  • Farmers are using smartphones to track and keep their cows safe - with no need for physical fences, reports technology show BBC Click.
    Norwegian company NoFence allows farmers to draw virtual fences themselves, which connect to electronic collars on the cattle.
    The collars send sound alerts or electric shocks to the animals if they stray too far.
    However, animal rights group PETA has expressed concerns about the impact of the technology on the animals.

      The device first sounds an alarm. The livestock will quickly learn that hearing the alarm means that they are near to the boundary where the shock occurs. No alarm, means that they can proceed a little further as the farmer gradually moves the boundary to allow grazing on the new line.

    • @ABC1701A
      @ABC1701A Год назад

      About 90% smarter I reckon, having read most of the comments. And a surprising number think it is better either for the grass to be fed to humans rather than the cows (don't think they know where these cows are or what the weather there is like) or that it is better for the cattle to die trapped in a bog or over a cliff rather than have a collar which might zap them a couple of times before they learn what the beep means.
      Cattle are NOT stupid, and the majority are certainly a lot more intelligent than the majority of those in this comments section.

    Surprised they’re doing this. There’s so much evidence of dogs getting lost and killed because those fences just don’t work. They run right through them.

  • @Ass_of_Amalek
    @Ass_of_Amalek Год назад +8

    whether that's ok for the animals depends on how compliant they are by nature. some animals will learn to just immediately turn around when the hear a beep, but if an animal decides "fuck you I won't do what you tell me", it could end badly with the animal outside of the fence, getting shocked a lot, and deciding to run away instead of turning back. then what? the shocks aren't going to bring the animal back. I suppose the device would probably send an alert to the farmer to immediately go get the animal, but in the meantime, either the animal keeps getting shocked, which is pretty mean and may keep it trying to run away, or the shocks stop, but then the animal may learn that it can break through the fence to reach feed outside.
    maybe the device should be programmed to keep beeping when outside the fence, but only shock again if the animal moves farther away from where it's supposed to be, but also not when it's running?

    Those alarms look big, heavy & very uncomfortable knocking against their check bones while trying to eat! I've been against these collars in dogs (to stop them barking) because I've seen dogs go bald due to the stress of these shocks, however minor they are! Also they get so stressed out that these collars cause more harm than good on dogs! Have to see how the cows.fare...
    As far as needing no fences, that is a good thing in the countryside.

    • @dennis8196
      @dennis8196 Год назад

      The first argument is debatable at best, but mostly that isn't an issue, however suggesting less fencing is a good idea is naïve thinking. Meadows and farmland need smaller feilds and more fenced partitions. Fences allow new hedgerows to grow and in turn make it better for the wildlife which will make other animals like humans lives better.

      @andrewjones-productions Год назад +1

      Typically, grazing boundaries are progressively moved in a line across the field over a number of days. The cattle will be used to this from the electric fence and despite what many fear, they quickly get used to a system. The whole point of electric fencing is that it regulates grazing so that there is always enough to feed on and allows the grass that has been grazed to regrow.

This is what it's like to be these animals, nothing but pure physchological torture for these beautiful animals. If you pay for animals to be killed for your sandwich now might be a good time to think about what you're contributing towards

      how do you think the poor masons are, having to control everyone, it's really tiring. you won't even guess their game. because you're so vegan i'm going to repost my brilliant comment for you to enjoy. here it is: there's an old welsh joke, excuse my telling, english farmer wants to buy welsh farmer's cow because it's so well behaved, buys the cow, cow won't do anything. punchline "because you odn't sing to it" - congratulations england, congratulations tavistock and you bunch of masons, you've electroshocked your way to compliance. enjoy your future company.
      i guess it's not really funy but imagine being in west papua for the last sixty years and no one gives dicky bird about it. if yhou like your in-sect overlords, you don't have to call them out for it or anything, just keep pretending.

    Dear people of uk ,
    😁😁😁
    I support RISHI SUNAK to the Prime MINISTER post if he is planning to auction his shoes or dresses and help the money with some orphans in UK.
    Or becomes a Christian in public all his family and children.
    Or eats beef
    Or agreed to oath taking ceremony with a Bible or a photo of BORIS JOHNSON his boss .
    Or Queen Elizabeth portrait.
    Or he gives all his family wealth to poor children who lost their parents of covid-19.
    Or is he ready to make liss TRUSS a finance minister if he wins ?
    Or can he deny his friends because of his money rich he earned friendships including MPs of labour party .
    Or will he stop loving bringing legal migrants instead help that money to UK citizens.
    One shouldn't be blindly opposing or blindly supporting Rishi Sunak.
    It should be issue based .
    God loves poor
    Or
    God loves rich as well.
    But a rich must be an exampleful .
    For example,
    I am a rich
    But I don't have ( spare) money to cut my haircut,,
    But I cut all my even an important works.
    From my savings..
    I help my loved ones.
    Can Rishi Sunak is like my life style ?
    Cutting his personal needs and helping a friend or poor .
    We must save money or start a business or have a wealth ,,
    Or being rich is not a sin
    But lavishness is not a good example,,
    A ordinary business man being lavish might only being his personal business loss but it will not affect other citizens..
    A leader like Rishi Sunak wearing costly dress or shoes are not a good example.
    INSTEAD we could help a poor
    Or gift it a orphanage homes,,
    We must live humble life .
    One may be rich but he mustn't be lavish.
    It is not a sin being rich .
    But we must save the money to job opportunities or children or little donation ( if any need is felt,)
    Dorries tweeted newspaper reports that the former chancellor wore a bespoke suit worth £3,500 when he attended a recent leadership vote, and had visited Teesside in Prada loafers worth £450.
    She tweeted that by contrast, Liz Truss, the foreign secretary and Sunak’s rival in the Tory leadership race, would be “travelling the country wearing her earrings which cost circa £4.50 from Claire’s Accessories”. A source in Truss’s campaign confirmed the claim.
    There is trend in the world people love rich .
    That's how people of USA elected TRUMP but now he is not doing anything notable.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
