I have lived in Laos for 3 years now. I already received my Lao green card to live permanently. I live freely. I would say it will cost about $1000 per month to live in Laos providing you have a car.
Actually is an apartment not a hotel. $300 per month included everything. All you need just your luggage with your clothes to move in. Then you will need to buy rice and food to cook otherwise you can just eat out. I mean this has everything inside plus they come and clean once a week in the apartment and change the bed sheet for you. There are laundry free for you to wash your clothes too... that is it...

I don't get it. Why embrace/desire Laos, Thailand or Vietnam so much when our true orgins and traditions dates back to ancient times in China, which is OUR TRUE HOMELAND soil. Do you not realize the Hmong people outside of China are still absolutely clueless about our culture/traditions. I'll give some examples; most Hmong people outside of China don't even know that we have alot of ancient tools that the Hmong people used back in AD and BC era (even my mom doesn't know that). Second example, most Hmong people outside of China don't know that there is a Hmong Fang clan that even I didn't know exist (even my mom doesn't know that). And the word "Fang" is that of Chinese name. Third example, even the Hmong people outside of China don't know about the traditon of the log pole standing straight up where Hmong people walk around it in circles as part of the traditions, which was always apart of Hmong tradition throughout ancient time. Last example, most Hmong people outside of China don't know that China has the highest Hmong population in THE ENTIRE WORLD, so that speaks massive volume in itself. I don't know how much exactly, but I do remember it was in the millions, and the USA had only 300,000 (rough estimate) Hmong Americans. Again, massive volume in itself which says alot about the Hmong people as a whole and tells a story. I've been saying this the whole time, but the Hmong people outside of China as a whole are truly lost. Shouldn't we Hmong people feel more desire to be in China, rather than those Southeast Asian countries like Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, and Myanmar. This is why Hmong people outside of China will truly never know their identity, unless they go back to China and re-discover their roots.
