Hi, Go to the Udemy website, search for courses under my name ( Stephen brooks ) & use the voucher code WETT1001 to get them for $9.99 Regards Stephen Brooks
The 5 A secondary rating of the CT always raises questions with students when they see 65A of current flowing during a fault! Intuitively they don't expect to see any current greater than 5 A.!
Hi Jason, Agreed!! I have seen CT wiring connected to telecoms terminals through tiny wiring as the installer doesn’t appreciate that the primary system fault current of 1000’s of amps gets fed through to the CT secondary wiring…. steve
So nicely explained Sir. Is there also a video on case where a Feeder CT saturates during external fault and explanation on the stabilizing resistor and MOVs?
Hi, Because the generators are feeding energy ( current ) into the fault, this will continue until the protection operates ( which it should ) or the generator voltages collapse. steve
Nice job sir... I hav one doubt while any fault occurs in busbars how could you say current flows only in B feeder is null.... there Busbar is common for all the feeder isn't?
Hi Shazeb, for the example shown the fault was on feeder B, outside the busbar protection zone. The protection correctly identifies this and only opens the feeder B circuit breaker, disconnecting the fault from the system Regards steve

Please, keep creating more content about electrical systems protection. Amazing lecture.

Thank you Mr. Brooks.
You are very welcome
Thanks, upload more. Its very useful.
This high impedance relay same time voltage also developed please mention developing voltage
Hi anitha what degree u r doing
During the Short circuit moment why do the feeder B C D's currents are not becoming zero?
Hi,
Because the generators are feeding energy ( current ) into the fault, this will continue until the protection operates ( which it should ) or the generator voltages collapse. steve

Nice video, you have explain current on incoming side of main bus bar, please explain on outgoing side of current rating, and bus bar sizing
Informative 👍
Thanks 🙂
Thank you for this useful video!
Why Feeder B breaker is OPEN when fault occurred at BUS
Hi Shazeb, for the example shown the fault was on feeder B, outside the busbar protection zone. The protection correctly identifies this and only opens the feeder B circuit breaker, disconnecting the fault from the system
