In north California! It gets cold but warm. My mom gave me a twin duvet from Eddie Bauer when I was a kid, I missed it but my dog actually punctured it. We recently bought a new one it’s nice. A good duvet cover makes a very amazing difference. We bought a Globon.

I believe the “shell” is really important, it sounds sturdy and crinkly in my experience

I'm looking into the saatva all year comforter or the new saatva light weight comforter. I like the looks of the all year. But worry it may be to warm. They say it is 340 gsm. The light weight is 220 gsm. I sleep warm but the all year looks so much more comfy than the lightweight. Can you give me your view?

Dosnt using a duvet covenr cancel out the benefit of breathability? Especially if oyu use a cheaper micro fiber one? I am spending quite a bit on a down comforter and cant find a teal one thats good quality so all I can afford is a cheaper duvet cover!

The saatva sight for the comforter says it's almost 10 pounds does that weight mean it's warm or is it a breathable 10 lb cool

@@shawnblanchard4512 I purchased the new saatva light weight duvet. It's awesome. It still can get a bit warm, but not to warm. I'm going through menopause so I just put a tencil sheet between me and the comforter with the percale duvet cover, and it's perfect. I cannot and would not want to know how warm the all year round comforter duvet insert is it would definitely be too warm for me.

In the olden days you periodically put out your comforters or quilts to let the air and the sun disinfect and air out odors. Wash once a year. Granted our items are not durable at all like they used to be, we wash more often now anything that touches our skin. But really you don't have to. Washing does create more ware & tare on material. Unless you're obsessed with cleanliness then by all means wash often. ***the higher the thread count the less noisy and less dust settling inside the duvet: so the use of duvet COVERS comes in. Without the cover you get the dust, dander, mite absorbed thru a less thread count & exaggerates existing allergies. Cotton also yellows over time and also body oils help it yellow faster too. Cover that baby. I had a down comforter for 10 yrs without a cover and boy it sure did look & smell rough. That was before I educated myself on the care of goose down. I washed that goose down often & it created mold in some pockets. The dryer also melted the down in some spots and if you have feathers added in the mix they melt a lot faster. Duck or goose down is meant to last a long time therefore you need to care for it properly and know what your getting into w down.
