What a great idea, to do your sky first and let dry. I'm going to try a dramatic sky. This way I don't end up with a mess running into my landscape area. I can control where the sky runs to and how dark it is.
I believe her name is Karen rice... I just watched the video yesterday... It's a landscape just using Payne's Grey, and it is amazing! You should definitely check it out ️ ☺️
Here's a link to the video... It's also a very atmospheric landscape. I love this one as well! I love the colors and the fact that it's a limited palette. It's amazing what you can do with only two or three colors. Or in the video with the link, only one color m.ruclips.net/video/Nggfe5ZHJfs/видео.html
@@carriecardwell608 thank you for your comment. However, I was requesting that this artist here repeat the painting in the blue gray range. I’m not really fond of the art of Karen rice. But thank you anyway.
Your paintings are simple (in that you use a the limited palette and just a few brushes/tools) and yet so delightfully dramatic and complex with the textures and movement you create. I love watching you paint and find myself thinking of you and your work whenever I need inspiration. Thank you for sharing yet another beautiful piece!
She's using a color called "Neutral Tint" which is available from most watercolor companies. It's kind of a dark grey. She uses Winsor & Newton which is a combination of pigments....PB15, PBk 6, and PV 19.
Watching your mind processing the next step is priceless!
I just keep coming back to you, Miss Jean! You are the Master!

Me encantó!....really nice!...
It’s a beautiful painting. How do you keep your paper flat on your board for the entire painting even after it dries after the first wash?

Really you have created a poetry of Watercolor 💙 Watercolor is my dream of art life🍀
Best wishes my friend 💥
So Beautiful :) I never thought the sky being painted that low was a possibility. It looks amazing!
Love the sky and everything else
Love this, thank you for making the video
Hi Jean, great idea with the sponge - I've never seen that before! And very nice atmospheric sky with the wet-in-wet.
Really love this painting Jean, it's similar to how I like to paint, thank you.
This is incredible. You have done a great job with this painting.
Thanks💛
Thanks so much I’m going to try this. I wonder.....could you please do an “overworked painting” so we can understand what is meant by that? Please?
Next time I have an overworked painting I will show and discuss it.
How do I get your course thank you.
I cannot find on your website how to sign up for the course.
Thanks for reaching out Warren. My online classes are at watercolors.jeanlurssen.com/ The link was to the right of my intro video.
Hi Jean, Have you cut into your hogs hair brush or does it naturally split?
No I haven't Ann. It's just a little worn. Hogs hair brushes are course so they do split easily.
What color is natural tint?
I love these experiments, but so far not having much luck with the granulation fluid. I'll keep trying. :-)
What color is “natural tint?”
Hi Jean I signed up for your class but I forgot where I should look. Oye.
I am very new to painting. Can someone please tell me what neutral tint is? How is it different from other colors?
Neutral tint is a color that was created to tone down brighter colors. It's generally mixed with other colors like I did in this video.
