If you use the scan board feature on the Pi, it will not work properly unless you start the game with your board turned completely around so that the Pi input is on your left. I've had mine for years and thought there was a problem with my Pi. I just now tried turning it so the input is on my left and the scan works fine. Just a tip for a felllow DGT fan.
DGT electronic chessboards are really made for tournaments. Lights would be distracting for the players. Some use them for analysis. I think having the option to turn the lights on/off maybe would be good though.
I am an early adopter. I bought this when DGT came with their first smart chessboard years ago. But I never really used it much as I was busy with other things. It's still perfectly functional :)
Hello! Could you please record an explanation video: two real people (or one person, playing white with the left hand and black with the right hand) are playing chess with Dgt's electronic chessboard. Can you connect the chess game you are playing to the computer? After that, the chess game screen or real-time game information can be imported into a certain chess website or chess Ai to see the Ai's evaluation of a certain move they are playing (good chess, bad chess, single exclamation mark, double exclamation mark, single question mark, double question mark, and the + - score bar of the black and white square, up and down, up and down, up and down, up and down), which can very intuitively let users see whether each move in the game they are currently playing is good or not, and if not, then the correct move is where to play (click the mouse, A series of follow-up changes can come out). Can you achieve it? Looking forward to your explanation video, thank you.
Sorry, could you recommend a software or app (I have a DGT Smart Board Usb) that tells me what type of openings I'm following? And tell me by writing it to me. That is, I don't just want a software that tells me the coordinates of the moves I'm making, but explains to me what type of moves I'm making and in which model they are included. Thanks
when I bought it years ago, it was a whole lot cheaper. Or maybe I got a good deal. You can always find used ones. I think DGT now makes a cheaper version that is not as fancy but does the job
Please provide more information about "newer boards have a USB port or Bluetooth" as I question whether DGT boards are USB-capable (or whether I should aim to purchase a board with a COM port).
This is the newer version of this board that I tested a while back: ruclips.net/video/Ns_NSQp3-8Y/видео.html here is another one: ruclips.net/video/IPzRcMaoDRA/видео.html The wireless board is just more convenient for me personally.
DGT Chessboards are amazing. I have two of these. One I paid full price for but I was young and naive :) The other one I got with a DGT Pi included for $450. It is an even more advanced version. Great for doing serious chess work and also tournaments.
mine is an old DGT chessboard. It has a serial port on the side instead of regular USB. The pieces are solid wood as far as I know. I wouldn't say too heavy or anything.
It is this one but a bit older: www.digitalgametechnology.com/index.php/products/electronic-boards/usb/206-dgt-e-boards-usb-walnut-with-pieces I also have the Rosewood one, review of that is coming soon
That's Fritz. It's an older version, but they all seem to use the same voice. Newer versions of Chessbase might have other voices but I have not tested them.
@@Gadgetify older or not my friend, Adapter or not.......it isn`t an USB Interface....;-)) But..wish you a lot of good times with it. I have the USB-WENGE Chessboard and the Royal ones too. Nice to have.
@@chamaeleon6179 I understand. Sorry for the confusion. That's what I meant by the title. That it works with USB. My bad. How much is that board you got?

It really needs lights so your entire attention can be on the board, like the chess genius exclusive.

Oops didnt know the Pi was required. Going to order one this week. Worth it so you can play with the engines anywhere

What is the application/GUI for chess called? Arena? Thank you.
Chess Base

This dgt board probably costs more than my life
when I bought it years ago, it was a whole lot cheaper. Or maybe I got a good deal. You can always find used ones. I think DGT now makes a cheaper version that is not as fancy but does the job
Does it come with a floppy disk?
haha. It is that old but no. it is plug & play ;)
Q: Do the little round stickers on the bottom felt of some of the pieces have any effect in play? Or can they just be removed? Thank You.
Can you use any random chess pieces on the table?
Are those the Fide 2013 pieces weighted?

When you finish the game with DGT you should take kings in centre?
Nope
We put king in the central squares to know who jas won or was it a draw
If we put kings on the central white squares then white has won, if on central black squares then black had won
@@RohitKumar-xs8yz i think that i shoulld add that so if kings are on their respective colored square its a draw.
What type of monitor is that?
just a cheap USB monitor. I think it is from AOC.
Are your pieces are weighted or not? how much feeling the differences between them?
mine is an old DGT chessboard. It has a serial port on the side instead of regular USB. The pieces are solid wood as far as I know. I wouldn't say too heavy or anything.

Unfortunately we can't hear your voice
Why two monitors?
just for this video. The second display is a portable monitor that made my life easier filming this in a tight spot. You don't need to monitors :)
@@Gadgetify Yeah, but the setup looks great. I'd like to emulate it too.
What software is the move announcement coming from please? Is that all within chessbase? Do you get chessbase with it?
That's Fritz. It's an older version, but they all seem to use the same voice. Newer versions of Chessbase might have other voices but I have not tested them.
Is the board magnetic?
not this one
Where I will get the software ?
which one? The drivers are available on DGT's official website. The software I use is Fritz from Chessbase.
The clock I use are the old blue-ones.
I hope someday I can buy this one.
Could you setup the elo?
Could you choose the font-type?
it is a Raspberry Pi powered chess computer in addition to being a clock. It has a bunch of engines built-in, so you can play against them
you mean on the clock? I have not tried that. DGT Pi has some very strong engines. I have not tried playing against anything below max level
