Passion in the eyes where words can’t dwell. To fasten what you feel like, under a curse I fell. Just sat in my mind with a look like a spell. One minute with no words but your eyes can tell. Some give more than needed but we’ve been to hell. Goodbye again loved one, you have tears to sell.
They're having an entire conversation with just their eyes. This will always be one of my favorite things ever. They're still so in love after all this time
This is by far the most beautiful thing on the internet to date. The artistic level expressing the depth of love is beyond. After 40 years that love existed just the same. I adore the instant acknowledgment, the expression, and the silence which put them in tears, the fact he tried to hide his emotion with his head nods, and she felt it all. Also the fact that she felt that depth and had to show it to the next person in there minute of silence. The metaphor of this entire exchange is wild. Watch it over and over and understand the different levels. It’s like an onion peeling back the emotional layers. I felt this to my core and appreciate the artist sharing this vulnerability with all of us.
Wow that is one of the best descriptions of the emotions they were expressing out of most of the other descriptions. But there are many great words describing this moment it's difficult to pick one
While your explanation is very on-point, what I truly love about this moment is that it perfectly captures why words / language is wholly incapable of describing things like emotions fully. With real emotions you just know, and you can see it in others and also know through them, yet not fully understand it logically or put it into words that would be able to transmit the emotion.
... wow. You guys really need to do some research, and a bit of introspection to go with it. 2:50 She finally lets go for one last time and he walks away as if it was the final conclusion to their relationship, engaging one another with 1 last touch. True art that shows emotion and colours represented between the two artists through an exchange of eye contacts, Bravo.
I come back every few years or so to watch this when I feel I need to see it. Their backstory makes this even more profound a piece of art. The human experience. It's a beautiful mess.
It's like this involuntary weeping that occurs the moment you connect with the pain of your own past Loves lost; it's the quickening of her breath, the widening & watering of her eyes, and then ultimately the desperate acceptance in her expression as he gets up... and walks away. Closing her eyes - she tries to hold on to the image of him in her head... sadness suddenly veiling across her face as she reluctantly accepts that the moment has passed. #fcknlove
beautiful stated... for but a moment their lifetime they spent together flashed in front of their eyes... it's so simple, but genuinely beautiful in its simplicity.

This gets me every time I watch it. The surprise on her face when she opens her eyes and the tears streaming down her face. You can tell they really loved each other.
All of us love that one person truly madly deeply with every cell of our body every depth of the soul.. That love they found in each other.. That love doesn't lead to a life long companionship for all.. I'm glad they got to experience it.
I'm just now learning about this woman, what has been said isn't what I see here. Reading your comment about not getting to experience love is hard to believe.

I cried when I first saw this video some time ago and it still has the same effect. Regrets lost loves , still carrying that candle for each other and somehow all the time in between means nothing..Just that moment looking across the table ..in that moment nothing had changed 💕💕
This really was an amazing video. You could really see her face light up the moment she opened her eyes as she knew exactly who he was and even though they chose different paths in life they never seemed to lose the emotional touch and the connection they had despite no contact for 3 decades..
I'm 45 yo, as of yestetday, and I've never been in love. A friend and I were talking about what do I think being in love looks like .... and remembered seeing this video years ago. That, to me, is what true Love looks like.
Eh not really. He took her to court right after this and she had to pay him a bunch of money for royalties from previous work. He only met up with her for money
Well think about it, he contributed so much to Marina’s artwork, that which has touched so many people and made her who she is today, it’s completely fair for him to want his cut. Also why does it have to be salty? Maybe they both had a mutual understanding of “ok now that our moment is over -wipes away tears- I’d say it’s about time we finally settle this financial situation and so we can move tf on from here”
When I was younger and dumber I once thought it strange that my uncle to whom I was very close should remarry after his first marriage had ended badly. So I had asked mom, "but uncle's so old! (he was 47, and back then for 14 years old me, everyone above 20 was 'old') how can he fall in love again?" My mother rebuked me, saying, "don't be a fool; everyone becomes young again when you're around love." The changes of expression in the face of Marina Abramovic & Ulay starting in 1:41, the sudden yet subtle smile, awkward but serene gaze, and irresistible tears-those made me understand exactly what my mom said many years ago.
Have you ever loved someone so deeply that no matter what happens in your life that person is already a part of you and always will be, that soulmate that will shake you to your core and will always have a place in your heart long after you have moved on.
The music and camera’s with the theme “retrospective” created a big impact on the video itself, specifically, those things mentioned made the ambiance and the emotions of the couple be highlighted. “A minute of silence” implies that there are feelings and emotions that do not need to used words in order to be express. It reminds me of the lyrics in one of the song of Ronan Keating saying “ You say it best, when you say nothing at all”.
Great Performance..........El encuentro de Marina con Ulay, fue un canto de amor, donde las palabras no fueron necesarias...Todo fue dicho..........Bravo.
You should go find a priest for an exorcism if you have not done so in the 3 years since that happened. I wish you luck, it's always sad to see someone consumed by satanic ritual.
I've watched this video so many time, but I yet I would stll have teary eyes. The love, the passion, the desire..you can see those in their eyes. Amazing.
Been looking for this for a very long time, the hearts and eyes spoke....very beautiful. A version that can go side ways if depth is not understood. Love this piece, thanks for uploading!
This video used lighting, cameras and music which added to the feels or emotion that this video brought to me. In this video, I realized that even though we may have painful memories of our pasts, there's still something good in it that we may treasure and cherish for the rest of our lives. We should not forget those persons who become part of our journey.
After i saw how they look each other in silence i realized that i have to open my heart again for true love instead of kill the feeling this whole time. You know, as we grow up we start to think that love is bullshit and manipulate us. But the feeling is beautiful, to FALL in love. I want to experience it again, live up the feeling. 😊
This live Art Performance by Marina Abramovic makes me feel dumps about the dept love and reactions of the two of them, even though they only use eye contact I still feel the emotions. Their response to each other makes us surprise and curious. In doing this activity they use back ground music ,lights to make them focus and objects( chairs and table) to have the range between people to him. This technologies helps to boost the emotion and connection to each other.🥰🥺

Saw this in my Art class today. And wow!! It was beautiful, words can't describe how it made me feel.😢 Truely a picture worth a thousand words.
Their eye contact says it all! This is what we called true love ❤️
Have you ever loved someone so deeply that no matter what happens in your life that person is already a part of you and always will be, that soulmate that will shake you to your core and will always have a place in your heart long after you have moved on.
I just can't with this.. The song only makes it THAT more touching . Such a beautiful piece
One of the most beautiful videos i ever saw.... I return back to it again and again
One of my favourite RUclips videos. The music is fabulous.
Still makes me cry. Every single time.
This is the height of art! The thrill of experiential experiences bursts from every pore of the body. Amazing !
Great Performance..........El encuentro de Marina con Ulay, fue un canto de amor, donde las palabras no fueron necesarias...Todo fue dicho..........Bravo.
very touching moments....all of the sudden, i could feel my tears rolling down my cheek...
You should go find a priest for an exorcism if you have not done so in the 3 years since that happened.
I wish you luck, it's always sad to see someone consumed by satanic ritual.
If you have ever been truly in love, then you understand why they did not even have to speak , yet they spoke volumes with their eyes.
I've watched this video so many time, but I yet I would stll have teary eyes. The love, the passion, the desire..you can see those in their eyes. Amazing.
Every single time I watch this I tear up. Beautiful....
I get all teared up. I cannot imagine not being with my husband the love of my life
The depth of true loves memory remains in one's soul forever...........
Brandy J Lausch-Horning you can not be more right.. 25 years later a wife and kids and i still see her smile when I close my eyes..
Been looking for this for a very long time, the hearts and eyes spoke....very beautiful. A version that can go side ways if depth is not understood. Love this piece, thanks for uploading!
What i love everytime I watch this is the conversation that you can see but not hear.
Don't. It's a trap. (He ended up suing her later, by the way)
@@boobyscoo8059 thx for the reminder, i was drunk when writing that comment
@@theanomaly3038 😂 been there, I feel ya.
Imagine having your passion once matched by another in order to have this kind of moment. That's extremely fortunate.
Ive seen it a dozen times, love it each time,i watch it
This live Art Performance by Marina Abramovic makes me feel dumps about the dept love and reactions of the two of them, even though they only use eye contact I still feel the emotions. Their response to each other makes us surprise and curious.
In doing this activity they use back ground music ,lights to make them focus and objects( chairs and table) to have the range between people to him. This technologies helps to boost the emotion and connection to each other.🥰🥺
Very lovely i cry ...that was a deep love in the past there are sooooo Many emotion on their face...
So beautiful! It makes me cry each time!
This video says so much...I come across it every now and again...
