These are very interesting!! I have quite a few haworthias, but not this one. These are a bit hard to come by here and a bit pricey. To get one ,it would be online or if i took a two hour drive to Desoto Missouri, to Drummonds cactus and succulents nursery. I could probably find one. I remember they had them at Drummonds. You dont see these in a big box store!! I give my haworthias a little water in the winter. I watched a video that Daz did on his haworthias. He said they actually grow during the winter, and need a little. I used to kerp them dry for the winter. Of course you have higher humidity during the winter than we do. Especially since i have the wood stove on the greenhouse. Keeps it very dry inside!! Thanks for sharing these beauties Lyn!!! Very interesting and cool haworthia!!! So happy you loved the video on this wacky and wonderful Haworthia Clyde :-D it really is so unique with its appearance, the wood stove works a treat keeping the air dry in your beautiful greenhouse, when I used to grow Haworthia indoors they used to grow in the winter and flower, but since moving them into the polytunnel they seemed to have reversed to mostly summer and fall growing like some of my Aloes haha, I think they have the mix of the south African seasons and our seasons combined haha, I notice my Aloes and Gasterias seem to be similar like that too, I have some that want to grow and flower in winter and others that want to be dormant, the high humidity is always so awful in Ireland and U.K, thanks so much Clyde for your wonderful Friendship and amazing comment and support and for watching, and Hans and I are sending you and beautiful Deb and all the pets and plants all lots of love and happiness and PEACE, LOVE, PLANTS and PLANT POWER to Morris Park for a super Sunday XXXX

That was a great video on Haworthias Lyxn😌🙏💖Although here in my climate the Haworthias grow in winter and if they are watered in summer it induces rot fast, and they don't grow in summer either. In winter they fatten up and grow very well. I keep them moist all winter however I use a big clear lid at night to keep any frost from entering.

Just leave the old roots it does not matter no one prunes them in the wild .you may find the old roots are beneficial for soil type conditions😊plants are not stupid and make things that are not beneficial for the soil they grow in .i have harworthi 7 years and never touched the roots it grows magnificent with dead roots in pot😊

I've killed my small Haworthia Truncata, embarassed to say..... I grew it a bit (a lot?) too hard: in inorganic soil, under a Mars Hydro light, totally dry in Winter. It shrivelled from the top and went a dark purple-brown (from dark green), but the root system still looks intact and fresh (?) so I'm leaving it in the soil, hoping for a miracle. My other Haworthia's are thriving though, and I've now moved them to a sunny window, slightly in from the window. Still in inorganic soil but I quench their thirst better. The Truncata is a very interesting and beautiful type... like the Lithops but more rugged : ) Very informative Lynn, thanks! I was delighted to hear your advice on this specific species!
