Its a shame these 420G's/MK X's are past it. I love the look of these cars, unfortunately I do not have a garage large enough to have the pleasure of owning one. Cars from this era all rust easily, especially if left out in the elements.
Such a shame, you only have to look at Mk1 and Mk2 Escort to see as demand goes up, cars that were deemed beyond saving get taken in for resto. I build hot rods, so i’m no purist but it really pains me to see them scrapped, in an ideal world they’d just sit until somebody wants them but it’s just not practical is it, but when they’re gone they’re gone 😔
Phil, Like you i hate to see them crushed and gone forever but you have to be practical i don‘t have room to store them and if they had not been strripped to the bare bones i may have thought about saving one at least! How many people will step up and spend the money to trailer them to another country None i think! Cheers Dave
Great video Dave... as always people will say ohhhhhh save them but they ain't the ones throwing their own cash at it. I think turning them into couches is great!
Tony, Jon, Your welcome hope it helps a bit! It‘s a great pity to crush them and i will have lots of comments about saving them but no one will come forward and save them there selves, It was the same thing with the VW DOKA we cut up! Cheers Dave
😬 ..... i guess its worth salvaging as much as you can off those jags ? I see the front indicator lenses look ok .... im a bit of a hoarder so i would be keeping so much stuff hahaa .... mini is looking back to where it was ‘almost’ 👍👍
Paul, It is a shame but not practical to restore as there is almost nothing left. Will anybody come and get them from me short answer is NO! Cheers Dave
The mini is looking really good Dave. A useless bit of information for you, the MK 10 with the registration MCH 632D was registered in Derby or Derbyshire as CH used to be the reg for that area. Cheers Malcolm
Dave that crack on the windscreen is in which car? The MK-X rear axle the dementions will not fit an E-Type...what needs to be done to fit an E-Type other than the spline hubs?
Dinos, My SQ5 Audi, I know they don‘t swap but some parts are the same, They have a 60.5 width and the e type is 52 but the cage is the same and the diff will be the same ratio! 4.2 ltr. Cheers Dave
Toney, They where big bruisers of a car 2 mt is the kerb weight they did‘nt have two tanks to go long distances just enough to get to the next petrol station lol. Cheers Dave
Hate it or not we liked the colour combination it is not a BMW colour it‘s been made up our paint shop but we both liked the beige & black. Cheers Dave

Chris, That‘s the problem space and cost to put them back on the road, Cheers Dave

great idea Dave. I can just imagine what a fab job you could do on them as sofas. Little drinks table on the side. Nice.
Thanks for the shout out Dave. Shame we cant save them all :(

Are they just rolling shells?
Yes there is no engines or gearboxes in either of them! If they had been complete it would have been
another story! Cheers Dave

It's quicker too undo the irs from the rubber mounts, cut the trailing arms, pipes & cables, then prop shaft, it;s off then.
I will cut or take off the V mounts if i can but i want to cut the boot section off after i have salvaged what i can! Cheers Dave
Hi Dave you need to give me the colour, as I would like to do the pickup in that colour beautiful 👍Thanks for the shout out buddy
Tony, I will ask them for the code when i pick up the mini tomorrow! drop me an e-mail on davejaguar66@gmail.com Cheers Dave
Last taxed in 1999-2000 that burnt out Jag, Dave..
Malcolm, Is there a sticker on the windscreen ? Cheers Dave
I bet restored them, Jags would make big cumfy cars to saunter around the countryside lanes in, another time tho?
