「中大五十•人」盧煜明 | "CU50•The People” Dennis Y.M. Lo

「我相信將來每個人的基因圖譜在他們一出生或還未出生前就已經做好了」，這並不是科幻片裏的台詞，而是盧煜明教授對自己研究成果的切實展望。2010 年，中大醫學院副院長(研究)盧教授帶領團隊成功透過孕婦的血液找出胎兒整個基因圖譜，革新了檢測遺傳病甚至癌症的方法。
作爲醫生，盧教授憑藉堅韌的毅力和靈活的知識開創醫學新領域；作爲教授，他堅持在研究上精益求精，培養更多優秀的醫學研究人才，造福社會。
“I believe that in the future, people may have their genomic map ready by the time of their birth or even before it.” The quotation is not from any science fiction film but about an achievable prospect coming from the research of Prof. Dennis Lo, Associate Dean (Research) of the Faculty of Medicine at CUHK. In 2010, Professor Lo and his team successfully decoded a complete fetal genomic map from maternal blood, which revolutionized the method for detecting genetic diseases and even cancers.
As a doctor, Professor Lo has opened up new territory in the medical field through perseverance and innovation. As a professor, he spares no effort in pursing perfection in research and nurturing excellent medical researchers to the benefit of society.
