This was a beautiful cover by Taka. I think he sang it in the original key. He also covered "Easy on Me" by Adele. I'm glad you enjoy OOR. They are great and their live performances are so full of energy and usually better than the studio versions.

There is a version of "We Are " for 18 year Olds (18Fes) that is even better than their Ambitions live version. The premise is that 1000 18 year Olds were invited to sing that song with them for NHK TV audiences.
Interesting you mentioned country. Taka's parents are both "Enka" singers (and legends to older generations of Japanese Enka fans). Enka is a genre of songs that has a traditional Japanese feel. It's kind of like the ethos in Enka songs is to Japanese people as that in country songs is to Americans, though they are musically very very different. I have never heard Taka sing an Enka song, but if he ever did, he would be greate at it, too, … possibly better than his parents.

Taka is such a versatile vocalist. You've not even heard him sing a rock song yet haha. Check out "The Beginning" at Eye of the Storm Japan Tour or "Mighty Long Fall" at 35xxxv Japan Tour. The guy can serenade to you and also get you head banging.
Have you heard "Heartache" (jam session) and "Kasabuta" by OOR? Truly beautiful... and heartbreaking, even if you don't know the meaning of the song. Taka's voice is a gift. It can go soft and hard. And crazily stable on concert, though with 17 rock songs.

I'm very happy you found OOR and enjoy them as much as we do :) I also agree that they're better live, owning their BDs is such a game changer. I must have some hearing issues, this guy is good but for some reason his voice doesn't trigger my emotional side as much as Morissette, Gabriel Henrique, Chakra Kan, Lara Fabian or Adele herself.
To be fair neither one of us liked this one as much as we’ve loved him in the other songs we listened to. If you haven’t yet, I’d love you to check out our reaction to the band doing We Are and let me know what you think. It’s a totally different tone from him, and it’s soooo beautiful.

I like one ok rock but not the industry they are very strict and closed which is a shame.
I have to be honest, I didn't make it thru the entire performance. Just something about his tone just hits my ears wrong.
He is a rock vocalist. So, that is why I think for your ears he is not that suitable for pop songs. Tho, for me, he is really a versatile vocalist.
It was a definitely different change from adele. If you ever get a chance listen to the we are reaction we put up. Holy smokes is he good!

It might be because of the frequency of his voice when he sings this song.
I like his cover of "Hello," but I turn the volume down when I listen to it.
I may be the only one who feels this, but it feels like his voice resonates directly into my brain.
It's strange because I don't feel it in his other songs. I would like someone to analyze it.
