Super guide, beautiful work friends. I recommend checking the adblue injector and cleaning it with warm water, as well as vacuuming the opening in the exhaust.
Very. Lean and useful video, english special instructions below were also helpful. Can you please upload a video to show how to clean the AC Evaporator with foam cleaner without removing or making a drill hole for W205 ? Where to locate the Evaporator drain pipe in W205 ? How to clear it if it is clogged ?
Hi there, thanks for the comment. To be honest its not a video i have planned, best to purchase a service manual for this car or ask on the owners clubs. Im not 100% familiar with mercs so wont make any claims to know about its AC system.
Yeah my driver side is lightly squeaking when turning and over bumps. Used wd40 for now and the noise is gone as its not that bad but will change next service.
Excellent video, thanks a lot 🙂 Just one additional info: On some w205 C 220d (eg mine) you need to pusch 3 buttons to access the service menu; ruclips.net/video/xRPZlhQYMAU/видео.html - Turn key to position one - The menu must show as in video, change it if its not showing the same view. - Hold simultaneous the buttons "OK" + "Tele accept" + "Tele hangup" buttons. Hi, the oil filter housing unit .. the centre shaft part why does that wiggle from side to side? Like has a little play in it? The shaft that the paper filter slides on to
i have 2019 sprinter . fuel filter has shorter hose comming out of it . i thought it was for bleeding air or priming with hand pump for brakes. everyone on youtube primes with ignition on of on of . in older mercedes i was just filling filter with diesel before fitting . now i dont know ..
Hi, it depends on the setup. If there is an electric pump in the tank then it will fill the filter housing by turning on/off the ignition as shown here. I know that on my berlingo 1.6 it did not have an in tank pump and to prime the filter you had to push a button on top of the filter housing to prime it. If the button did not work then a grenade style fuel pump had to be used to draw the fuel into the filter housing.
@@sundek88 i will be honest, i am unable to explain them. I know they relate to certain items that are recommended but i would have to google them to refresh what they all mean. Generally i service this car for my dad around the same time every year, he is doing under 8000 miles between services. I am not too sure, this c class went to an independent Mercedes specialist in the first few years my dad had it to keep up with the warranty. He could have changed them to make them easier to work on for subsequent services, click r clamps are a bit of a hassle for something that has to come off. However VW use jubilee clamps on their fuel filter housings so possibly Mercedes did also. I seem them used on various PSA cars typically on hoses that are not due to come off as frequently its possible to get a knack for removing and reinstalling them with a pair of side cutters, i can manage them now but there are also special pliers specifically for them.

Hi there To be honest i cant actually remember what oil was used, my dad still gets the oil from the local mercedes delaler, its not really much more expensive than the motor factors and at least they have the recommended stuff for this engine.
Hi there, not too sure my dad had it done by a Mercedes specialist. The car flashed it up on the instrument cluster screen that it was due. From memory it had not covered 50k Miles at that stage.
Hi there, generally every service. Although take the old one out and inspect it, if its still fairly clean it might do 2 years. It is the condensation and bacteria if the AC is used that is more of a concern than bits of leaves which is why i prefer to change them at every service.
Hi there, Northern Ireland Although im a hobby mechanic, i dont offer this work beyond family and friends, have plenty with the day job keeping me busy.
I do not know, my dad bought the oil from the Mercedes dealership. I think approximately £50, not much difference in price between there and a motor factors.
Talk about cheap,,,A plastic sump with a plastic sump plug,,,So much for Mercedes being a premium brand,,,,I have a Dacia duster,,My sump is steel ,With a steel sump plug,Plus my undertray is also a heavy gauge steel,,I'll never understand why people pay crazy money for poorly and cheaply made junk....
In fairness to drive they still feel like a premium product, there are a lot of nicely engineered small things that all add up to make it quite nice. My dad has had this now 7 years and bar the usual consumables, a NOx sensor and two front arms its been no worse than anything else. Not sure why they use that material, plastic is doing it a bit of a disservice as its some sort of GFRP composite, so far it seems to have held up, in the same way a lot of cars have "plastic" valve covers which can do the job it seems to work grand for this sump, the plugs easy removed and replaced. I suppose technically it wont rust either, and does not leak. I can only assume that it is ease of manufacture perhaps it can be injection moulded faster or into a more intricate shape. I would be interested to know the specific engineering rationale that led to the choice of material.
Hello, which nox sensor did you replace for your dad and was it with a genuine one. I have the same car but 250d same year and error codes suggest bank 1 sensor 1 needs replacing. Just struggling with location of it. Thanks
In fairness it does work, and they would not be the first or only manufacturer to use it. Not sure why, could be cheaper to make, might allow for a more complex shape to be made. Although i would personally prefer to see aluminium especially from a recycling standpoint at least it could be reused, GFRP is quite difficult to recycle.
Plastic components in the engine bay are nothing new or just used by Mercedes Generally its for pedestrian safety and crash ratings, if the likes of the inlet manifold and intake pipes were hard aluminium it would cause problems, plastic will break easier on impact. However its generally designed to be strong enough in service. Not sure why the sump needs to be plastic but it has not yet caused any issues. They will have engineered it no doubt, while we say plastic the exact material used is most likely some form of glass fibre reinforced composite which is intended to cope with the heat cycles and oil exposure.
As mentioned already its no better or worse than any other modern car. Crash protection, pedestrian safety, ease of manufacture, weight savings for fuel economy standards mean manufacturers have to use plastics. It depends on the exact composition of the plastic, what sort of composite it is. If engineered well enough it can do the job of an aluminium part quite well, unfortunately some manufacturers use poorly chosen plastics in critical areas such as coolant unions where they may crack.
Best video ever! No nonsense talk, just clear work! Thank you very much! Loved it all!
Great video, no messing about. I had no idea these cars have plastic sumps. About to service mine and this is a great help.
Thanks for the comment.
Yep a lot of modern cars now use plastic (it tends to be glass fibre reinforced plastic) for their sumps.
