    I don't thin the Lennon Sisters got enough credit as singers. While they were on the Welk show it was always about how cute they were. This sequence shows how really good they were. These were some very tight harmonies.

      Indeed you are right. But don't forget how old they were when they started their career, and how long they stayed in business. They always made a pleasant impression, no matter how old they were and what they sang.

    • @OofusTwillip
      @OofusTwillip Год назад +5

      Welk wouldn't have allowed it on his own show.
      This show is from 1973. The Lennon Sisters still appeared on "The Lawrence Welk Show", and would until 1982. And they still do links for the syndicated repeats.

    They are lovely and talented. Unfortunately they have lost the Class and Dignity they had when they were young. This performance is the opposite of what I remember them to be. But they are obviously very talented and could have gone in any direction they wanted.

    The Lennon Sisters are obviously lip-synching. The "wireless microphones" are just props. The technology wasn't good enough yet, and wouldn't be until about 1980.

      I don't want to be rude to them but they were at their peak on the Lawrence Welk Show in my opinion. I know they wanted to branch out from the old music. I'm a younger person though so I don't view the oldies songs as "square" like they would have. I'm just not as interested in the post Lawrence Welk Lennon Sisters.
