I only saw melanie once live around this time back in 02 in NYC she did alot of home shows for them back in the day just brings me to tears that someone captured this from almost 20 years ago

Thank you! 1000 times thank you. I listen to this song since I’m 13 years old and is the very first time that I actually see the female singer performing with FATA. Thank you so much, brother.
They're saying it's nice too remember the nostalgia of pre social media and always recording stuff. Back in the day it was lighters during a ballad... Now it's all people recording it for clicks and whatever
I swear no lie. Saw them (and Meilane) at CBGB. Around the same time. In order the show was Scissor fight, Unearth, From Autumn to Ashes and Shadows Fall. I remember her coming on stage and she sounded like an angel. Captivating
Considering he left and didn't get dropped I doubt it. he left them in the lurch and they had to record "abandon all your friends" hastily without him. I still think "too bad you're beautiful" is their best album tho. Their vocals together is chef's kiss
I was at this show & I remember how fucking packed it was. The sound was so much better being in the crowd....& it was brick outside like it is now. \m/
Whoa whi a Whoa…they got BACK TOGETHER?!?!?! Holy SHIT!! I’m traveling ANYWHERE in US to catch them, one of my favorite all-time bands, was beyond Crushed when they went on “extended hiatus”. (I say extended, only b/c the time stamps seem to prove that the hiatus ended, though until 3 min ago I thought it was permanent.
I was going to see them at Sounds of the Underground 2005 in Tulsa but they dropped off right before my date. I think it was maybe a year later and I saw them at Warped Tour. Last year with Benjamin singing then Francis took over vocals. The album Holding A Wolf By the Ears was really good too. They need to come back and do some stuff. Or at least get their debut album on vinyl.
Awesome band, awesome songs, too bad the sound quality is so horrible! There's so much mid and upper mids. I hear only treble and the bass is all tinny. I must say though, thanks for the upload hate5six! I wish I could have seen that show live.
this band was SO much better off when Fran took over main vocals. His writing is literally second to none and its a shame this band faded away. Although an absolute MONSTER on the drums, he was a far better front man than the dad bod squelching into the fkn mic.
Seeing Thrice live yesterday sent me down a rabbit hole searching for music I listened to forever ago. Great nostalgia kick.
I was talking about Thrice the other day.. Glad too hear they're still together.. Although I am commenting on a 2 year old post lol
The only live footage of "Short Stories... " with Melanie as guest vocalist. I saw a lot of rare stuff in the last 15 years but never with Melanie.
i was there. place had chills.
Weird to me. Growing up on Long Island I don't think I ever saw them play short stories without Melanie there (before Ben left the band)
LI represent
19:33 oh wow and they brought out Melanie as the guest vocalist
She is so underrated as a good vocalist. I was a fan of One True Thing as well.
This shook me to my core when the camera panned to her... shit got real
Lovely voice. I wonder if she still makes music.
good times!!!
This is high school relived.
What are some modern bands you enjoy?
@@nathanlozano5100 top picks would be Loathe, Spiritbox, and Northlane.

It’s officially been 20 years.
i haven't clicked this fast since the old school Thursday video 🙂

This band deserves so much more love, they're incredible !
i know they did a one off reunion couple of years back, im hoping for a mini tour ... would love to see them live
@@zombiespongebob6903 They'll never have that tour in my country though but I guess, if you're in the NY area, you're one of the luckiest !!! 💚
Thank you for this, nostalgia x100

total time capsule to my youth
CAPTIVATED. Growing up listening to this band I never knew they did a live version with Melanie. WOW THANK YOU GREG.
No one holding their phones up the entire show 🥲
it was 2002 what phone would they hold up, nokia 3310? 😅
They're saying it's nice too remember the nostalgia of pre social media and always recording stuff. Back in the day it was lighters during a ballad... Now it's all people recording it for clicks and whatever
Bro, thank you for documenting all of these shows
In on the first day! What an amazing gift to see this surface after all these years. Reflections is a total Banger!!
the first band i ever saw live, amazing band, you did a great job restoring it considering how old it is
Same here. I saw them at Croc Rock in 02 with Sworn Enemy, Blood Has Been Shed, American Nightmare, and Poison the Well
@@christophersmth07 that is awesome i saw them with divine heresy, shadows fall and killswitch engage, that was in 08
Wow, what a great time for hardcore music!
TBYB is one of the best Hardcore albums ever recorded IMO. Back in the day FATA shows F'ing rocked
not a hardcore band but yeah. VERY good band.
I hate the term 'post' hardcore. Hardcore progressed and this is the outcome
Favorite band forever!!
Did he mention Most Precious Blood on next? Please tell me that’s in the works too
this channel single handedly got me into hardcore
I swear no lie. Saw them (and Meilane) at CBGB. Around the same time. In order the show was Scissor fight, Unearth, From Autumn to Ashes and Shadows Fall. I remember her coming on stage and she sounded like an angel. Captivating
Hello, high school. So nice to see you again.
Does anyone know where to find the version without the girl?
This bring back so many memories. Maybe the beginning of all non mainstream metal/hardcore related music to me.
The one dislike is Benjamin Perri
🤣😂
Lmaaaooo

I was at this show. And Club Krome was one of the most underrated scenes in NJ music history.

Yo I didn’t know you were around for that long. I literally was just looking for some live vids and here’s this gem. One of my favorite bands
I mean he’s been doing this shit since like 07 but he also does tape restoration
i remember this footage with Melanie was making rounds on the forums back in the day. epic stuff.

Is there still a hardcore scene in Tulsa? I haven't been out there since 2012.
This reminds me of being back in Northwest Indiana... early 2000s...
That glassjaw shirt tho
13:44 ❤❤❤
Sideburns, soul patches and chinstraps
This is gold.
13:44 Short Stories With Tragic Endings
Damn bro nostalgic right here
Daaamn almost 20 years ago...
Sswte gave me the fuckin chills man. Her voice. Gat’dam
i would so mosh to after dinner payback. still a banger.
One of the greatest songs ever.
Still gets me pumped to this day!
What a time for great bands and show s
Does anyone remember a show they did with a bunch of bands at Old Bridge? I think Unearth played the same night.
Was that from autumn to ashes, folly, glassjaw, glass eater? I believe? Around the same time frame as this
@@tomsays_hi definitely FATA was there on a separate stage. It was like and indoor festival I think. Multiple bands playing.
@@tomsays_hi I saw them in Philly with unearth and a static lullaby
francis fkin killin it
It's funny that the whole band here is wearing Melanie's band One True Thing t-shirts.
I was there, shit was awesome
WTF - are they back together touring?
i miss fata so much
Yes
I was at this show
Dun dun dun dun dun … CAUGHT MYSELF dun dun dun dun dun … WISHING YOU BACKKKKK

Well it was probably recorded on a cheap camera back in 2002. Just my guess.
Fuck, i'm old.
