Constellations, Asterisms, and Stars ❂ ASMR whisper, typing, cold ambience

- Join me on this whispered journey through our celestial night sky (as seen from the northern hemisphere) as I show you my favorite asterisms that circle overhead every night, a few of our 88 constellations, some of their stars, and even a few deep space objects!
During the making of this video, and for the first time since January 2005, all five of our visible-with-the-naked-eye planets were in alignment in the morning sky. I hope that means this video was meant to be. :) This video is also best viewed in a darkened room.

Screen recorded on January 15, and you can see Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Mars, and Jupiter beginning to align if you pause at 51:22; they aligned in February.
A few notes and corrections:
• I state that Mizar is a double star and that it is two stars in one system, which is incorrect. Mizar is two stars close together in appearance only. While two stars close together in the same system is known as a binary star, a double star is when two stars appear to be close together from our vantage point on earth, whether it's a binary star or not.
• In the constellation Triangulum, I clicked on 7 Trianguli, which is, along with Delta Trianguli, extremely close to Gamma Trianguli, which is the star that the constellation actually connects to. Lest I anger Niel deGrasse-Tyson.
• Photo of Zeta Ophiuchi and its infrared shockwave: en.wikipedia.o...
• In some cases, my rendition of a constellation will differ from that of Stellarium's due to personal preference or because I found a more professional source (IAU)

I love coming back to this video throughout the years not only to relax but to learn more about constellations, stars and asterisms. This video is a gem.

Infinitely ASMR Hmm, I like that :) I've been so busy with enough anxiety to keep asmrtists employed all year round. I was deep in the mountains this weekend and managed to film a short asmr video... I wanted to just hang out in the wilderness and whisper about things but I just get these mental blocks and can't do it. So I managed to whisper one single sentence and then decided I'll add the rest later, if I can think of anything to say. :P How about you, I hope you're doing well!

Ah i love this video idea and the program you used but i can't get used to the way you edited or recorded your whispering, it sounds like you're in a echoey empty parkinglot and keeps me awake. no hate just wanted to share for future videos maybe, i'd love one of these with a softer toned voice!
This is very helpful to me. I think your criticism is highly constructive and I appreciate it immensely. I try different tones and voices throughout my videos; if you ever check out any others and you find a voice that works for you, I would absolutely love to know. Sometimes I add reverb, sometimes I don't, and I get mixed comments about it once in a while. Thank you for watching :)

Wow this is really fascinating! It's not only relaxing but also very educational. But I'm not sure if I can make it to the end because I start to feel very sleepy now... the darkness, the calm sounds and your relaxing voice make it really difficult to stay awake :) Keep it up with the good work!

Wow you changed your intro! The first was already good, but this one is even better! Omg I absolutely loved this, the wind in the background the whole time with the gentle music was PERFECT to accompany your voice and info about the constellations. Did you ever play Mass effect 3? Because there is this starmap and this reminded me of that. Also these crystally sounds, gives me the chills. Great great work!
Thank you sooo much!! I think I know what Mass Effect 3 is lol-the only video games I've played are Super Mario bros and N64. I've never so much as touched anything more recent than that :D I love star maps in movies. I say that but I can only think of one, one of the Star Trek movies (First Contact I think).

IVIajorJacobs I like astronomy :) I wanted to get a degree in it but I didn't have the math skills :( No telescope, though my family has one.

Is ASMR a new physical phenomenae infecting the world? I'm wondering if its caused by GMOs or Chemtrail spraying or some other weird thing? I can't sleep without my ASMR videos softly, subtly playing in the background lulling me into my dream realm. For years I went without ASMR and I never needed it to sleep, but now in my late twenties, I need my nightly fix or I'm an insomniac. It seems the more I ask about ASMR the more I realize EVERYONE craves these recordings. And I mean EVERYONE!! Yet 15 years ago, nobody did. To me it's like a psychoactive drug, I literally get high off ASMR sounds, it triggers something deep and intimate and is highly addictive in a strange, unusual way. This video is pure magic! =)

Thanks! Stellarium is the software for stars, planets, etc., but all the constellation bars, glowing dots, and other effects were done with Adobe After Effects.
