- Hey Friend,
Today I'm bringing you along in the garden as I tackle the long list of things to prepare and plant. I've got my work cut out for me if I'm going to grow enough of these things for a year. You'll find me planting potatoes, dahlias, gladiolus, peas, carrots, kale, cabbage and Brussel sprouts and getting the garden walkways covered.
Let me know if you want to see a weekly garden tour!
Thanks for joining me!

I have a confession…I have a hard time coming home without a container of bulbs or seeds etc! I could completely relate to what you were saying lol! 🤭Peonies are my favorite flowers and I have a couple of established plants but one of my recent ‘I just couldn’t leave without it’ purchases included a couple more peonies! I also got some gladiolus as well as a few other bulbs. I have tried dahlias before but didn’t get the results I’d hoped for. Won’t be trying those again this year but perhaps in the future. They are a reminder of my childhood and running around my gramma’s garden. She had beautiful flowers everywhere. I grow geraniums (as do my sister and mom) every year as a reminder of her. As she aged she did more container type gardening and those containers were full of geraniums. I started some this year from seed! I can’t tell you the joy of seeing those seeds germinate. My hope is I’ve planted enough of the flowers I typically buy for my hanging baskets and large pots. My first attempt at onions (2021) didn’t go so well and now after watching your video I think it may be because of the onion sets I purchased. Last year after reading great reviews I ordered some onions from Dixondale Farms. I had great success so I did the same for this year. I may give your idea a try next year and see how that works. Cabbage is going out today, I’ve been hardening off the seedlings and potatoes hopefully tomorrow. Hoping to get the assorted squash planted out in a week or two as well. It’s exciting to be in this time of year! I would enjoy a weekly garden tour. I find it helpful to hear what’s problematic in other gardens and how it’s being addressed. Of course, it’s got to fit into your life and shouldn’t be a source of obligation or stress for you. Loved seeing the children playing and helping in the garden. I love having my granddaughter in the garden with me too!
Thank you for sharing your garden. I look forward to seeing it produce an abundance of edible 🥒 and beautiful 🌸 things!
Happy Good Friday!
Yes to a second video!! Look forward to your videos every week❤️

Thanks Caren! ❤️☺️
I would love to see a video of your garden’s progress and any advice and tips are always helpful since this is my second year planting my small garden of peppers and tomatoes and will be incorporating herbs (thyme, oregano, sage…) 😊
Awesome, thank you!! ❤️☺️
If you can find some burlap bags somewhere, they make a great cover for your carrot seeds. And then when you’re done with them, you can fold/roll them up and they don’t take up much storage space!
Never thought of that! Thank you!!!
i love garden tours :)
Me too! Thank you ❤️
Yes please! I love seeing garden progress, along with what works and what doesn’t! You’re kiddos are so cute and I’m glad you include them.
Thanks Pat, I appreciate that ☺️❤️
Love the scripture ❤
❤️❤️❤️
Such a good video today was happy to learn about the difference in onions. With 2 small kids it's hard to make more videos so think long and hard on your time your important too
Thanks Patti! Oh wonderful ! I’m glad it was helpful.
I spend a good deal of time on my Friday videos, filming and editing, I plan to have the garden tour be pretty unedited and laid back hopefully saving me a lot of time. I will most definitely reconsider if it becomes too much! Thank you for thinking of me ❤️☺️
The additional video sounds great! Happy gardening!
Thank you for the feedback ❤️☺️
Love a garden tour
Thanks Holly! ❤️
Id love to see your garden tours!
Thank you Candi! ☺️
Would love a weekly update!! 😊

Your potatoes and mine were all over-achievers this year 😂 mine look just like that 😂😂😂
😂 they better over achieve in the garden too
Lovely idea for garden updates!
Thanks so much!
I will watch! I just love your videos!
Thanks so much Karen! ❤️☺️
Hello 👋 😊
👋 ☺️
Interesting thing about onions, recently I found and onion in my garden that went to flower, so apparently I overlooked it for two years 😅, oops, definitely going to try to collect the seeds.
Haha! Relatable. I’m always finding things, kinda fun!
It would be wonderful seeing another video from you. It's endearing watching your children get some involved with gardening and you sharing your gardening experiences. Happy Easter to you and your family🙏🏽
So kind of you, thank you! Happy Easter to you and yours! ❤️
Yes, but that would be awesome
Thank you! 😊
Thank you for the video. 😊 I just halved my seed potatoes for planting next week, 2 eyes on each piece and 6 varieties. I don’t know how people save fresh grown potatoes because they’re delicious! We ate through all of our potatoes by winter.
Thank you! Awesome, they are quite yummy! I try to set aside some because organic seed potatoes are pricey 😬
@@seedandsparrowhomestead I ordered from The Maine Potato Lady and use store bought that sprouted in my basement.
great video, my husband and I have started our seeds in our garage last week. We dont have a big backyard, we live in a townhouse. We have 2 large raise garden beds and use a lot of pots. Happy Easter Kelsey and family.
Thanks so much! I love seeing people working with what they have, awesome job! Blessings on you and your family this Easter
What tunnel do you use for your kale? I am looking for something just like that for my cabbage!
I'd watch that.
Thank you! I posted my first tour last week and a new one will go up tomorrow ☺️
♥️
❤️
Can you add the temperature in Celcius on the screen? I think the rest of the world (apart from maybe the Brits) have no idea how cold or warm 70 Degrees Fahrenheit is :)
I’ll have to remember that for future videos, I always forget the video is seen by others outside of the USA. Thank you!! ☺️
@@seedandsparrowhomestead Super! That'be awesome!
Would you share your source for straw? I am in south central PA and can't find a source that guarantees it is herbicide free.
Sure! Check out Red Hill Harvest ☺️
I would love to watch your garden and family grow. But being a young mom, please don’t overdo your efforts.
Thank you! I’m going to try and see how it goes but I’ll be sure to reevaluate if things become to much ☺️❤️
I would love that too
