I have been having alot of fun with this leader into the Yellow And Nami spam I hav been dealing with in my locals and I gotta say, I love it. Feels so much better now. Though, personally I like to use the new Purple Perospero instead of basil Hawkins because he also has a trigger effect to being himself out, costs one don less, and is a actual pressuring body on board while still being searchable with the 1 cost event. Though he doesn't ramp immediately, he does cost a don to use the trigger, so I won't say he is strictly better, more of a playstyle thing. I also like to play a few miss double fingers and the new lin Lin over the kings, but again more of a personal choice. Trying to experiment using the other Ramp card that big mom brought with her but in this meta I can't decide if it's the right call sense not alot of the higher decks are dropping 4 cost 6k as often. Though in the future it's something to look into I believe.
Funny enough I can see that, playing into nami with this would be pretty good. Pero? Never thought about him honestly, its not ramp right away, but when he gets KO'ed and he's still a body that can swing. That might honestly be better. I'll have to play around with that ^^
@@PawsePlaysYeah, plus a funny interaction is that if Pero is on the board when you drop your 10 Kaido, it actually ramps up a don so you are back to 8 instead of 7 next turn. Sense you know,Kaido specifically KO's the board. More peros on board, the more don you get back.
Want another interesting version of this deck I call the KO effect kaido Run the new tamago trio that can play a card from deck, the new perosparo that on KO ramps u a don and Magellan U essentially punish them every time they KO a character

Welcome in Ladies & Gentlemen! I was asked to do a Kaido video, long and behold, it has been done. And it was def alot more fun to play than I first thought. The black Maria, in which we get in OP08 really brings out this deck in full force. Allowing us to spam leader ability, and gain back our lost don w/ ease. Sometimes you can setup early lethal having your opp at 2 life. swing 12k with leader & -7 don, rip life, than swing with your 10-12k Kaido body for game! I've been playing Kaido a lot lately and intend to bring him to locals. Do you brick often with this list? No Jet Gatling in this seems insane with the amount of bricks. It ramps off of trigger as well. I think Pudding is a trap tbh. Kid + Onigashima and Maria already gives you back 7 DON after using leader ability. Pudding seems too slow for a deck that already has a slow start. Brachio Bomber is a nice idea though. I've been using 6c King and I love his 7k body but he goes -1 DON and only kills 4 costs. Gotta play around with Brachio Bomber a bit.
@@PawsePlaysI’ve been playing him since at least o6 with all kinds of builds. I’ve caught quite a few people off guard thinking he’s garbage until suddenly they take 2 12ks and lose! Linlin is a good addition to a list as well to get some heals and removal if you don’t hit the 10 drop on curve to sustain yourself, sanji is a great 2k that pairs with leader ability into 6k blocker too
@39:00 u should have played Maria leader ability swing 8 and ramp it back. Forces them to have the counter and u will be at 10 don the following turn anyways. Also avoids giving them that free last life
My man Pawse always cooking he doesn’t stop! Purp Kaido getting support is actually very scary Maria is so welcomed into purple. You should try out the Zoro Sanji deck with the seven warlords engine it’s so much fun
@@SpinchthePimp Thats the good thing about this leader. It's not a one dimensional as some decks! Kaido, can be built so many ways, so hopefully you can find ratios that work for you. The deck really surprised me, I knew maria brought the deck back to life. But She also helps make this deck so much more fun to play ^^
I like the list but I’m running the ulti page one combo to swarm board and also running the 6 cost event that pops 2 6 cost for neg 2 Won my locals Sunday with it too, it’s really good being able to burn back to back
Game 5 before Kaido/Lin used ability, you could have used the 6 cost event to pop Sabo going to 4 active don, then you only need 2 hits. 7 with queen forces 2 cards or a hit, -7 used don to burn and 8 with leader 12 with Kaido.
I think people put too many big mom pirates in the pudding deck. I run my 8c kata, 9 and 10 lins, searcher puddings, bege and the new 6c kata. That’s it. I had pero but I took him out.
@@kazanyemmi yeah and it’s only 21 cards. The other 29 are not. A lot of pudding decks I’ve played against run pero, bruele and amande too. I’m saying I don’t see value in all those big mom cards but to each their own.
If ya don’t mind me asking… what are your opinions on teching conquest of the sea for the swarm and heavy blocker matchups and 9 mom or sheep’s horn to deal with sabo, borsalino and basil hawkins blocker? Loving your vids keep up the good work
@@jro514 I really like sheep horn in this meta, mainly for the 2 important ones you mentioned. Hawkins is kinda a pain, but honestly he’s easily dealt with bracho bomber. Same with sabo, outside of his effect. I do like sea, but sea feels bad if you’re behind. If you’re ramping great, it’s very good.

@@PawsePlays it is all about ramping, having the don is a pre requisite to use the ability, so you're in a race to ramp. Then, you need big drops every turn to survive after basically ramping/passing on your early turns. But all the big drops don minus too much to drop and use leader ability on the same turn with maria alone. So you have to spend even more turns either setting up more ramp like kid or pudding (which are easily removed anyway) or alternating big drops and leader effect each turn. All this culminates into using leader effect too late to impact the outcome of the game. Thus you're relying on animal kingdom support, basically just stage, search, 4c king, 6c event, 10c kaido, which isn't enough to carry. Ultimately a similar/same deck in pluffy just does it better

It's so nice that an OP01 ST leader gained some utility again; I hope other early leaders eventually get a similar treatment.

I like running the brulee blocker with this because its searchable with event and it will ramp on ko when you drop kaido
