I got this on Xbox one and want to play it after playing Elden Ring. Want to start from the beginning of Dark Souls and do a playthrough, I missed the whole series up to Elden Ring. Great game.
Yeah, man, it's a fantastic game! I've not played Elden Ring, yet, but I came in from the opposite side, having played all the way through the DS trilogy on launch. I think I jumped on DS1 around 2013, and have nothing but good things to say about the other 2 games. 2 can be polarizing to people, but the majority of people have learned to shut up and enjoy the hidden depths of it, and I LOVE the expansion content, a lot. 3 is like Demons' Souls, refined, but with hints of Bloodborne in it - it also has good, top-notch expansions in the Ringed City and Ashes of Ariandel. If you like the Souls series, I always say play Demons' Souls last, after you've played DS3, because it's pretty hit-or-miss, especially if you came in from Elden Ring first. It's almost quaint, even compared to Dark Souls 1, and has a lot of things I don't personally like (World Tendency, New Game Plus is kinda busted in terms of scaling, and a few bosses and areas are really a let down). I don't personally like the tone, art direction, or music direction of the remake, but you can always emulate the original with RPCS3 and certain external Blu-ray drives (it's what I use), if you're as picky as I am. Bloodborne is dope, especially if you like Dex builds in Souls games, and has some of the best music and architecture in the From catalog, with some genuinely cool storytelling - if you're into cosmic horror. Sekiro I've not played, but it looks neat, and some day I might give it a shot. :)
