What’s your feeling on Pokemon Center NY stamped Black Star Promo Rapids #51 and Ho-oh #52 kind of the original Pokémon center stamps cards. Maybe been forgotten.
Love this idea of choosing singles after their 3rd time on the monthly top 10 lists. I'll be looking to make decisions off this data in 2025, thanks for putting it together!
I think you're spot on with the roaring moon. I remember on release when it, and the iron valiant were $100+. To me, these are some of the most slept on cards, and paradox rift is the most slept on set from SV. Set value, pull rates, and the quality of these cards is just crazy under rated. I know most people don't like the paradox pokemon, but I feel like this is gonna age like terastalization. Everyone hates it until they don't, then there's this massive shift in opinion. For kids who grow up on the SV generation, and the ones who played SV first, these are their "Base set" end game pokemon.
Personally I think the issue with the paradox pokemon (roaring moon, raging bolt etc), is that they aren’t the original Pokémon. If they were “origin entei” or something like that I think people in the future would be more likely to look back and want to buy them
You helped me make 1500 bucks last week, right before Christmas when I needed it the most, Thank you for all your advice. Can really tell you enjoy what you’re doing
Loved the vid bro!! I’m primarily a sealed investor but I also love the hobby so if I can invest in cards with all the data behind them I may start in 2025, thanks bro!!
Potentially silly question When you sort by best selling on TCGPlayer, it seems like there is no logic. You’d think it would just be volume average, but it does not seem like that when looking at the stats on the page.
Good model, although ideally if you can pick the cards earlier the gains will be higher. Will also be interesting to see if this model works for newer sets where the chase card just sky rockets out of the gates. I feel like most of the gain happens at the start, by the time it has been on the list 3 times, will there be much gain to be had for the foreseeable future? or until the set is out of print?
@FlipFlab Already a $50 card? I mean you're buying at the lows here, I think. Isn't that almost always the case for Japanese though? I mean, I've only been collecting for a couple of months, but it seems to me like the excitement for Surging Sparks, and the hype for Prismatic just spilled over into the Terastal for some reason, even though Japanese cards don't do that well....unless they're Japanese only promos.
@@BlueToronto yes but the two go hand in hand. If a collection of a set is rising in price it’s because people love the singles in the set or it’s now HTF or both. And if the time to buy for PR was months ago the same logic applies to the singles. And I just don’t foresee this $20 Japanese roaring moon boosting the price on a card that’s a year old and already over double the value of the new one granted English is different but $20 doesn’t typically turn into $200. And I feel this way about Japanese RM because usually that sentiment comes from the feeling of FOMO with not being able to get the new chase card but hey I can settle for this and it’s still pretty nice. But that logic doesn’t work for me when the new card is potentially going to be a better price. Hopefully that made sense.
Why does everyone hate it? I think it's the best of the three, I absolutely HATE the stupid dinosaur looking suicune! What the hell were they thinking making it so reptilian? These are legendary dog pokemon, the other two still retain some of their dogness but suicune got straight up turned into a velocirator and everyone is ok with it somehow except me?!

I love seeing cards I pulled from packs on these lists. Will I eventually sell them? Will I get them graded before selling? These are my big questions

Raging bolt is a decent artwork. But the pokemon design itself is a dud. Don’t see that card going crazy.
