Holy crap, whistle #2 (the deep one) was ONLY found on the C&O Berk from the empire builder set from like 15 years ago. Amazing that Lionel unearthed that sound file and stuck it in here. My favorite Lionel whistle of all time.
Great video and review Zac! This is literally the first video I’ve watched on your channel. I like that you keep the review real and honest. It’s an incredible looking locomotive especially all the extra mechanicals up front. Seems like a super smooth runner too! Thanks for sharing the loco and your thoughts!
I’m sure it’s on others, but whistle 3 was on the Dreyfuss too. That’s the one I use on it. Muffin sent me the invoice for mine yesterday, so I should have mine soon! Great video!
Balanced review Zack makes me not as upset I haven't gotten one of these yet. I wanted to be more picky with what I look for in the future and was deciding if I get the A1 Santa Fe Berk or this engine. Still up in the air but food for thought. Plus the new catalog on the horizon. Thanks for the review!
Buyers remorse ! yeah happens to all of us ! I just did a spontaneous buy with the E6 Southern crescent and was like I should have gotten the B&O ! Anyways … nice review ! Kinda mixed on feelings on it myself
I paid my pre-order invoice yesterday, but have a few more weeks to wait until it is "medium" weathered by Mr. Heike at Mr. Muffin's trains. I ordered the Pere Marquette #730, and the next few weeks will seem like an eternity.
A very good review! That locomotive is great looking and the detail is quite nice, for sure. Although I'm a Pennsy fan and think that their motive power is the best, the C&O steam engines, with the mechanical's on the smoke-box, just look tough. I agree with your opinion on the price. It really should have come in under a grand, especially if they are using much of the tooling from the TMCC version. Either way, it's a fine addition to any layout. An excellent video, as always.
I agree with your thoughts but part of the trouble was the pictures of this engine made it appear 12' tall. As it is in real life...haha i got the Halloween version as its the best Halloween item going so far. With this and the New Berkshire 777 on my table the Berk wins hands down. Pure beauty and the beast.
I agree with you regarding the tender, it looks awesome. As you know I am the post war and conventional guy so the cost of the legacy engines are just too much for me. If I had the money and was going to buy a legacy engine, I don’t know if this would be the one. It looks awesome and the features are cool. I enjoyed your review and glad I got a look at it, but since I don’t do legacy I can’t offer my honest opinion because I am not versed or do I own a legacy. AWESOME JOB with your review and keep them coming👍🙏🔥💪❤️🇺🇸
Solid review👌I agree Lionel definitely offers better engines than this. Hell, the A1 Berk has more details. The Vanderbilt tender is awesome, and I like them cause SP used them. It's refreshing to have an opinion that doesn't say, THIS IS THE BEST THING LIONEL, OR ANYONE HAS EVER DONE! I can think of several steamers I would purchase before this one, but it is nice.

That whistle is also on the newest release of the Berks.
@ SWEET! I love that Lionel has brought this whistle back. It was one of the rarest sound files they had.

Hey Mike. Thanks for watching.

Great locomotive 🚂🚋🚃🚋🚃🚋
You are welcome
Great video! I bought two of them and have a set of Lionel C&O heavyweight passenger cars for them to pull from 2023. Thanks for sharing!
Nice. I bet those cars look nice.
Smoke looked great, the marker lights definitely seem to be getting better. Thanks for another good review!
Yeah the markers are slowly getting better.
👍🏻✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️awesome looking locomotive 🚂
Thanks.

Absolutely no problem. Thanks for watching. This is why I try to be honest and not tell you it’s the most perfect thing made.
I’m one of the 7! For me I thought it was a good bang for your buck! Another great video man!
Thanks man. I appreciate you watching.

It does happen. But that’s part of the hobby. I agree you should have got the B&O. 😎
That whistle is on the mohawk and the Dreyfus. I think it’s a New York Central one
I think you are correct

I bet they will seem like a long time. I hope the weathering comes out really nice for you.

@ Absolutely my friend!👍👍🙏💪❤️💪🇺🇸
I'm with you. Berk 777 now thats a killer engine.
I should have skipped the F19 and just got 2 Berks 😩
They seem to use the same 5 whistles on a bunch of other engines but you have a beautiful engine
I wish they would had some different whistles to their rotation. I do like that at least give you 5 to choose from. Thanks for the comment.
Whistle #4 is Nickle Plate Road 765
That’s kind of what I was thinking but it dosent sound exactly the same as my 765. But I think you are right.

Great comment salty. Thanks for watching sir.
