The Defector the best one in my opinion. It really makes you feel that you are fighting in hell, buildings on fire, enemies everywhere, the intense gunfire and the chopper, oohh the chopper, it only makes that feeling stronger
An excellent choice. There’s something about that chopper, right? The humming noise it makes as it shoots seems to add to the music - a little like in Payback.
That heavy guitar and drum part of the soundtrack for The Defector always felt to me like a more modernized version and insane version of Boldman City from WAW, even taking some of the cues from it like the angelic choir singing throughout the song. The mission as a whole makes you feel like you're seriously on the clock as you fight for your life against the unstoppable horde of NVA that are overrunning Hue in a matter of days or hours. If you interpret the song as being similar to Boldman, you could probably even say that The Defectors music is probably the music the Germans would be hearing as the Soviets rushed through the streets of Berlin and slaughtered anyone who tried to stand in their way, as you experienced with Dimitri in WAW.
