  • Hey Friend,
Today I'm bringing you along in the garden as I tackle the long list of things to prepare and plant. I've got my work cut out for me if I'm going to grow enough of these things for a year. You'll find me planting potatoes, dahlias, gladiolus, peas, carrots, kale, cabbage and Brussel sprouts and getting the garden walkways covered.
Let me know if you want to see a weekly garden tour!
    Thanks for joining me!

I have a confession…I have a hard time coming home without a container of bulbs or seeds etc! I could completely relate to what you were saying lol! 🤭Peonies are my favorite flowers and I have a couple of established plants but one of my recent ‘I just couldn’t leave without it’ purchases included a couple more peonies! I also got some gladiolus as well as a few other bulbs. I have tried dahlias before but didn’t get the results I’d hoped for. Won’t be trying those again this year but perhaps in the future. They are a reminder of my childhood and running around my gramma’s garden. She had beautiful flowers everywhere. I grow geraniums (as do my sister and mom) every year as a reminder of her. As she aged she did more container type gardening and those containers were full of geraniums. I started some this year from seed! I can’t tell you the joy of seeing those seeds germinate. My hope is I’ve planted enough of the flowers I typically buy for my hanging baskets and large pots. My first attempt at onions (2021) didn’t go so well and now after watching your video I think it may be because of the onion sets I purchased. Last year after reading great reviews I ordered some onions from Dixondale Farms. I had great success so I did the same for this year. I may give your idea a try next year and see how that works. Cabbage is going out today, I’ve been hardening off the seedlings and potatoes hopefully tomorrow. Hoping to get the assorted squash planted out in a week or two as well. It’s exciting to be in this time of year! I would enjoy a weekly garden tour. I find it helpful to hear what’s problematic in other gardens and how it’s being addressed. Of course, it’s got to fit into your life and shouldn’t be a source of obligation or stress for you. Loved seeing the children playing and helping in the garden. I love having my granddaughter in the garden with me too!
Thank you for sharing your garden. I look forward to seeing it produce an abundance of edible 🥒 and beautiful 🌸 things!
    Happy Good Friday!

If you can find some burlap bags somewhere, they make a great cover for your carrot seeds. And then when you’re done with them, you can fold/roll them up and they don’t take up much storage space!
