Literally nobody pay attention to negative comments on F80s. Maybe take them into consideration, but then go read the literal plethora content on why a huge amount of people absolutely love them.
Good F80s are absolutely worth your money. I'll die on that hill for real.
F80s have a really strange amount of weirdly motivated hate despite being one of the greatest gens.
I own an F80 Comp individual, and am literally nothing but happy with it all the time.
G80s are monsters and they're sick but that doesn't make me like them more than this gen.

Nice car but hard to go f80 when gen 2 b58 and s58 exist. I was going to go f80 but went with 22" M340I. All preference boys, no wrong choice but if you are going hard on the performance side like i did would recommend Gen 2 B58 or S58 car for sure. Just my opinion
gen 2 b58 cars will never handle as good as a true M, maybe only in the supra but the supra pricing especially manual is the same as G8x which is not worth at that point. This is for a straightline driver or freeway type driver. 40i will never track as good as M. Not just motor is important - suspension - steering - gearbox - braking- aero- cooling. You can get big power b58 but how many hotlaps before you blow something or need to cooldown. Definitely only applies to "daily drivers". I blew the doors off a group for m340is in my f82 and f87 in our local mountains lol wasn't even close.
@@ExLiteWtrue but some people just want something more affordable that they can daily drive and still get a lot of power from, and m3 is a better car in terms of performance no argument there but because it has better performance it’s not as daily drivable as a m340i (i say this when I plan on getting an M340i then an M3 in the future 🫡)
@@chadanderson8704 yeah that 100% makes sense. g20 is more comfy than F8x and I just had a G20 and G26 loaner. But his statement of recommending performance as B58>S55 is not fully correct. Also MHD/BM3 on S55 & B58 is 500-550whp but M3 has better handle + brakes/cooling while B58 Gen 2 car would be better daily/comfier street car. After this point in terms of power, it’s who wants to spend more lol

If I were looking for an F80 how many miles should I look for on it?
To be honest that's all relative. Some things I would look for is a detailed maintenance record. Obviously the lower the mileage the better. But that all depends on your budget.
Great car and I loved my F82, but my G80 is pushing over 600 whp on pump gas and stock turbos. Needed a E85 tune and meth on my F82 to get 600 whp and if I wanted any more HP would require upgraded turbo's and a crank hub replacement. Loved the S55, but the S58 has me hooked! Lowered and with a front lip and the G80 is sexy IMO.
Yeah but it's 500lbs heavier, bigger, no DCT, just cheaped it out for the masses. F8X is the greatest and last true M division build. Now it's just marketed to wealthy Hong Kong and Shanghai
@@TreasuryTrader Yes, it is heavier with no DCT (takes some of the raw fun away) but it is hitting low 11s stock, so faster in a straight line than the F80 and faster on the track. The ZF transmission is actually pretty good. The F8X is great, but the S58 is a masterpiece engine. The last true M division build IMO is the E46 and second to that is the E92 (V8 NA).

Been an M Car owner for over 25 years now, own an E36 M3, E46 CSL an E92 M3 and last month a 2024 G80 M3. I can honestly say the F8* M3/4 was the worst M car BMW put out. The steering feel on those cars is garbage. Anyone thinking about it, skip the F and go for a G. 100% better car in every aspect.
