thirsty but couldn’t have any water.
@littleway24601it made me so weak and I was only on it for two days for pre-eclampsia, when I convinced them that even if the induction finally worked I wouldn't be able to push (luckily, I was already 37 weeks).
My twins 33.2 weeks
Preeclampsia hospitalized at 28
Baby A 4.9pbs nicu 7 days
Baby B 2.10 10days nicu
Both strong!
Now straight A students in college
22 years ago. I won’t forget sound of beeps or smell of hand soap in nicu. It’s all a blur
I LOVEEEEEE how you aren’t just like, “whatever you say Dr.” you advocate, you research, you seek peace. I love this. Protecting that baby and advocating for him even in the womb! ❤
My NICU baby was 2lbs 7oz and she came home Thursday ! Sending love 💗
Congratulations!🎉
Congratulations to you! I’m so glad your baby made it home with you Momma! Good job.
My 2.10 baby came home after 10 days nicu. My husband said it was like strapping a squirrel in a car seat.
She’s now a junior in college 22 & brilliant ❤️♥️
❤
So awesome! Hope you get to read these comments when up for a 2 am feeding ❤
The way your face lit up when you talked about seeing baby’s face!!!❤❤ All the feels!!!!
Thank you for the frequent updates!!!! We love you ❤
I love how you are thinking of your hospital room as your dorm room. That’s a super great way to think about it. College was fun! Who wouldn’t like to revisit that time in their lives! It’s a great mind set.
I am so glad y’all made it to viability, now here’s to many more weeks! Hang in there Jessi. I know boredom will set in, crochet, knit, pick up other hobbies that you can do sitting down.
Me and my whole church family are praying for you all through our prayer chain! I'm so glad you made it to 24 weeks and I pray that you make it as far as possible and that little one will not need such a long NICU stay ❤
I worked for 40 years in the Birthing center at our small community hospital. One time we had a woman come in unexpectedly and deliver a 24 weeker in our triage room before a doctor could get there. Our nurses who were highly trained in neonatal resuscitation immediately got the baby breathing with the help of an Ambu bag and took her to the nursery. The pediatrician arrived quickly and by the time the team came from the tertiary center to get her she was stable on a ventilator. They were amazed by how stable and ready to go she was. I only tell you this story so I can tell you that maybe 15 years later that "baby" came to visit us and she was in high school taking regular courses. Her mother brought her back to see us periodically after she left the NICU.
Stay in there, little lion! Your parents are amazing.
I was born 1986 only with 25 weeks. Is going to be fine.
Claiming that 34 week plan with you guys! God bless you!
Praying in agreement with you 34 weeks!!!
My 25 year old son is a 23 weeker, 1lb 2oz. You've got this!
OMG! Back then, it must have been even closer to a miracle than it is nowadays!
My 46 yr old daughter was born at 6 months 1 pound 8 oz and stayed in the NICK U until she was 4 pounds she had tubes in her lungs but she is healthy today with 3 children all in their 20's but she also had 2 premature babies they are 26B 24B 22G and they are all healthy ❤️
You are glowing. Ditch the worry as much as you can and trust the expertise and prayers that surround you. Show others what it is like to walk through a challenging experience with grace, gratitude and peace. We are all praying for you Both.
My triplet niece and nephews were born at 24 weeks, 9 years ago. They are incredibly healthy. I know you all are incredibly scared, but I have faith your little man will be perfect. Always praying for you!
Baby Boy is a WARRIOR - I love these updates and am praying for everyone's safety. Enjoy your rest time, once he is here you will be working on no sleep. Keep being a creator, journal this time and rest rest rest. Much Love!
My uterus was contracting in the first few weeks of pregnancy and I was bleeding. I was living in Italy at the time and the Drs immediately put me on medicine to stop my contractions and stop the bleeding. My son was born full term weighing and healthy 8lb 7oz (3 kilo 750g). He will be 34 years of age this year.
Sending you both lots of love and prayers for a positive outcome. ❤🙏❤️
Our's were born (twins) at 24 weeks. One thing they didn't tell us, the baby will NOT cry, they will be rushed out of the room to be set up in an incubator. It is not a bad sign, don't let Alessio panic (like I did), it is all for good. You got this, hang in there, we are praying for you.
Did you get the steroid shots?
Really helpful information 🙏🙏
I'm hooked on checking in on your much appreciated updates. Your all covered in prayers. You should be proud of yourselves! Your handling this with faith & grace. Hubby needs to take care of himself as well. Is there a way to get your kitty baby in for visit? It would be good for both of you. Ask Dr for an ESA letter. I brought our doggie to visit my hubby in hospital & it was good for them both. He needs to see mom & vice versa. God watch over you.❤
What were the long term effects? How are their lungs eyes and nervous systems?
@NicoleCopeland-j4bIn a prevous video, she said she did.
My son was born at 28 weeks by caesarean weighing just under 2lb (went down to 1 and 1/2 during his first few weeks) He was in NICU for almost 5 months and came home on oxygen. He is 30 next month!! A new ventilator they’d only got the week before he was born, saved his life and the amazing team led by his neonatologist who had only started a short while before…our miracle 😊
"March" comes in like a Lion as the old saying goes.
Prayers, you three. 🙏❤️🙏
Some times March comes in as lamb ends as LION!
I love the board in the back saying 'stay pregnant as long as possible', you got this.
My daughter was born at 26 weeks 21 years ago, and she is the strongest, healthiest person i know. Im sending my love to you guys every day❤
Twins 👯♂️
One 4.9
Other 2.10
2.10 never sick never weak
She was tough from day one.
She’s 22yrs old now
My first son was diagnosed at 29 weeks with congenital heart disease and arrhythmia issues. This was 1989. I was in the hospital for a month before he was born - to save his life. I was in a high risk unit with mostly moms of twins who all had their babies successfully and one by one left me. I was 28. NO family in the area and husband travelling for work. In the big city. Very much alone. NO social media. No cell phones. I made it with the love and care of the nursing team. They became my family. After he was born, he was taken from me and rushed to the children's hospital ... I did not even get to see him. He was very sick ... fast forward - almost 37 years and three open hearts and more surgeries later -- he is here. Hold tight to your faith ... everything will be OK.
Omg your son is a testimony. I have a daughter with HLHS and she has to have 3 surgeries. She’s had 2/3 and her cardiologists talk about the time that those procedures were done and how it changed the course of life for children with heart defects. Idk if they are the same ones but she’s had the Norwood and The Glenn. When she’s 3 she has to get the Fontan. But either way I love your testimony because that was a defining time in history ❤
The baby tryed to cover his face because he doesn’t like paparazzi!🤣😉
😂😂
😂😂😂🙌🏼
Paparazzi is already a plural form. Skip the "s" at the end.
@Ifitnotoh, thank you! Learning something new every day. (English is not my native language. )
@Gwtutdon't worry, it's not even English - it's Italian (or Latin). And there are other Italian words we use in English that we don't follow the Italian pluralization rules.
Praying for lots more peaceful growing Saturdays!
We are believing for 32 weeks! Continued prayers for Jessi and baby boy for things to go smoothly with no complications...and for Alessio for peace and strength.
I’m going for 34
This visualization board made me tear up. Hoping that everything in that list comes true for you! Truly!!
Love, especially to Jessi, from Portugal.
Having “goals” is great, but remember, there’s nothing more you can do to make them happen. If they don’t happen, you didn’t fail. Maybe instead of goals, call them “hopes”
You look like you are glowing, that has to be a good sign. Prayers for you all.
Yay 24 weeks!! What a wonderful milestone for baby boy ❤
Your story just proves what a miracle the birth of a child is to us. It is such a blessing. I’m praying for all three of you!
24 weeks is great! I've been watching all of your updates and praying for you, and this is good news! ❤❤❤
I am 32 weeks pregnant and I broke down in tears when I read we will be alive and thriving, thats all we need.
When you get to the NICU stage, know you can request to do the first bottle feeding, first bath, etc! Don’t be afraid to request to be there for those important moments! So many NICU parents just assume the nurses just do that without you, but they will do everything they can to accommodate you being there if you request! I’m so glad I did that for our daughter’s first bottle feed - a moment we would never forget!
That's so important! My son was born at 29 weeks. 1 lb 15 oz, he turned 22 last week 😊, I didn't hold him for almost 2 weeks. The nurses asked me why I hadn't held him yet. I instantly started crying. I froze. Unable to fully explain that I didn't know I was allowed too. Not even 5 minutes later he was in my arms. It was the most surreal moment of my life. To this day I have a picture of that moment on my wall.
I was one of those parents that didnt know about the first bath first feeding etc I was on bed rest cause of a tare. I was very bummed out. I was 25 and 2 days with my baby boy
@madisongriffin6539I was 26 years old. I remember the moment the nurse said "well honey. He belongs to you. NEVER let anyone stand between you and your son" I took that literally. He's the only reason I breathe most days. Even after he's married with sons of his own I will protect him with my life
This! My 7th is a heart baby and he spent 6 weeks in the NICU/ PICCU after surgery. But the staff were so good about letting us help with his care and especially kangaroo care ( skin to skin) dad and mom both can do this! If baby is stable enough
@dqst2012kangaroo care is magical ❣️
How smart to write it out and have it visible.
One thing that brought comfort and reduction in stress levels when my sister was hospitalized for months was bringing two table lamps from her bedroom with a soft lightbulbs. Staff was accommodating and allowed the bright lights to be off unless needed which was rare. Maybe we are just sensitive to lighting, but it honestly helped both of us with stress. You and baby Lion are getting such great care! Don't forget occasional treats for the staff, Alessio. Treats are always appreciated.
Yes and its possible to get a little lamp from Strainless lighting with an incandescent bulb. I think they are sold out rn tho. I have 2 of their little lamps and the light is so soothing.
And hopefully someone is taking care of Alessio, too! Being the caregiver is exhausting in its own way!
Yes!!! I’m a nurse and walking into patient rooms who brought a floor lamp or table lamps was always so soothing! The soft light is so much more cozy than the ultra bright overhead florescent lights! Bring a quilt from home and some wedding pics and anything that makes it feel homey! Your nurses will be drawn to the comfort of your room. Take care of each other! Rooting for you three!
@p-dubya So much better than those bright white lights. The other thing we did was cover up the "art work" on the walls with her shawls and large scarves I brought from her house. Those framed art pieces were hideous to my art major sister, lol.
My grandson was in the NICU for 164 days. Those nurses (saints in my book) will become your family. I’m still in touch with them through Facebook. Prayers that little man stays put until his birth is scheduled. ❤️
Every additional safe day is a gift! Best wishes, keep on!
Thank you so much for the update!!! Jessi, you are still glowing!! I have ya'll in my every prayer!!! 🙌💗💙💙🐈⬛
Thank you for all of the updates. This is something you're not obligated to do, but we really appreciate it. I'm so glad you made it to 24 weeks. I've nicked named him Little Leo the Lion 🦁.. Just keep doing what you are doing!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for the lovely update. I can see the peace settling over you - while you rest and prepare for your little man’s arrival. This baby will have some awesome record of his creation. Sending hugs and positive vibes your way.
Hey guys, I just retired from the medical field. 30 years. I already know that you were gonna have a healthy baby boy. You are still glowing and looking stronger every day. I read eyes and color of the face. You look amazing praying for you every day. Thank you so much for keeping us updated. I really appreciate it. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you, Gail Scanlon.
I AGREE WITH YOU 1 BILLION %❤
Same. I was just thinking how Jesse is just glowing, so bright and healthy! ❤
My little twin boys came unexpectedly at 28 weeks and spent 3 long months in NICU in UK. They’ve saved them, and from 0 points Apgar at birth we’re now at two years and a half of healthy and fierce Leo and Oli😊
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you and praying ❤ sending lots of love xxx
Uncle Dennis loves the three of you and has total faith that we will get through this with a beautiful baby boy.
Happy Viability Week! You're knocking these milestones out one by one and doing a great job! I'm so happy for you. Thank you for giving us updates. We are praying for you guys and baby.

🥰 Ahhhh got to see his face! Glad all is going well!
To viability and beyond! Patience.
My daughters were both born at 29 weeks, five years apart. 3.3 lbs and 3.9 lbs. They were in the NICU for 8 weeks each and they are both healthy and thriving today! Praying you get to 28 weeks or longer!!!
Remember, you have so many prayers storming heaven for you and your baby.
Love the info on peri-viability! So glad you were in a hospital that would intervene during those earlier weeks. All the fingers crossed for all three of you.
Praying for 28 weeks!!! You're almost there!

Praying for you all and making it to 34 weeks! Congrats for 24 weeks!
My first child was born at 32 weeks due to a placenta abruption. It was an emergency, but it wasn’t diagnosed for over 24 hours because I had no bleeding. Thank God, he is now 25 years old and totally healthy. He spent a month in the NICU. NICU teams are so amazing!
I have a friend who delivered at 21 weeks. Her miracle baby is not two years old. He has some health issues, but he is such a happy boy and so loved by his parents and siblings.
You got this, lots of prayers coming your way!
Praying, praying for you and baby boy, yay 24 weeks 🙏🙏🙏✝️

Rosary everyday for Baby Boy ( strength of a Lion)!❤❤
I love that you wrote a plan - and it’s a comprehensive, beautiful plan - and that you shared it with us so we can pray for your plan. ❤
Praying for a long pregnancy !
I love your affirmations. The more you visualize positivity, the more your body will remain calm and continue on a positive path. Love and prayers for y’all! ❤
Love how you both have this mindset that this is like going back to the college dorm rooms Jessi, that will be helpful in the journey you are taking to deliver your little one to the world.
You are in exactly the right place, Jessi. You are getting daily care and check-ups and the Little Lion is making us all proud every single day. Praying, my love - always.
I am pregnant myself and I think about you a lot, I send you all my prayers.
The decisions you make and what you have to endure is not easy but I find you incredible and strong. I send you all my strength

On your toes for the rest of your life.
Huge congratulations ❤❤❤🎉🎉
God has His hand on baby boy. He sends you people to encourage you exactly when you need it. The doctor that spoke so calmly and answered your questions was a blessing. Prayers always!
My twins were in the nicu for 48 days in the spring. Best experience I could have asked for! They took such good care of the girls and they came home ready and healthy ❤
I had placenta previa, we made it to 33 weeks. My son looked like a giant in the NICU! He was released and we went home 3 days after he was born. I wish the same for you ❤️
My prayers are with you guys, you are wonderful and deserve to be happy like no one else!
My cousin had a 26 weeker, she’s a year and a half old now and doing great!
Thinking of you everyday. My daughter went through something very similar, in that she was hospitalized at 23 weeks and had to make it to 24 weeks before they would consider the baby viable. At that point they took her from the small town she was in to the city so she could be in a hospital with a NICU. She made it to 26 weeks before our little guy said its time and was taken by C-Section knowing he could not go through the birthing process. He weighed 1 pound and a half or a bit more and was 11 inches long. It was a long stretch but he made it through. You could see the growth everyday. After 4 plus months in the NICU he got up to 6 pounds and was allowed to go home on oxygen. He thrived without issues. He is 17 years old and is 6 feet 9 inches tall so just because they are a premie doesn't mean they will always be small. He had some ADD issues when young but has since outgrown those and is like every other 17 year old. Every story is different, but hearing other's journeys can be helpful.
Omg goodness! 6’9”!! And I thought my grocery was expensive trying to fill up a 6’2” 17 year old! 😂. Amazing!
Praying 🙏 for you guys happy to see you happy getting to see your baby’s face for the first time 🥹
