29:56 why is no one talking about how luca called cmbyn a *bisexual* movie rather than your presumed gay movie?? that's so important!! it's proper representation and opens people's minds to the fact that not everything is either explicitly gay or straight
Can't believe they are being so cheap. You would think a prestigious movie festival like TIFF would have the money to buy a license for streaming software, instead of using a demo version.
The movie that is "DARING YOU TO DESIRE " is no doubt have achieved and delivered, (thank you Armie for not passing on this movie, now finding yourself sitting in a corner thinking "thank goodness that you listen to your heart" it pays off hundred folds, people now are finding you more relatable and desirable more and more as an actor and as a MAN, because I do.. Timothee, every now and then one actor will come along that has the capacity to seduce the people and the camera, that is very rare. "To revisit those feelings (after watching the film) and rethink what are the "things that matter"...Thank you for giving me hope
I love Armie. He is definitely a great talent. However i feel the fact he is always doing big budget movies, he has the likability of big stars who are trained and told what to do and what to say. I'm not saying it's a bad things but he may lack that freshness that Timothee has. I hope this role will make him let loose a little bit and explore new things. And i just love the interviewer and the panel as a whole. Everyone's questions were so well thought even at times destabilizing the cast as well as the director which is reassuring to me as i feel the creation of the movie was not to make money rather delivering a piece of art.
"There is this important aspect of the movie which is the transmission of knowledge between generations. I come from a place, Italy, where we've been ruled for almost two decades by a prime minister who has infiltrated the imagery of our nation as a sort of perverted father of the enjoyment and not of the desire, Berlusconi. Someone who has been trading the welcoming of the other for the injunction of enjoyment against the other. I think our neighbours, down in USA, have now the same problem. I think to reaffirm the power of a father who's compassionate that leads a transformation that grows into the other is something quite important to do."
Jacynto Ares de Sebo She said "welcome to the life of an actress" as in, actresses are more often objectified than actors, and they too have teenage kids to worry about.
Oh my GOD!! That comment makes some happy :) I can't believe that you said that 2 years ago, because I was thinking the same thing for such a long time and then Jacqueline [Durran], the costume designer from the movie "Little Women" said the same thing about Timothee. That is so cute :) And she also said that "He’s one of the most stylish people I’ve ever met" and she is not mistaken;)
Armie Hammer is very intelligent. His mind is sharp and his voice is very powerful and every time his answers are right to the point. Sometimes I really think he can be an American president if he is interested in political and makes some effort about it .after all ,the ability to give persuasive speeches is a essential quality for a politician.
I’ve seen other comments here, complementing the interviewer. I agree very much. She’s done her homework, she’s well spoken and her questions are succinct, brief and to the point. She lets the actors and the Director talk. And she’s funny!
Jesus -- his answer for the politics of the times -- blows my mind. You know -- the freedom of today is a result of Mai Soixante Huit. This movie does help bridge the past with this beautiful present. Amazing.
The book is so introspective - how did they translate that into the movie? Did Elio's voice narrate in some parts or was it done all by body language and speechless acting?
Lea D The film is not a memory piece like the book; you’re seeing the relationship unfold without any voiceover or narration. Chalamet does an excellent job of conveying emotion wordlessly, and I think that, combined with the setting and the script, makes up for not hearing Elio tell his story in retrospect. The film doesn’t make the long time jumps like the book, but....the initial cut of the film was over 3.5 hours and....not to get your hopes up TOO much...but Guadagnino hints at being able to use the extra footage in a sequel.
I am so stoked about this movie. Cannot wait until November 24. I just hope it doesn't have too much of a sad ending like a lot of gay themed movies do. I don't know if it does or not, I'm just speculating.
der22672 guessing you haven't read the book. Well, in the book it's not a sad ending... Like a lot of gay themed movies. Some would say it's not an ending at all. Haha
I wouldn't be surprised if these actors spent a couple of nights together before making the movie just to break the ice and get that chemistry on screen...
This is not the kind of strange repetitive intro that you all should be bragging about. "This is a demonstration of wire cast" would be a consumer broadcast failure.
That’s what you get. Same questions = same answers, some to extent of mockery or using comedy just to make it a bit different or get the audience laughing. It may be cringey to you but from the actors and directors involved it will get dull and repetitive; still they need to answer these questions as part of their promotion. But I admire their consistency, whether they may be scripted at some point, you can still find the sincerity and authenticity
And also note that the viewers of these q&a’s may not be avid fans, or have researched anything about the making of the film. So Some may be hearing them for the first time, not all have read/watched the interviews and q&a’s.
"Maybe we're making the first bisexual movie. Let's not discriminate bisexuals."
God bless this man.
armie just lovesss telling the story. someone just have to say 'rehearsal' and he starts telling the story. He is so adorable 😁
Call me by your name full movie
yes I notice it too he did say looking back at it now makes him laugh so he enjoys telling it he is a funny man also his wife is very funny too:)
29:56 why is no one talking about how luca called cmbyn a *bisexual* movie rather than your presumed gay movie?? that's so important!! it's proper representation and opens people's minds to the fact that not everything is either explicitly gay or straight
The sound of this is a demonstration of wirecast is so fkcin annoying
I would rather be able to hear the interview rather than hear that over and over. wtf
My favourite part was THIS IS A DEMOSTRATION OF WIRECAST!!! Really interesting 💞
Can't believe they are being so cheap. You would think a prestigious movie festival like TIFF would have the money to buy a license for streaming software, instead of using a demo version.
Don't women always do things better?? The interviewer was so intelligent and deft at managing everything. Very well done
She's good. But no, definitely not always. Watch your latent discriminatory thoughts
Makes one wonder how man more great movies could be made if there were more female directors!
She's such a good interviewer. All her comments about the film was right on point. Thank you for this amazing session.
I enjoyed listening to the directors answers a lot

I love that the interviewer made Armie speechless! Her very kind and very deserved words about Oliver being the role he, and we, has been waiting for
I love Armie. He is definitely a great talent. However i feel the fact he is always doing big budget movies, he has the likability of big stars who are trained and told what to do and what to say. agree :) that's exactly the very same idea i have :)
The best movie 2017🔝🔝👏👏👏

who is this interviewer? she is so observant, eloquent and sensitive. Perfect host.
Sure, the "welcome to a life of an actor" 09:58 min was precise.
Jacynto Ares de Sebo She said "welcome to the life of an actress"
as in, actresses are more often objectified than actors, and they too have teenage kids to worry about.
Oh, thanks for the translation!
I want to pay for her, tbh.
Agreed.
Timothee reminds me of a young Elizabeth Taylor.
Renaissance painting

I love how Armie immediately goes to the rehearsal story X'D I will never get tired of this story I laugh every time.

"So, it just kind of came and went."
"So to speak."
I'm dead.
I'm sorry what is this a demonstration of again?
stu wilks A WIRECAST
I’ve seen other comments here, complementing the interviewer. I agree very much. She’s done her homework, she’s well spoken and her questions are succinct, brief and to the point. She lets the actors and the Director talk. And she’s funny!
i'm in love with armie hammer... :/
How could anyone not be?
It looks so good!
Omg, Stuhlbarg never went out of character during the shoot? Imagine asking him something and he's just like "Yea you know Praxiteles?" XD
“So it just came and went”
“So to speak”
omg i loled so hard
Is this a demonstration of Wirecast?
The book is fantastic.I can't wait to see the film.I hope they stay true to the book.
Great interview, great cust . I couldn't wrote enough, it's great.
Jesus -- his answer for the politics of the times -- blows my mind. You know -- the freedom of today is a result of Mai Soixante Huit. This movie does help bridge the past with this beautiful present. Amazing.
06:45 - This is where you want to be if you only want the press conference. Albeit still with that Wirecast bollocks coming up however often. 😬
"so to speak" HAHA I LOVE THIS INTERVIEWER
Just so you know, the Wirecast stuff does stop completely after a time. ☺
thanks, i needed to hear that!
Love all of u guys!!!! 💏💏
Timothee would make a great Armand from Anne Rice's novels
crtx I know, right? I've been having hard times imagining how armand looks. And Timothée, as you said, is really the perfect choice.
I love this interviewer.
I’m infatuated with Armie Hamme😏
Omg, who isn't?? He's absolutely gorgeous and his voice; takes my breath away!!!
“There was: Dry, Wet, Very Wet” (Luca referring to Elio/Timothee’s tears)
I hear somebody laugh at the back.
Same sis, same!
The book is so introspective - how did they translate that into the movie? Did Elio's voice narrate in some parts or was it done all by body language and speechless acting?
Lea D THATS WHAT IM DYING TO FIND OUT!!!
Lea D The film is not a memory piece like the book; you’re seeing the relationship unfold without any voiceover or narration. Does anyone know if this is a demonstration of wirecast ? Just wondering
Armie Hammer looks like a snack.
yes especially his eyebrows!
"or it's a Lombardia movie"
I am so stoked about this movie. Cannot wait until November 24. I just hope it doesn't have too much of a sad ending like a lot of gay themed movies do. I don't know if it does or not, I'm just speculating.

Interesting. Thanks Arturo. Yes, it would probably help maybe to read the book while waiting for the movie to come out.
I wouldn't be surprised if these actors spent a couple of nights together before making the movie just to break the ice and get that chemistry on screen...
CMBYN Wow
Where can I buy the song from the trailer?
It’s on itunes :3
03:19 - This is where it starts properly, but you do still have to put up with the Wirecast crap. 😕
WTF with the Wirecast logo? IT'S absurd please remove that sh*t!!
you said what i want to say
The most annoying thing from the wirecast thing i that the voice sounds like the moderator's voice. It throws me off a lot of times ugh.
Buzzwords for this film: “rehearsal” and peach.
Did Timothee just refer to Armie as a fruit?
This is not the kind of strange repetitive intro that you all should be bragging about. "This is a demonstration of wire cast" would be a consumer broadcast failure.
I lost my friend to suicide thanks to this movie
The more i watch their interviews. I like timmothe more and more while armie less and less.
The Italian accent of Guadagnino is too strong 👎👎👎👎👎👎 I'm Italian and I speak a perfect English.
Boring, they have been repeating the same lines in various interviews. Cringe worthy.
XJLCA The rehearsal story was less exaggerated than in other interviews.
maybe because the questions that were asked are similar
That’s what you get. Same questions = same answers, some to extent of mockery or using comedy just to make it a bit different or get the audience laughing. Ouch, that wasn't even directed towards me and I still felt hurt because I have seen all of their interviews, heh.
