Big thanks! I removed some of my students who stopped with lessons and now couldn't rejoin one, because I permanently removed him. With this process I could rejoin him myself.
Super helpful video. I'd been racking my brains all morning trying to figure out why someone couldn't resubscribe. All sorted now and subscribed to your channel Gary.
There is subscribed, unsubscribed and blank (non-subscribed). Two questions: 1) how does someone come in as non-subscribed? 2) Every way we collect emails requires people to go into our list as subscribed. They are welcome to unsub but they all go in as subscribed (as best I can tell by how we have it set up - unless you have something in answer to the first question that I am unaware of!). Can I subscribe non-subbed contacts because if you are in our list you should be a subscriber and you clearly haven't unsubscribed. Does this make sense? Great channel. Just subscribed.
A non-subscribed contact is added where there is an integration to Mailchimp (or a Mailchimp survey) and the person doesn't click a box to subscribe. This usually happens where you have ecommerce or Eventbrite connected. If you Mark the person as subscribed in the external system, Mailchimp should make the contacts subscribed.
Hello Gary do you have a later version of this session as a newbie I went through when building my contacts disable the marketing from my contact. In this video 2 years ago I see that they have removed some of the options from the software 2024. What can I do to bring the contacts back?
This depends; for example if you have a customer journey set up to welcome new subscribers where contacts may repeat the journey, then resubscribed contacts will likely get the email.
Seems like you can only do this for 5 subscribers -- is that right? After 5 people, Mailchimp started giving me an error and now I can't use this function.
@@GaryEckstein No specific error, it just takes you back to the empty form and says "there were errors below." I've discovered that if I wait for a few hours, I can do another batch of five but then I get the same error once again. Makes for slow going for a larger batch.
Does it restricted in bulk? I going to do so for 10-15 contacts because first email was mistakenly send which become the reason of unsubscribing. I suppose. @@GaryEckstein but my goal is to send one informational email for all contacts, do I need to resubscribe tho?
In this example would Gary+102 get an email notification that he had been resubscribed? And is there a way of doing these in bulk? We have a lot of people ask to opt-back into email outside of MailChimp.
WOW! This video is from 2 years ago and it still worked! Thank you!
Glad it helped 👍

Hi Gary! If we resubscribe our contacts like this, will they receive an email informing them that they have been resubscribed? Thanks for the video!
This depends; for example if you have a customer journey set up to welcome new subscribers where contacts may repeat the journey, then resubscribed contacts will likely get the email.
Don’t find option of “ Resuscitation” have to use “ send confirmation “
You are the best ❤
Thank you :)
Very helpful thank you

This helped thx bro

How could subscribe a delete audience
Wait so does it work after you recently deleted a contact from that audience???
If you are using a Mailchimp signup form then yes, that person may resubscribe.
Seems like you can only do this for 5 subscribers -- is that right? After 5 people, Mailchimp started giving me an error and now I can't use this function.
Hi Erin. I haven't seen that restriction previously. What was the error?
@@GaryEckstein No specific error, it just takes you back to the empty form and says "there were errors below." I've discovered that if I wait for a few hours, I can do another batch of five but then I get the same error once again. Makes for slow going for a larger batch.
@@msenid1977 Mmmm. Mailchimp seem to be restricting the number of subscribes tot he form based on IP address (or similar) :(
What kind of message this user will receive?
Buy default the contact won't receive a message (unless you have, for example, a customer journey setup to send a message).
thank you! @@GaryEckstein

do you know how to increase batch subscribers in mailchimp?
What do you mean by 'batch subscribers'?
@@GaryEckstein on the video,it can subscribe one by one,but I want to change my customer list into subscribe in once,it's that possible?
@@mxlighting6641 Unfortunately I don't think it's possible to bulk update contacts to subscribed :(
@@GaryEckstein I see,thank you for your help!

As far as I'm aware, there is no means of re-subscribe in bulk in an Audience.
