Dharma Bumps: #04 Funky looping with Sp-404sx and thrift shop gear

Playing with a bunch of second hand gear to make a funky loop. Using SP-404sx and OG, some Boss pedals (Delay and Auto Wha), the Boss RC-505 looper, a Casiotone, and this keyboard called a Rythmic 6 apparently made by a kids education tech company out of Hong Kong.

why two sp404s? (:

one of em has the drum loops and effects, the second one has the sort of master bus vinyl sim compression (the nice OG one) to give a little glue, texture, and sidechain to the incoming drum and synth signals. Its a way to have my a SpFX available while still having the overall compression and vinyl/lofi controls. A way to get the sp-404 resampling real lofi production aesthetic but in a live context.

From watches to synths Casio is the way. Although I made these drum loops with some lynn drums samples to have that vibe but still be personalized. Yo this little white casio tone has a knob that switches it from synth to calculator haha.
