Nic seemed to state toward the end of the interview that those businesses and/or individuals who “failed” during the COVID crisis should not have received support from the government, that market forces should be allowed to “clear” the markets. I’m not sure that an individual in a profession that they were forbidden to practice during the pandemic is undeserving of support, nor that a business owner forced by the government to shut down for a year should suffer whatever those consequences might be.

Nic seemed to state toward the end of the interview that those businesses and/or individuals who “failed” during the COVID crisis should not have received support from the government, that market forces should be allowed to “clear” the markets. I’m not sure that an individual in a profession that they were forbidden to practice during the pandemic is undeserving of support, nor that a business owner forced by the government to shut down for a year should suffer whatever those consequences might be.
