    Small timber in comparison to the west coast...how's it stack up to 40yr old growth?

      Black spruce around here are growing really slowly some of them might be 50-60 years old in this video

      @@Coutcout12 wow crazy. We have blue spruce, it gets to maybe 12 inches wide, but the Sitka spruce is the big one, unfortunately/fortunately protected under government, so they can't be cut.
      Hemlock and Fir are our main milling wood

      @@Coutcout12 average is 12 to 16 inch on 40 year growth. Old growth reaches up to 36 inches, so the feller bunchers use a massive saw/grapple. I was a hook tender in younger years, got into grading/bundling in helilogging with Coulson in BC, and then got out of the forestry venture all together, especially when mosaic took over. Government contractor blocked all access roads with gates
