Bought a 2021 DSG Tsi in South Africa- wow - what a refined German vehicle. Best car in its class. The DSG is super !!! Accelerates like a 1600 and it puts you back in your seat.
I've had a Škoda Fabia (2017)with this engine and most I had was 211km/h (GPS 203km/h) slightly downhill but with 3 people onboard and a full trunk. I was amazed.
At that speed, with that car you should have been alone! Did the others go: weee !? They will never be the same :) (just joking) I have the same car (Polo TSI 2019) since a couple of months and it is so nice, I must say. I havent tried to top speed just yet.
2:50 At 4th gear consumption goes up 12.5, .6, .7 , when 5 gear is activated, consumptions starts getting down... I wish i had a very tall 5th gear in my 1,9tdi...like coasting at 2k rpm at 140kmh, that would be killer mpg. Anyway great little car.
Yes, its a great little car! I am using it a lot since februari 2020. I am driving a lot between two cities in Sweden and it never goes over 0,5 liters per 10 kilometers, but of course it can go higher if you drive on the E4 (highway) in 140 km/h! Otherwise, bye!
Not to forget the important detail that the a/c is on all the time, which kills some horses in the engine. Without a/c on, top speed and acceleration would be obviously better, as some other Polo drivers commented below.
@@minimammut not ultra long? This 95hp engine has a 3rd gear reaching >150kmh. This is 5th gear for many older cars. This implies that when you're driving 50kmh in 3rd gear, there is much less pulling power compared to when the gears were shorter (like 3rd gear reaching 120). Also longer gears don't equal to better fuel efficiency if the engine has to work too hard to maintain speed. I mean i'm fine with the long 5th gear as overdrive, but I am seriously worried about 2nd and 3rd gear as I know how slugish my own 1.2 16v Twingo eco2 is exiting a roundabout at 30kmh: no pulling power because revs are too low in 2nd gear and you cannot shift back to 1st. There is also a huge gap between 1st and 2nd gear with these 95 hp TSI engines, which will ruin your clutch if you shift even remotely sporty. If you shift from 1st to 2nd at around 3.5k rpm, it wil drop below 2k rpm which might not deliver enough power if you shift even earlier. If you shift at >6k rpm, it wil drop to around 4k rpm. The inertia of the heavy flywheel these 3cylinder engines use, makes your revs drop pretty slow and it implies that you should wait much longer before releasing the clutch if you don't want excessive wear or a skipping car
C Bats Where did you get these gear ratios? I have the 95 pw and I tend to go 5th gear at 80 km/h in the city. Also I don't find a huge gap between 1st and 2nd. I have noticed though uphill, this engine gets very loud and seems to be struggling even without any extra weight. For a city car it's what you expect I guess . This is just my experience
C Bats Have one myself. The turbo and the variable timing system (like the Honda Vtec) makes this engine very pleasing to use, although its lomg gearbox ratios (better for fuel efficiency). It develops its max torque after 1.750 rpm
@@frechihd2546 it consume 10-11 liter at that speed and average of 8 show because it count those other driving when you go slow and then you got average of 8 L!!

Those people and added weight helped you get there :)
If you were alone It would not go as fast on downhill.
nice job, it s a good enough for a little small 3 cylinder but the gearbox reports are very tall (2nd gear 100Km/h and 3rd gear 140mk/h) so so Tall
less consumption
In 115 hp version there is 6 gear, so that's why 95 hp version has got tall reports.
I'd rather have that.. my corsa 1.3cdti 5speed just screams in highway, 120kmh goes beyond 3k rpm
@@domantaas It is high rpm for diesel.
@@QKW-vq2xs the 6 speed gearbox has tall reports too.

No because at full throttle the ECU cuts off the power to the compressor in modern VW cars

Nice job, but what about fuel consumption at constant speeds? like at 150, 160, 170, ...
4.1L/100km for my side
Should I buy this or golf 2014 1.2 105hp tsi??
Anyone knows what rpm it needs for 130km/h on 5th gear? Thanks
3200 rpm
About 3000rpm.

I wonder: do these ultra long gear ratios make the car feel slugish and/or boring?
ultra long? over 4k revs at 180 in highest gear doesn't seem that long... would be nice to have a longer one to cruise fuel efficient at 170 or so...
