For those that don't know... this guy has passed away... he had another channel called rufus and dofus was fun to watch... so sad a good guy like this...
Watching this video Sept 28 2022. I made this is is awesome tasting. I couldn't stop laughing watching him. I made it in my garage and my eyes watered so bad and I wasn't laughing at all. I don't know how the guy did it without choking. He's probably smiling from Heaven watching us all make his awesome recipe.
Thanks so much! Your direction was the only one that made sense to me, a first time canner! I can grow all kinds of peppers, and now I can share them with friends in a delicious new way!
It's good stuff man. Been awhile since I made some....been thinking of doing up some jars soon. So easy. Next sterilize your jars in the oven @225°F for a minimum of ten minutes...much easier and you can prep way more without all of the steam and the heat associated with it during canning season.
Great video. I can so many things and to see a man can is quite nice. Hay you guys take notes 😁 The last thing I canned was " WATERMELON RINE PRESERVES " I'M 69 Yrs. old and this was my first try at it. I remember my grandmother and mother doing them. Oh, those child hood memories. Have a blessed day and keep up the good work. Thanks. Ms. Dusty
I am so HAPPY I FOUND your Video !! The way you explain it I just decided to to stay with you...I have made several jellies now following step by step the way you did it and the jellies came out GREAT !!!! BUT what I went through will make you LAUGH !! I tried it in the house once, and my cat ran under the bed !!!!! and I GAGGED !!!!! Had to put a fan in kitchen and still the smell reached my living room and I could NOT STOP COUGHING the first time I made them !!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha BUT I had chopped Habanero Red Hot peppers for my jelly !!!! THAT'S WHY !!!! LOL LOL The fragrance of the HOT peppers had me running outside !!!! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Had to wear gloves and "WOW" my cat was still under bed !!!!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Now today, I am making my jelly outside even if its COLD outside !!!!!! ha ha ha ha ha ha right by my barbecue where the smell can just fly up high and away from my nose !!!!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha My grandchildren love the Red Hot pepper jelly BUT this grandma have to wear gloves to chop my peppers NOW !!! ha ha ha ha ha I noticed your t-shirt Harley Davidson !! I rode a Harley for 9 years and always had a toy for the children in back of my motor Cycle on the Jerry Lewis Toy run in Ventura California...I always had a BIG Smile when I rode my Harley ! Thank you brother for your humor and sharing this Marvelous recipe with us !! It's my son's favorite and I love it !!! God Bless You ! Your sister now in the Good 'O' South of Georgia U.S.A. Saying "HELLO"
I loves me some pepper jelly, I lost my recipes when we move ding ding husband gave the neighbors the key to our home and they took everything of m8ne he made sure we got out what he want, this is my recipe thanks for your time making this.👍🍊🦃🍎✌
Today I used the same pectin and didn't puree as much as you did and laid a kitchen towel where I filled my jars and I got the jar boiling in the water bath for 10 minutes , No die but that's a choice and my jars were popped in less than five minutes after I sat em down and had a little left over that satup before cooling. Yeah we both will have something good after the frost comes. Great job on the teaching Sir thanks
here's a tip for you for next time you make jelly....they say adding 1 - 2 tblspns of butter before you add the liquid pectin will help reduce the amount of foam.
I have absolutely howled at this video. You are a lovely person and I am now a subscriber. North Carolina here. Can't wait to see more. Btw I'm Robyn. Pleased to have found your channel.
We are Happy we found your video ! We really loved it because you explained everything into detail..Thank you so much...and you had humor with the smell in the air ! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha God Bless You here from the South of Georgia !! We will enjoy making jelly especially for the fall we plan to add spicy fall flavors like clove and spices to our jelly !
Thanks for sharing! I picked up some liquid pectin (but it is Bernardin) with the intention of making this with jalapeños I grew. I'm contemplating freezing my little jars but you make the processing look so easy! Subscribed!
WillowandPaisley Hi there! Thanks for watching. I think you will enjoy the jelly. Wait till you inhale the fumes when you are cooking them, your sinuses will never be the same! :) Chico
Thank you for this amazing video 😁 I try this jelly before and I was so amazed that I was looking for an easy and good recipe for it and you just did it 😀 thank you very much 😁
A good tip my mother taught me, you will want to place a tea/kitchen towel in the bottom of the pan before placing the full jars in to water bath them. It reduces the chances of a jar breaking.
Love the tip about the tea towel. What a great tip. From what I understand the tea towel is immersed in the water and the filled jars are sitting on that in the big vessel. Is that correct?
I'm going absolutely insane. I've tried googling my problem and there's zero results. My issue is that I waited too long to put my jelly mixture into my jars and it started to set in the pot. Now it's all chunky and bubbly because I didn't can it while it was still liquid. How can I fix this!??! Everytime I google my issue, no matter how I word it, the only results I get is how to fix runny jelly. Not how to fix jelly that's set too quickly before I could jar it. Can I reheat the jelly to turn it liquid and then re-can it? (I used liquid pectin). Help!!!
I found this about 3 years ago And let me tell you if you add a teaspoon or 2 of vanilla You wanna talk about good jelly wow It flies off to shelf as fast as I can make it
I know this is an old video...I recently made a cranberry pepper jam...it also called for 2 cups of vinegar. The Vinegar actually neutralizes the heat of the pepper especially if the pepper seeds are left in the jam/jelly. I was really disappointed because my recipe called for the removal of the seeds...so there was no heat, but way too vinegary. Ugh! No vinegar if you remove the seeds and want heat!
For those that don't know... this guy has passed away... he had another channel called rufus and dofus was fun to watch... so sad a good guy like this...
Travis Mattingly xoxo sad to read this was entertained ...
Oh gosh. I’m really sad to hear that. I just discovered him today.
Forgot to mention, to make it not so hot use 4 cups blended bell peppers with only 2 cups of the hot peppers. Do everything the same way. Thanks😁
is that 4 cups chopped or blended?
Lynn Clark don’t want puréed
I always use a green bell pepper in mine😊
RIP TALENTED YOUNG MAN ...WE ALL LOVE THESE VIDEOS!!!
Oh no, did he pass away?

You got some “neighbors”.

Add 1 Tbsp. butter to stop jelly from foaming. Love your recipe. Did you add any food dye?
Susann Minall I do
Just finishing up my second batch! Delicious!
Thank you so much for the recipe!
This looks so easy & great for holiday meats
Ive added hybenaros and everybody loved it😊 my recipe is basically same as urs😊
Thank you for this amazing video 😁 I try this jelly before and I was so amazed that I was looking for an easy and good recipe for it and you just did it 😀 thank you very much 😁
Thank you for getting back to me:)
This is strange because I didn't know this channel existed and I was looking for a pepper jelly recipe...
Hey this came up in the list when I was looking up an apple jelly recipy.
Awesome..i am going to make this today...
GREAT Video!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I've never had pepper jelly. How do you eat it? Do you put it on crackers? It looks like something that would go on fried chicken because its hot.
Personally I put it on crackers with cream cheese
Habanero in this recipe is awesome
Is that Townecraft cookware? I have a set and have had it for over thirty years and still looks brand new. Good stuff. Liked your video as well.
Two packs pectin for 3 pints?
Thank you!!😊
OK! I've got to try this. I love spicy 🌶🔥Jalapeno jelly but I've never made Jelly before. You make it look soooo easy maybe even I could do it?😏
so this recipe yiedls around 3 pints?

S C yes that is correct.
With seeds = super hot...without seeds, just hot.
Funny and entertaining video...
You make it look easy, did you deseed the Jalapeno's?
Relayer1960 No. Use the seeds and all. Only the stem gets trashed.
OK, thanks for the reply!!!
Any time!
If I wanted to add a cup of crushed pineapple(drained of course), do you think I could stick with the same recipe?
Yay finally some one who doesn't see the peppers
Does it have to be liquid pectin. Can u use the powder kind
never supposed to substitute liquid and dry pectin in any recipes.

Thank you but I have a question for you?? If I follow that recipe I have powder not liquid how do you substitute one for the other?
I had one packet of liquid pectin and 6 T. of powder pectin. (6T. = 1 pkt) The jelly set up very well.
I found this about 3 years ago And let me tell you if you add a teaspoon or 2 of vanilla You wanna talk about good jelly wow It flies off to shelf as fast as I can make it
Do you see the jalapenos at all?
Thanks for the video. I've watched a few of these and everyone pronounces the word "jalepeno" differently...
Can anybody tell me if it makes a difference which type vinegar you use? Can it be white vinegar as well??
cider is best
At what point do you add food coloring?
Our Grandpa Chico had passed years ago. 🤧😭
@@SkYxLeGaCY Sorry, so glad he made this video.
@@SkYxLeGaCYIm am so sorry.
Bell pepper?

Came up when I was looking for strawberry jelly
😋😋😋
does it taste spicy since you ass so much sugar?
A pat of butter controls foaming....
Run the jars in a dishwasher....
always clean the jar!

Yum
Yes indeed!
Watch get cooked it looks like a good way to clear your sinuses 😆
I made this all the time and people went nuts over it. I do not like the food coloring. It makes it look unnatural.
I didn't add food coloring. I like the natural olive green color.
your jars are not sterilized they are sanitized to be sterilized is a different process .
Dont use food coloring. Its completely unnecessary
does it taste spicy since you ass so much sugar?
