Amazing room/setup. I really wish there was a store in the NT that had even just some of the krix gear, sadly there is only a custom installer. Id like to hear and see a few of the different models of in ceiling & in wall speakers before purchasing blind.
Awesome mate - amazing room and nice upgrades, those subs look mean. I can personally attest to Leo’s calibration skills, the man is genius hit him up!
Looks like the rears surrounds are very close to the side wall. 1/3 the length of the wall is optimal. IMO, it creates a little better separation from the side surrounds.
This room is one of the best I’ve heard. Leo has placed the speakers pretty spot on - possibly could be the camera angles but yeah this room is incredible b
Awesome video, awesome updates, and awesome bloke! Congrats on the new Valencia. They really make your room pop nicely. It’s also gives it a classy look that helps refine all of the hard work you’ve put into it. I’m looking for HVAC and ventilation options for my room. 1 supply air vent does not cut it. My ceiling is finished and I can’t run more duct work. I like the idea of venting hot air out and possibly venting fresh air in. I’m on an outside wall in my basement and I can fairly easily and some duct work for venting. Gives me some nice ideas to plan it. I look forward to the calibration video since I’m planning to work with you soon to calibrate my projector. Congrats on an awesome room!!
I had to cut out the part where we discussed that sadly as the video was around 45 minutes, but yes, Leo painted the handles so it matched the rest of his rack.
I like the door solution for sound escaping. Personally, I bought an external solid core door with those seals already installed, but my door isn't as nice as yours. Have you ever considered going ATS to remove the front speakers from showing at all?
Yep, I don’t form friendships with everyone I meet through RUclips but I’ve made some great friends who live close enough that we can hang out and share our love of the hobby.
nice subs bra, they would make that room rumble better than any cinema, question - with the upgrade itch, I guess your next upgrade will be an MadVR Envy Pro ;) :D
The Crown XLS dont have a standard trigger input, but do have headers the sleep the unit when bridged. you can use trigger > relay (using NC connection) to open this connection. This video explains it and shows how much power you can save. ruclips.net/video/hjK6cMlUTVc/видео.html
Is 3.1m the viewing distance? Is the first row your main seating position and roughly how far back from the screen is the second row of seats? Sorry for all the questions, but in the process of setting a room with the same dimensions as yours.
@@leander744 I got a JVC NP5 a few weeks after Tony did, and I was planning on hiring you to calibrate it... but after seeing the out of box performance in "Filmmaker Mode" I'm in no hurry to do so, because It's already the best looking projected image I've ever seen!
@Leo Gstrein thanks for the reply. Can you point me to the device(s) used to do it? Or any advice would be much appreciated. I'm running a crown stack and it drives me bonkers to have everything on by the harmony but have to walk into another room to switch the amps on. Thanks Tim.
I would like to do a blind test where: 1. Room A would have a crazy amplifier/speaker setup like this 2. Room B would have a normal good quality home theater amplifier with good set of speakers, aka a "normal" good quality setup. It would be very interesting to listen to how much a difference this kind of crazy setup can make VS a normal setup which is a fraction of this cost. So basically how big are the diminishing returns when you start pouring money into the equipment and where is the sweet spot. I'm after the most bang for your buck, or "good enough" with the sweet spot in mind where you don't pay for very little improvements which you can't even hear or get used to very quickly and don't even notice after awhile. That's money wasted in my mind.
Not sure about a blind test but personally Ive heard a lot of rooms. Cheaper gear/speakers can sound great, don't get me wrong, but there is a reason the good stuff costs more... In fairness, good speaker placement and room acoustics to make up a lot of the good sound you hear but high quality amplifiers, processors, and speakers will enhance the experience. I am of the school of buy what you can afford and make it work!

I cannot get enough of your videos, Tony! Aspirational stuff for me in the U.K. Well done, Leo! It all looks .. and I’m sure sounds .. awesome! 👍

Very nice set-up especially the Krix subwoofers they must give a great punch in the chest like watching Godzilla vs Kong . Thank you for showing us .

Great home theater! I’m a bit curious if I heard correctly you’re moving from the JVC N7 to the NP5?
No, Leo has the n7 and I personally upgraded to the np5 in my room.

Yep Leo painted it :) Looks mint!

Wouldn’t the Shiny carbon fiber tray table reflect the screen images?
Nope - never had for me. Probably the angle
What would the total cost and What would one do to afford all of this? Very very nice room.

@leander744 yeah the house entrance door.
Great, love the videos from down under.

The answer will obviously be no, but it looks like the screen is sitting on the sub box. Don't you get vibrations in the screen from the sub?
No vibrations, its sitting just under the screen. I watched a few movies here and noticed no vibration.
No there is a small gap between screen and subs .
