  • Voronoi Diagrams are a really versatile interesting tool that can be used in all kinds of ways. I discuss a bunch of different ways that they can be used and show off some examples.

Love how your work explores simple, yet elegant mathematical aesthetics. And that you take the time to explain what’s happening, allowing for deeper appreciation!

What controls the spacing (black regions) between the cells?

How is it even possible to make videos of such professional quality on a channel that recent? No jokes, I'm even seriously mad that there isn't more peoples benefiting from it. I can only ask you to keep doing such a great job and just hope that your channel will get the recognition it deserves the sooner, the better.

Thank you for the great tips on different ways to plot the control points in a Voronoi Diagram.

I'll just go ahead and comment about the Algorithm now... Everyone will be finally watching Generative Garden in a week.
So far I've loved both of your videos, thanks for the good explanations and good editing. Cheers!

Everything in your videos is beautiful. Your explanation, your art, your voice, gives me super good vibes and I learn something!
I hope you'll come back some day

This video is so aesthetically pleasing!! It would be really helpful if you can share the code too.

What program/algorithm do you use to create your voronoi diagrams and graphics?

For this video I used Quil, a Clojure library based on Processing, to create the graphics. I calculated the voronoi diagram by finding the delaunay triangulation of the set of points, and once you have a delaunay triangulation it's pretty easy to translate it to a voronoi diagram (this page gives a good explanation of how to do that: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delaunay_triangulation#Relationship_with_the_Voronoi_diagram). Though there will probably be a decent library for calculating the diagrams in any programming language you might want to use for generative art.

the background music is too loud. it's hard to understand your voice sometimes because of it, especially for non native english people. It's sad because the video is really great.

My God, what's with the bizarre background music? Very distracting and unnecessary.
