ფაფარაშლილი, თვალებბრიალა,
ვერ აიტანდა ზურგზე უნაგირს,
უბელო, ალბათ შეჰყვა იალაღს.
იქნებ გათელა მინდვრების ფარჩა,
ან.. ხევსურეთის მთები არჩია,
იქნებ არაგვის ჭალებში ჩარჩა,
ღამის დადგომა ვერ შეამჩნია.
ვინძლო მოქნეულ შოლტს გადაურჩა,
გზებს, გაურანდავს, ვინძლო ეღირსა,
თავისუფლების ჟინი შემორჩა
შორი პრერიის მუსტანგებისა!

Where are you running, black horse
Where are you running, black horse with disordered mane?
With big, wild eyes, and spirit untamed, you reign.
Could not carry the saddle on your back,
Without it, you gallop on a boundless track.
Maybe you trampled the fields so wide,
Or chose the mountains of Khevsureti to hide.
Perhaps you stayed in the floodplain of Aragvi's sweep,
Escaping the whip, your freedom to keep.
You set out on an untrodden path so grand,
With the spirit of freedom in this untamed land.
Of distant prairie mustangs, wild and free,
Your heart remains, where your spirit can be.
This poem explores themes of exile, loss, and defiance. It uses imagery of a galloping horse to convey a sense of urgency and escape.
The poem's focus on the individual's struggle against fate and adversity on self-expression and the spirit.
